31. # 4 Your Description is Off
Thomas   (06.17.08)
It's not a civil march of people in jeans and t-shirts. It will be like the Tel Aviv parade, with disturbed people dressing up like women and acting inappropriately. These parades are nhever about civil rights. They are about people flaunting what other people consider a private matter. Incidentally, there are Haredi who work, pay taxes, and serve in the army. You would throw a fit if someone said gays only spread diseases, corrupt society and commit crimes against hamsters.
32. # 31 Thomas just remind us where you are
Citizen X ,   TA Israel   (06.17.08)
Thomas who dosent even live in Israel yet thinks he has the right to tell us how to live our lives in israel., were you on the gay parade in Jerusalem, please show us the evidence of people as you put it flaunting thier privates, your arguement is as pathetic as you are because its a total lie and you know it. As long as there are people like you in the world we will march and become louder and louder. so get used to it buddy
33. Sorry Miriam your rules not mine
Simon ,   TA the free city   (06.17.08)
Sorry mirriam but you choose to live by the Toarh i dont. I dont believe in it but thats my choice and i do not accept it and never will. FYI Israel is a democratic country that recognises the rights of all its citizens and not just the religious fanatics. If you want to live your life based on a primative religious superstion thats your choice but to judge and slander , incite hatred towards your fellow jews is really showing the true face of religion.\ C U there darling.........
34. Here we go again
moshe ,   Jerusalem   (06.17.08)
They are Jews and G-D loves all Jews and gives all Jews a chance to repent even if its the last day of their life. There is a lot of evil in this world also amongst the religious so they should get their own house in order first. If one believes in what the Torah says then G-D him self will send a plague and destroy any evil that exists. Lets not make the heshbon ( account) of G-D what we can do is pray. Keep the blood shed and violence off the roads in the end its the tax payer who has to pay for the burnt bins and destruction that these demonstrations create. Remember the less the media makes out of all this the less we hear about the Parade. And one last thought lets not become another Iran. Free speech is aloud in this world, and it can be done diplomatically what ever your views are.
35. Miriam
bar ,   Israel   (06.17.08)
There are many , if not most , Israelis who don't believe in a "god " who will "punish" everyone for the "sins" of some . If this "god" acts so , it's not a good one . You again justify the Shoa by this nonsense . And , is there not written somewhere : derech eretz kedma latorah , ? and "ve'ahavta et re'echa kamocha" ? This for you always citing your torah . I don't need torah to behave correctly , those hatefull faces we have seen have maybe tora , but don't behave as Humans have to .
36. Miraim the real meaning of abonimation
Simon ,   TA the free city   (06.17.08)
Hatred based on prejudice against a group because of race, colour, religion or sexual orientation is the real "abomination" And you sweetheart belong to one of those groups to. Happy pride :-)
37. To #30 Steve" Yes, they put Homosexuals to death in Iran!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (06.17.08)
The Torah, Leviticus Chap 20 V10 "If any man commit adultery with the wife of another, and defile his neighbor's wife: let them be put to death, both the adulterer and the adulteress." So are you and your homophobic bigoted friends going to kill every person in the Great State of Florida and the USA who is married and had a bit on the side? Why can't you live and let live? Its OK for a heterosexual couple to walk down the street almost naked and stick their tongues down their throats and feel all their "private parts" in public but if two guys hold hands that's not OK? I agree though that the Gay Pride Parade should not be held in Jerusalem. My reason is that Gay Pride is for tolerance and understanding. It is for equal rights and freedom of choice, a freedom denied by so many to Jews, never mind Gays! Jerusalem is the City of Hate. It divides Jews who are secular and religious. It symbolizes Jewish fanaticism which denies heterosexual Jewish men and women the right to marry in civil ceremonies, reform or conservative ones. Those who control it force their views on others and display total intolerance to the secular community. All this and we haven't even broached the Gay question yet. Of course, on your side, Islam hates Gays too. So I suppose if an Arab terrorist kills a Jewish Gay he is a good guy in your book of warped ethics. To some Jerusalem has become so steeped in religion that they worship it and the pieces of stone that form the Western Wall of what was the Temple. To do this is a sin against the Word of God Almighty as it is said in Commandment No 1 "I am the Lord thy God and you shalt have no other gods before me." Nowhere in the 10 Commandments does it say that man cannot lie with man but it DOES say "Thou shalt not covet they neighbors wife etc"! Those are the words of Lord and are engraved as the basis of Law and Order. Another Jew, a very wise man, said let he who is free of sin cast the first stone. Are you that man who is totally free of sin? I say you that you are NOT as you and the other bigots have committed the sin of HATE and that is a sin against the Lord which Jews repent for every Yom Kippur!

44. Way to go Miriam, you are 100% right on!!
miriam ,   migdal, Israel   (06.17.08)
45. Miriam,again you are right.
Keren ,   Israel-SP   (06.17.08)
Unfortunately,a large amount of Israelis(not only Israelis,of course)choose shame and imorality as their ways of lives, and the first to be attacked are the Religious ,who have moral and ethic codes and try to follow them. If one wants to live in shame and perversity(I am not a stupid moralist person, just a person diferenciating among cleaness and dirtiness;sanity and madness),it should be forbiden to be shown in public. It is so incredible sick seeing these men wearing like women and these women looking like men, that the streets seem to be a house of lunatics in open sky. One can not compare an individual not eating kosher or desecrating Shabat to these sicks. The first are not affecting the coletivity while the second are. Shame on them!SHAME! Obs:In Brasil ,only the lowest educated classes go to the streets waving their gays banners, and they are used by leftist politicians for evil purposes. I guess in Israel gays are the same usefull idiots!
