31. The Sodomites will one day be barred from entering . . .
Ken Quinn ,   Amsterdam   (06.05.08)
The Holy City by G_d Himself. Until then I cannot but help His cause by agreeing with all those who oppose this perversion. The Sodomites will one day soon lose their "pride."
32. To #4 Joe and the homophobes
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (06.05.08)
You encourage the Gay Pride Parade because you are narrow minded and refuse to accept that others have a different way of life to the one that you FORCE on others. It is true, there should not be a Gay Pride Parade in Jerusalem as it is the City of Hate and Intolerance and the Gay Pride movement symbolizes tolerance and understanding. As for your comparison of homosexuality to incest, well, I would suggest you consult a good dictionary and possible a psychiatrist! Live and let live. That is the Gay Pride way. The Nazis felt differently and, apparently, so do you. Others can draw their own conclusions from you comments but it won't change the fact that homosexuality is here to stay and, unfortunately, so is racism, bigotry, intolerance and hatred. You and the other homophobes are the living proof of this. By the way, it is a pity that you don't concentrate your anger against those who abuse and rape their children and siblings. You might pay attention to which communities they belong to. They should clean up their own "abominations" before casting stones at others!
33. To #22 Bar - Hear Hear!!!!
David ,   The Galilee   (06.05.08)
That is where the disgrace lies and they try to cover it up! Has anyone heard ONE word from the Chief Rabbinate, Shas, United Torah Judaism and the other Haredim condemning the incidents of child rape and abuse in THEIR communities?
34. To # 14 - Get your facts straight
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (06.05.08)
If you want to preach then at least get to know the Bible or the Torah. Abraham lived a long time before Moses climbed up Mt Sinai (twice) and received the Ten Commandments, none of which say anything about homosexuality. He wrote that later in Leviticus which also outlaws adultery, child rape, incest and a number of other for which the death penalty is to be applied. He added the word "abomination" to homosexuality. It probably never entered his head that people would stoop so low as to rape their children! Now, let's get to David. The sweet singing boy was, in later life, a mean man and he literally coveted is neighbors wife and sent her husband off to battle where he was killed. King David was horribly punished for this! Additionally, many have speculated about the "relationship" between David and the young Prince Jonathan. Solomon was indeed a wise man but we do know that he was not all that righteous his hand were not exactly clean of sin. Bith the Old and the New Testaments comment of is "lack of righteousness" .(Kings and Corinthians). Now let's look at Jerusalem. The First Commandment says "I am the Lord thy G-d and thou shalt have no other gods before me". Every day we hear about this Holy City and how people revere and pray to it and the Western Wall. Is this not in breach of No. 1? The Holy City is s strange name as their are four of them in Judaism: Jerusalem, Tiberias, Safed and Hebron. If you really know your scriptures then you will know that Hebron is the "True" Holy City as Abraham, the First Jew, lived there. Jerusalem, the City of David, came much later and could have been built anywhere! As for the Holy business, well, I have dealt with the Jewish aspect but in Christianity, Jesus was born in Bethlehem and lived in Nazareth. Ok he was crucified on Golgotha which is NOT in Jerusalem but outside! In Islam Jerusalem is the third most Holy Place after Mecca and Medina and the Moslems turn their backs on Jerusalem when praying, as the face Medina! So the holies of the holies are not quite as holy as we thought. But what is holy if you are religious and a good Christian, is tolerance! It is that same intolerance that you display towards the Gay Community that caused the death of your Savior, Jesus Christ, by the Romans after being sentenced to death by the Jewish Haredi Court of the Sanhedrin! Let me remind you that Jesus said: "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Are you without sin Yonas Solomon of California?
35. Intolerence is intolerable.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (06.05.08)
The parade is harmless, has no consequences, & is over in a few hours. Making such a big deal about it strikes me as not quite rational. And, it is intolerable for any one segment of the population to exhibit such intolerence for another segment of the population. C'mon folks, this isn't Saudi Arabia or Iran.
