31. How do you tell the difference...
Shoshi ,   TA   (06.18.08)
among an Orthodox huppa, a Conservative huppa, and a Reform huppa? At an Orthodox huppa the bride's mother is pregnant. At a Conservative huppa the bride is pregnant. At a Reform huppa the rabbi is pregnant. Lighten up people. It seems that most of you venomous TBs have never attended a Conservative or Reform huppa - you simply don't know what you are talking about. But then prejudiced, ignorant, hate-filled people never do.
32. #30 Gabriela
Felix ,   Tel Aviv   (06.18.08)
Hi Gariela, do you know which Orthodox conversions (other than Haredi) are recognized in Israel? would be great to know where interested parties can turn to. cheers
33. More fraud from fake "Rabbis"
pull the other leg ,   J'lem   (06.19.08)
What a bunch of Fakirs. put them all on a bed of nails, that is as jewish as they are.
34. Shoshi I have counselled many people who did fall victim
therapist   (06.20.08)
to reform or conservative Fake Jewish ceremonies. I also helped them enjoy the real thing. If given the choice between chalk and cheese most humans prefer cheese. even if chalk looks the same
35. Shoshi I liked your last line.

36. Shoshi I liked your last line.
jennifer   (06.20.08)
It sums you up perfectly. did it ever occur to you that there are thousands of Baalei Teshuva who saw for thenselves how empty and irelevant R&C ceremonial is? Does it occur to you that hating fake and fraud does not mean hating the victims of fraud, including you. we do not hate you, but we sure hate the fraud you represent.
37. Gabriela and selling fake conversions
Jewboy   (06.20.08)
pretending that fake is the same as real has a name: FRAUD. you might be in favor of fake conversions but why would a convert want one?
38. #25 and confusing the issue
therapist   (06.20.08)
Fake and fraud will eventually be discovered. why run the risk of buying chalk when you can get real cheese?
39. Nick #24 why shut the door before you get to it?
A Rabbi ,   J'lem   (06.20.08)
Nick you obviously have never explored the alternatives Actually many who started off on your side of the argument discover to their pleasant surprise that the haredi option is the MOST user friendly. Conversion is a voyage of discovery, and a redefinition of self. It is definitely a process. Haredim like me define Judaism as a process too. I aint Jewish enough YET, I have not YET studied enough and I do not YET apply enough of what I know to my life. Do not shut the door on exploring more. Actually it can be fun
40. Talk about an identity CRISIS!
Nick Sporek ,   Jerusalem Israel   (06.20.08)
At the time of the destruction of the second temple, there were about 26 different factions of Judaism. I wonder how many there are today? Happy 60th Israel & good luck. Shabbat shalom
