1. Israel ALWAYS loses during these "lulls"
MrLincoln ,   usa   (06.18.08)
All Hamas wants is to restock supplies, smuggle, smuggle and smuggle some more. They will then be in a better position to really do damage to Ashkelon etc.... This is a suicidal government that must end NOW A. Lincoln
2. could somebody explain please
Alex ,   Cardiff, UK   (06.18.08)
.. why it took seven years of blood death misery and shame, in order to understand simple thing - if you want to be treated well, do behave well. The answer is, certainly - they are not idiots. They are enemies temporarily forced to lie low. This is not end, unfortunately.
3. "Israel yet to resolve three problems"
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (06.18.08)
1. Olmert 2. Livni 3. Barak
4. level of violations
Stan ,   USA   (06.18.08)
If the cease fire goes into effect, Hamas will soon establish the level of violations that Israel will accept without response. Will it be a rocket every few days, or one a day. They will then slowly ratchet up the level to the maximum. Israel by not responding to the first violatins will be perceived as the one that broke the truce if forced to eventually its end of the deal. This is what we have seen in the past. It is a tried and true system. The way to counter this is that a single violation of the cease fire by Hamas will bring an immediate end to the agreement and a strong military response by Israel. Stan
5. Anti-Kassam Shmassams
Nora ,   Tel Aviv   (06.18.08)
We still have no anti-Kassams to destroy the Kassams in the air. So we try to gain time by accepting the Hamas cease fire conditions. My question is: If someone shoots at you, do you accept his conditions just because you have not developed an "Anti-bullet bullet"? Since when wars have to be so gentlemanly conducted , specially towards an enemy that wants to wipe you from the chart.
6. Gaza Ceasefire conditions
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (06.18.08)
I don't understand. Where is there any mention of the return of our soldier Gilad?
7. Now Israel Should INCREASE Her Own Demands.
Maansingh ,   The Netherlands   (06.18.08)
Quote :”The Egyptians have already obligated to this ..”. I think Israel should get much MORE out from Egypt. Egypt is afraid of the rise of Iran. Egypt needs Israel to tackle and keep Iran at bay. So, Israel SHOULD know that she is in a STRONG position -- and thus Israel can demand that Egypt should do more. IN OTHER WORDS : now Israel should INCREASE her own demands -- and keep increasing it.
8. only two things will not be changed
many ,   jerusalem   (06.19.08)
gilad will remain with his family .and egypt will remain with the palastinian israil conflict . others will be a movable stones from releasing palastinian prisoners to throwing rockets
9. This is Truce Number What???
MK ,   Philadelphia USA   (06.19.08)
I can't keep track of the number of truces and cease-fires over the past couple of years. Maybe my memory is deficient. Can someone tell me which number this particular truce is?