36. # 31 ken in Amsterdam the Gay mecca
Simon ,   TA Israel   (06.05.08)
Well thats rich coming from you living in Amsterdam the gay capital of Europe. I guess you could always move to Tehran where you will find others just like you. FYI jerusalem is the capital of Israel and that includes all israelis not just the harideem. One group can not deny another its democratic right. Why does a few thousand people dressed mainly in jeans and a t shirt offend these people? Its just plain hold homophobia rearing its ugly head.
37. Intolerable?
Talula ,   Israel   (06.05.08)
I'll tell you what intolerable is: Religious Knesset members stealing millions of shekels of public money. Rabbis sexually abusing young children. Not serving your country. Having so many kids you can't feed them. Sponging off the government of which a percentage of money was in fact paid by gay people in tax Preaching to anyone who doesn't dress like a penguin or drives on Shabbat or doesn’t keep kosher And those are just for starters - THAT in my mind is INTOLERABLE! NOT a gay parade. These mental cases should be told to shut up once and for all. I’m sick of hearing the same old nonsense every year. Gays have a right – AND in among those in the gay parade will be religious gays – GET OVER IT!!!!
38. Gabriela , polls ?
bar ,   Israeli   (06.05.08)
What poll ? when , give your references please . Before condemning others , try to clean up your homes , with the many children , from child abusers amongst you .
39. He !, anti gays !
bar ,   Israel   (06.05.08)
The murderers of six million of our brethren were the same who murdered Gays too . I think you should distance yourself from this hatred and intolerance policy .
40. To Jews outside Israel
Israel   (06.05.08)
What the HELL is it to YOU? why do you think you have a say what happens in OUR capital? You chose to live outside Israel, so bugger off and concentrate on your own issues and leave ours to us. Bunch of LOOOZAHS!!!!
41. to #38
Arul   (06.05.08)
No one is condoning Child abusing. But do we see "Child Abuse" pride parade anywhere ? You be a gay. who cares. Let GOD judge you. But why come and take out a parade ? To show off your shamefulness ? To tell that you are in Open rebellion aginst GOD ??
42. pride
nossen tzvi ,   J-M   (06.05.08)
The Jewish gays in New York tried to march in the past as a group in the Israel day parade . The vast majority of marchers are from Jewish schools who clearly said it's them or us. Many Jews are saddened by family members who are gay. They are usually nice to them but without pride and joy - even if the partner is a doctor. If the gays have pride they would realize that they are causing pain to their fellow Jews and are not getting any respect via public displays. You never know what a person is thinking while they smile at you!
43. #1 refer to talkback #40 with bells on!!!
Israel   (06.05.08)
44. Ban all Jewish marches in Europe
Simon ,   TA Israel   (06.05.08)
There we are fair enough? i mean we dont want to offend anyone do we?
45. Gays would never parade at the Vatican!
Raphael Cohen ,   Montreal, Canada   (06.05.08)
46. #28 Gabriela, I am not A Tel-Avivian
Chaim   (06.05.08)
Gabriela, don't you think it's a little presumptuous of you to say I'm a Tel-Avivian. I guess it is just easier for some people to assume that anyone who doesnt agree with them must come from THAT place. Actually, I'm a Jerusalemite - and my family have been for a LONG time. We were among the original Bukharim in Skhunat HaBukharim. You may also want to stop referring to me as a homosexual - the fact I stand up for their democratic right to express themselves does not make me gay. But this is beyond the point. Freedom of speech and expression was not created so that we could see and hear all of the already accepted views and perpetually pat ourselves on the back and assure ourselves that we're right - it was created so that people with controversial ideas would be allowed to express those ideas. You are attempting to use your religious values as an excuse for stripping these people of their democratic right, and that is completely unacceptable. Good luck to you, and may you learn to appreciate the importance of democracy, while we still have it. Thanks, Chaim.