46. Miriam, You are 100% correct!
David ,   USA   (06.17.08)
Please continue to make your voice heard. It may be that some will t'shuvah! It may be that because of you and many more like you that the land will not vomit out the Jews again.
47. David #37: You don't know me...
Steve ,   Fla.   (06.17.08)
Yet you make this charge that I am homophobic, bigoted and a hater! To be quite honest, the 'gay' issue is not my issue. The land of Israel issue IS my issue, if you would simply read my previous post. I said there are more things for which our rabbis to condemn than this. You will notice, I wrote the law prescribes death for this practice and yet no homosexual is put to death in Israel today for this behavior that I know of. Same holds true for adultery and your point about the Ten Commandments is a good one. My point is, the law (Torah) is here to warn us to not do evil; to not sin. We "could" put the adulterer to death according to the strict interpretation of the law of Moses as we "could" put to death those who practice this homosexual lifestyle. We Jews generally do not put Jews to death for these sins because, by and large, unlike the Muslims in Iran and Saudi Arabia, the Jews are liberal; lenient. Maybe we are too lenient. We imprison -- rather than execute -- brutal mass-murderers like Samir Kuntar only to release them to murder more Jews. My point is this, why do gays need to flaunt their homosexuality in public. You say heterosexual couples walk down the street almost naked and stick their tongues down their throats and feel all their "private parts" in public... I do not see this here in my town. I'm not saying it does not occur and I would frown on any 'overt' display of sexuality that you describe, both heterosexual and homosexual. You say this is about tolerance and understanding. It is for equal rights and freedom of choice. Don't you know many of us (and I include myself) have made choices that we are not proud of and would not flaunt them publicly? Why flaunt your poor choices in public? So why must these folks (Jews and non-Jews) demand that we accept this public exhibition in the name of equal rights, freedom of choice and tolerance? In my view, this is not a good choice. We all make bad choices in life. Keep your poor choices private. That is all I am saying here.
48. # 32 Simon (Citizen X)
Thomas   (06.17.08)
"please show us the evidence of people as you put it flaunting thier privates" - I never said that. I said you flaunt what other people consider to be a personal matter, in other words, your sexuality. That's absolutely true. I watch the TV news enough to have seen what goes on and it's inappropriate. And as long as there are gay people who don't consider other people whether it be offending the civil-minded or using blood donation centers for AIDS testing , people like me will continue to speak out as well.
49. #33Simon the queen, if you are as proud of being gay as you
say, then strut your ,   stuff in Tehran!!!   (06.17.08)
50. # 45 Karen the convert
Simon ,   TA the free city   (06.18.08)
Well well we can always relie on you cant we to dish out the hatred towards your fellow jew. FYI i will be in Jerusalem, may be you can spot me i ll be in jeans and a shirt and have short hair,Hope it wont offend you to much i promise not to have love by the kottel. i as a gay man do not live by the Torah or its rules and dismiss such bible quotes as a primative religious superstition. SO please dont try to inflict your life style on others and claim the moral highground while your friends are attacking women, throwing acid in a young girs face for the hideious crime of wearing jeans and abusing and torturning young children. let he who is without sin cast the first stone - Jesus Christ
51. Gay stuff
Jean H ,   Martinsburg, WV   (06.19.08)
Why does the minority group of 'Gay" and "Lesbian" have the total right to FORCE their lifestyle on any one? No one should receive 'Special rights". I read that only 10% of Israel's population adheres to the gay life style... it stands to reason that if so many are against the parade then don't have it. In Tanach when the Babylonians and Assyrians took over Israel, they also thought the Torah was primitive religious superstition... guess what It proved true. Heal yourself through self control, do teshuvah and return to Torah. Only Othodox (not overly orthodox) judaism is the proper path.

Sean ,   Montreal, Quebec   (06.19.08)
Reread what you rhetorically asked. Can you be serious? Do you actually think that gay people are forcing their lifestyle upon you? And you further believe that because they are a minority then then they should be excluded from freedom of assembly? Where exactly would that put the Jewish people? Are you of the belief that the majority of people in a democracy are in favor of having women being forced to shave their head, wear wigs for the rest of their lives and be prohibited from public education because of some male patriarchs interpretation of one single book? What then should the majority do ?Do you even know the etymology of the word holocaust ? Are you even remotely aware of the symbiosis of your thoughts and those held by many Europeans in the 30's and 40's? Your discomfort and fear of homosexuality flies in the face of what nature tells us. Its only justification in Leviticus. Let such a G-d look upon it as an abomination. To that G-d I say : I find pogroms. the crusades, the inquisition and Shoa to be an abomination. If we permit people to abrogate the rights of others because; they are in the majority ,or are so delusional they believe they have the power, grace and humility to impose G-d's will , we abdicate the right to complain when others come to stomp out our rights. I truly hope you would give rational thought toward reconsidering your position. Thanks for listening.
53. gay pride parade
debbie ,   strum, usa   (06.21.08)
Not only in the Old Testament but the New Testament also calls homosexuality an abomination and sin to God, we must speak up, not with violence but with the Word of God. There is a reason 2 men and 2 women cannot have babies, it is un-natural. Jesus said "you will not always have Me but you will always have my Words" In the Old and New Testament neither ever condones homosexuality. We are getting ever so close to the return of our Lord.
