1. Defeated yes,pathetic no,Orly Azoulay is pathetic
YSL ,   Jerusalem Israel   (06.05.08)
2. Defeat for Clinton is a defeat for the Zionist Lobby
Chanalau, Tova ,   London, UK   (06.05.08)
Once again Israel's much vaunted PR and lobbying machine has proven too big for its boots. Blackmail and bribery do not always work and you can't fool all of the people all of the time. Let's hope Obama gives Washington a good clean out and sends all the lobbyists packing.
3. Nonesense
McCain Supporter   (06.05.08)
She stayed in as long as she did because there were real issues, she truly felt that she was more electable than Obama (as do I) she attracted those demographics which are much more important to winning the presidency , and won the popular vote. If not for the halve vote nonsense of Fla and Mich voters the picture might have been different. This article is nonesense and should have been better researched before printing
4. Respecting Hilary Clinto
DC   (06.05.08)
Orly Azoulay attributes "lust for power" to Hilary because she wouldn't quit when the going got tough. I bet that if Hilary was a man, Ms. Azoulay would have seen more positivite qualities such as her determination and not being a quitter. I respect Hilary for this.
5. defeated and pathetic
James Brown ,   New York   (06.05.08)
I could not agree with this article more. Disgraceful would also fit the behavior of women in todays society, by the way there should be a total ban on women drivers too, women should know their place. It's a man's world, O' yea
6. SHE IS THE ONE WHO INVITED HAMAS AT THE WHITE HOUSE!
SERGIO ,   ISRAEL   (06.05.08)
She showed her true colours when she invited Hamas members at theWhite House prayer breakfast. Good riddance for a power thirsty person who did not keep her promises, like when she was SUPPOSED to create National Heatlth Care under her husband.
7. Obama is the better candidate
Steve ,   U.S.   (06.05.08)
Conservative activists like Rush Limbaugh encouraged Republicans -- in states that allowed cross over voting -- to vote for Clinton in order to prolong the race and the "blood-letting" between Clinton and Obama. To me, these games are folly and will come back to bite the Republicans. There are those who say Ms. Clinton is exceptionally ambitious; she felt she deserved the presidency. They say this is something she has longed for her entire adult life and thus she would not quit the race until the bitter end. One thing seems clear to me at any rate. It will take an exceptional woman to be the chief executive of a great nation like the U.S. (or Israel for that matter); a Margaret Thatcher of sorts. I'm not sure Hillary Clinton is this exceptional a woman. Neither is Tzippy Livni.
8. # 5 JAMES BROWN GO HUG A MAN THEN.
petra ,   USA   (06.05.08)
IS IT OKAY FOR WOMEN TO PROTECT YOU WHILE THEY SERVE IN THE ARMED FORCES?SILLY BOY GET OVER YOURSELF. WOMEN NEED YOU LIKE A HOLE IN THE HEAD. PROBABLY UGLY, MISERLY AND ALONE FOR GOOD REASON. YOU SOUND LIKE A LOSER. PROBABLY YOU NEGOTIATE WITH HOOKERS FOR A CHEAPER PRICE. THEY PROBABLY INSIST ON MORE$$ DUE TO YOUR BEING SO UNATTRACTIVE.
9. Hillary Clinton won the popular vote and the delegate count
Rivkah   (06.05.08)
if Michigan and Florida were counted instead of her being given half those delegates, but you think her reluctance to exit a nomination race she won is contemptible. Such injustices happen to many people who rise above it. The USA will not be able to rise above a closet Muslim with dictorial powers if Obama is elected, if there are elections in November. The USA will collapse before that or shortly after that depending on when Iran is subdued. The collapse comes after that according to Daniel chapter 8 which describes the notable horn (USA not Alexander the Great) in its final and complete fulfillment. Hillary's husband Bill Clinton's remark that this is the last Presidential campaign he may be a part of reminds me of Richard Nixon and John McCain who both once said the same thing and rose above the defeats.
10. defeated and pathetic??
Rebecca ,   Israel   (06.05.08)
Sounds like a load of codswollop, Orly. Hillary did what she could and that's it, you're reading much too much into it. "lust for power" , "women must not play this game"?? rubbish. Her immense achievements for women cannot be erased.
11. Think about this
chaim ,   Israel   (06.05.08)
Obama wins the Presidency, Hillery is the VP. Sometime during the course of the term in office, Obama mysteriously dies or is killed. Tadaaaaa. Guess who is president. In any case, while people state how stupid we are with our Olmert, they need to look at what is happening in the US. In any case, who ever wins, the "you know what is about to hit the fan."
12. Do you have anything intelligent to say?
Fed Up ,   Barcelona   (06.05.08)
It's easy to say in retrospect, and only days after an overwhelming victory in the Puerto Rican primary, that she had "no chance" of winning; but that's just the arrogance of hindsight. You don't like Hillary. Fantastic, but don't try to pass off your own shamefully arrogant accusations onto others. She fought for her cause but wound up losing. There's no lack of dignity in that. There's clearly more dignity in that than in the undiluted pettiness demonstrated by this author.
