1. What a privilege to sit next to the Dictator of Damascus!
Avraham ,   NYC   (06.17.08)
2. So what? Bashar Assad once shook Katsav's hand
Jake   (06.17.08)
when Katsav was President, at the Pope John Paul's funeral. Assad even claimed he used to buy his groceries from Kosher markets when he was a student in London. For all I care, Assad may have a massive poster of Dana International hanging in his bedroom. It is irrelevant. What matters is that Assad has outsourced the foreign policy of Syria to Iran, and has made Syria into the major benefactor and host of every terror group in the Middle East dedicated, in words and in deeds, to the destruction of Israel - from Hamas to Hizbullah to Islamic Jihad to PFLP to DFLP to Fatah General Command and beyond. All are either based in Syria, armed in Syria, or on the Syrian payroll. What is worse, Syria has said only today that it will never abandon these alliances, comparing them to the alliance between Israel and the US.
3. Slow down avec la Grandeur, Bernard!
Enzo ,   london,uk   (06.17.08)
Peace between Syria and Israel is good but we Europeans don't like to have Syria in the Mediterranean Union. And Gaddafi...!!! What's wrong with you, huh...?!
4. IT'S OFFICIAL... OLMERT JUST GAVE AWAY THE GOLAN..
stude ham   (06.17.08)
Or else how do you explain this absurdity of a mediterranean union...
5. Who wants to bet?
Billy ,   Burlington, Canada   (06.17.08)
Either Assad or Olmert will not show up! May be even both of them will not!!Assad has to get his master's approval from Tehran, and Olmert might not be interested in such a union that might diminish the current relations with EU. This new union might not be in the best interest of Israel who seeks a semi-full membership of EU/
6. A major obstacle to any peace agreement
Roy hatzioni ,   Israel   (06.17.08)
is the older generation's right-wing, extremists who are blinded by their longstanding mistrust, anger and misdirected passion. Love your country, yes. But don't be pessimistic about our future. The younger generation IS SICK OF WAR! Relax, take a deep breath, and sit back. You may want to fight until your last breath but we don't! So give us a chance to pursue a different path. Give us a chance to create an Israel that is NOT surrounded by enemies. Repeating "a good Arab is a dead Arab" will never do us any good. We are strong enough to put a little faith forward and try to create change.
7. Roy hatzioni, #6, throw out "land for peace" as well
Jake   (06.17.08)
"Repeating "a good Arab is a dead Arab" will never do us any good. " Indeed, that attitude should be regarded as defunct, just like the failed "land for peace" Oslo idol. The ceding of land is nothing but a curse for Israel, that will never bring peace nor security.
8. Asaad should count fingers after shaking hands with crook

What a pity you weren't around in1948 or 1967 because if you were your country would be a has been by now. But most of us know well how adept you leftist self-haters are at destroying every country you have set foot in. As it stands Israel will self destruct and soon. Have a nice ride to Dhimmitude, dude.

you sit down with dogs you arise with fleas. I wonder which one of the two will attract the most fleas.
12. # 10 Sandwiches
Sagi ,   Israel   (06.18.08)
you should note is spelled without a T but having said that I suppose in the company of two monsters and their henchmen a couple of witches would be quite in order.