47. STOP THE HATE!
debra ,   usa   (06.05.08)
48. #36 Homophobia is an oxymoron, who is afraid of . . .
Ken Quinn ,   Amsterdam   (06.05.08)
a flock of fairies? And as far as the "homophobia" myth goes, you just have to know that the emotion that "homos" excite is DISGUST! No wonder the Bible call these people dogs. You can read it here-Deut. 23:18 "Thou shalt not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the LORD thy God for any vow: for even both these are abomination unto the LORD thy God."
49. 60th birthday of democracy!
nadav ,   jerusalem   (06.05.08)
Israel is celebrating its 60th anniversary as a Jewish democracy! As such, any group is allowed to hold a peaceful parade! Why are these religious goons bothered by Israeli citizens exercising their RIGHT to legal assembly!! Send these Medieval losers home!!
50. 48 your talkback is more disgusting than anything
Kim ,   Israel   (06.05.08)
else on the planet. You are indeed a sick sick man. You are probably fighting gay feelings towards other gay men. Let go and embrace your true feelings. Why, would someone who is so disgusting by gay men, LIVE in a city where same sex couples openly kiss and the gay community is thriving? Opps - busted!!! ha ha ha ha
51. Arul , parade is'nt against something !
bar ,   Israel   (06.05.08)
Not condoning child abuse in some communities [ where was this Chen hidding ? in an orthodox one ] By comparing child abusers to Gays you show your hatred towards people having an other lifestyle as you [ and I ] have . Religious Gays parading there , in open rebellion against god ? This parade is NOT against something , it's to receive some rights they have'nt [ adoption , inheritance are two of them ]
52. Aviva # 3 , it's not a sin
bar ,   Israel   (06.05.08)
for gays to be so , not for the religious and certainly not for the non believing Gays . It's only a sin for some hetero religious fanatics .
53. Trust me, gays will NEVER be allowed to have this parade in
Heavenly Yirushaliam ,   Lucifer   (06.05.08)
54. #32 To David and other Leftist Bullies...
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (06.05.08)
You disparage the Gay Pride Parade because you are narrow minded and refuse to accept that others have a different way of life to the one that you FORCE on others. It is true, there should not be a Gay Pride Parade in Jerusalem as it is a city filled with religious extremism and the Gay Pride movement only serves to exacerbate that extremism. As for you telling me that my comparison of homosexuality to incest merits that I consult a good dictionary and possibly a psychiatrist, I quietly and politely ask you to refrain from ad hominem arguments and intellectual bullying. Both homosexuality and incest are considered abhorrent behavior in all three major religious faiths represented in Jerusalem and accepting one while condemning the other is intellectual dishonesty, pure and simple. "Let us march or we will call you intolerant and compare you to Nazis". This is the Gay Pride way and, oddly enough, this kind of bullying itself is reminiscent of the Nazi Party in Germany during the early 1930's. I personally don't care what consenting adults do in the privacy of their own homes, but to bully an unwilling population into condoning a public spectacle that 99% oppose, this itself is a shining example of intolerance. Others can draw their own conclusions from your comments but it won't change the fact that your fallacious logic and intellectual bullying are perfect examples of the hatred and bigotry Gay Pride claims to rise above. You and others intolerant of opinions that vary from your own are the living proof of this. By the way, it is a pity that you don't concentrate your anger against those countries that behead homosexuals and the 5th column in our country that openly call for returning our country to a Sharia state. You might also pay attention to the political element on the Left that wants to turn "their" abominable dreams into "our" living nightmare. They should clean up their own "abominations" before casting stones at others!
55. My Dutch wife and I met on kibbutz in Israel. You are . . .
Ken Quinn ,   Amsterdam   (06.05.08)
the one having some kind of sick fantasy. A "thriving gay community" only equals a bigger fire. I can wait for that, can you?