13. Both Obama and McCain are good for Israel
James McNamara ,   Broken Hill OZ   (06.05.08)
14. There is nothing pathetic about Hillary she is one gusty
YSL ,   Jerusalem Israel   (06.05.08)
LADY,she gave Obama a run for his money, and stayed the course against all odds, and she had to put up with that cigar smoking jackass of a husband of hers. She gets 11 out of 10
15. Orly, you clearly are out of touch with American sentiment.
Eli ,   Jerusalem   (06.05.08)
Generally people write on topics they understand. And one expects that at least when such an inflammatory headline is used. You make Israelis look bad by being negative to a friend. Idiot.
16. #2, Tova shut up!
Ted ,   UK   (06.05.08)
You are quick to slam Israel on any occasion...yet you are happy to use this Israeli site, not to mention israeli technology (even if you aren't aware of it). You nust have deep inferiority feelings when it comes to Israel, I wonder why?
17. defeated and pathetic
Animal ,   New York   (06.05.08)
# 8 Petra, my dear, I did not mean you specifically, I just meant all women in general. Oh please don't let me be misunderstood.
18. what is really pathetic is that all around the world,....
they are all snakes   (06.05.08)
so called democracies are so incredibly ****** up! USA, EU, AU, IL, etc.... the politicians on offer are all utter CRAP! honestly the choices are so pathetic all over. Both parties are the same and the snakes who get elected have no intention of protecting their citizens. All they are worried about is lining their own pockets as they push us all farther into being governed by a global super state controlled by a handful of elite who dont care how the countries are being destroyed because they can simply fly their gulfstream IV to their private island demo = people cracy = power there are no democracies on earth the gullible people get stuck with liars for years on end every time their is an election
19. Missing the Point
Howie ,   Fair Lawn, U.S.   (06.05.08)
This article is correct as far as it goes. However, there is a method to Hilary's madness, which has been noted by quite a few commentators; by staying in the race so long, Hilary hopes to fatally weaken Obama, causing McCain to win. When McCain then totally wrecks the country with his imperial wars and right-wing nonsence, the Democratic candidate in 2012 will then have a cakewalk. And who might that be? Why, Hilary, of course. Pure opportunism - in line with her waffling on the Iraq war, abortion and quite a few other topics.
20. Gender problems?
JULIE ,   TelAviv, Israel   (06.05.08)
I am concerned about the narrow-mindedness and gender bias here. Women, still in 2008, who want a position of power, are still considered power hungry and manipulative. Men, in the same role, are still considered ambitious. Think about it people!
21. Hillary Clinton
Ann ,   Israel   (06.05.08)
I think you are being totally unfair to Hillary and women in general. Why should her ambition be called lust - if she were a man it would be described as admirable and powerful. The woman tried, had ambition and cared about people - she deserves our admiration and support not our criticism.
22. # Petra from USA
Mark Finestein ,   Baltimore   (06.05.08)
You sure seem to know how its done. Interested? Only I would charge YOU! Obama our next president!
23. The author of this article is an idiot.....
AJ ,   Washington, DC   (06.05.08)
24. Az ulai - this author is a moron.
AJ ,   Washington, DC   (06.05.08)
25. To #13 Obama, No !
AlbertoGa ,   St. George, UT. USA   (06.05.08)
This man want to have direct talks with the Mullahs and Pals in Iran etc, etc... The same gang that deny the massacre of 6 millions Jews. And the same Mafia who made it clear that Israel must Go ! Now the Mr. Obama said just yesterday how much he Love Israel and Jerusalem. I am not willing to swolow this type of Election Promises. Never again
26. hillary clinton was defeated
elliot ,   point roberts,usa   (06.05.08)
because she was a weak candidate who ran a poor campaign allowing another waek candidate to beat her with the aid of the chaotic proportional allocation of delegates named by party bosses that works so well in israel...in the end votes were taken from 'uncommitted' who was on the ballot and given to obama who was not on the ballot by the democrat-not democratic- party or she'd still be in it ,actually improving as a candidate.
27. Defeat for Clinton is defeat for Suha Arafat
Jack ,   San Diego, USA   (06.05.08)
28. Keep it to yourself
J. D. Edelman ,   Chicago, USA   (06.05.08)
You know how Israeli's are rightfully always telling Americans not to stick their noses into Israeli domestic politics? Well back atcha, .
29. #2
(06.05.08)
fyi have you missed obama's speach? ie: "jerusalem eternal capital of israel" it is not barak obama who will be influential in usa israeli ties. it will be congress and congress is very much in cohoots and ties with aipac and will continue to be so. congress, especially democrats, which are am ajority in it now have consistently supported israel and will continue to do so, much to your chagrin and hate. you know why? BECAUSE AS JOHNSON SAID ONCE "IT IS RIGHT".
30. Hillary
RightSideNews ,   Virginia, USA   (06.05.08)
The Clintons have always had only their own best interest as their motivator. Hillary's claim for an undivided Jersusalem are just words. I don't believe any of the candidates running for office anymore. I think the world has a crisis in leadership, both in Israel and the United States...and we are entering The Twighlight Zone...
