1. And During This Fragile Ceasefire
DM ,   Amsterdam   (06.18.08)
Hamas will go in therapy and will learn how to love. They will accept the G'd of the Jews as their G'd and will accept the noachites laws... ROFLOL
2. Why not to include Olmert and Barak to the deal?
eli ,   eu   (06.18.08)
Let propose to Hamas and Hizballah to exchange those useless people to our captured soldiers.
3. No Gilad NO truce!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (06.18.08)
PM Olmert, you stated that there would be no deal without Gilad Shalit. The whole world saw and heard you on TV. PM Olmert, if you renege on this NOW, never mind the allegations of shady dealings, never mind the fiddles and the shenanigans, never mind the findings of the Winograd Commission. You will have lied to us all if you agree to a truce without Gilad being released. Mr. Olmert, Gilad is the son of Aviva and Noam Shalit but he is also my child and the child of every parent in the State of Israel, particularly those parents whose children serve in the IDF. If you betray the Shalits now you will have betrayed every parent in this country, you will have damaged the faith we have in the IDF regarding our kids and you will have destroyed what little hope that is left in the Kadimah party! Mr. Olmert, do the right thing this time. No truce without Gilad!
4. I bet it's all over before i finish writing this.

5. WEAK
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (06.18.08)
Being in Europe again, all I hear from the Europeans is how weak and ineffective Israel has become and that it has no deterrence left at all. People here are mazed at the stupidity of the Israeli government and are generally concerned about the changes of our survival here. That Israels elite Herzelists are on a collision course of disaster is even clear to the gentiles living here, unfortunally it is not clear to them.
6. A total misrepresentation of the truth.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (06.18.08)
This was a total capitulation to the demands of Hamas. Our government cannot be believed & certainly not trusted. Take a look at Debkafile today - if you can read the entire article without getting sick, you have a stronger stomach than I do.
7. Arabs have successfully sold the notion that terrorism...
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (06.18.08)
Arabs have successfully sold the notion that terrorism is 'resistance to an occupation.' The Hamas leadership and the Iranian regime are growing closer on all levels. Aid, know-how and equipment are simply flowing in. The threat to the State of Israel is growing exponentially in recent months, Hamas has been making vocal threats of the type heard from Hizbullah chief Hassan Nasrallah prior to that terrorist group's firing of rockets at Haifa and Hadera from the north, during the Second Lebanon War. "We will strike beyond Ashkelon," several Hamas leaders have declared at rallies and in Arabic-language press conferences. To understand what Hamas wants : http://xrl.us/bktwe
8. TRUCE? AGAIN?
MIKE CATO ,   USA   (06.18.08)
And so this absurd charade goes on, all for the sake of Oldmerde's handlers--the US, UN and EU and world anti-Israeli media. Either Israel end this madness now with TOTAL WAR, or it will die later. OLMERT DELENDUS EST
9. Read My Lips: No Shalit, No Truce!
Jeffrey ,   Boston   (06.18.08)
10. Will Israel have the COURAGE to keep the IDF READY TO SHOOT
Miriam ,   Israel   (06.18.08)
when the first rocket is fired into Israel which will probably (read, surely) be within 24 hours as the Arabs do not know how to keep their word/truce? Will the hopeless pair, Olmert and Barak, have the courage to do that? Wishful thinking!
11. Hamas defeats IDF
Sidney ,   USA   (06.18.08)
Cry the beloved country. Let us hope that there will be a different government when Hamas is rearmed and attacks with better weapons.
12. Lost in translation
Adam Eliyahu Berkowi   (06.18.08)
Actually, the hebrew word used is "regiya" (relaxing). It has been mistranslated as "cease fire" which is an entirely different phrase in Hebrew. I can only guess at what Hamas said and what it means. Maybe they said "coffee break".
13. This is a war - wars have truces
Noah ,   New York, NY   (06.18.08)
Why is everyone freaking out about this? Is Hamas really such a special enemy? Gaza is essentially a separate country (except for us paying the electric bill) and we are at war with it. Wars have truces. No one is fundamentally violating any special principles by engaging in such a truce. This happens all the time in wars.
14. Israel agrees "without Shailt"
I.Kemp ,   Nahariya   (06.18.08)
If Gilad Shalit is part of the deal then why is the peace agreement coming into effect and he is still held captive ? "Never have so many lies been told by a so many (especally the PM ) in Givernment for so long to so many."
15. Should A Proud Zionist Cry?
Dave Levy ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (06.18.08)
Okay, okay, let me understand the truce ("Coffee break"). Hamas regroups and beefs up it's military, Sderot residents can go out an play in the hot sun w/o worry, Olmert looks good while he is being investigated, and Condi is all smiles. Israel's iron dome defense is still purring along, and our (US) Congress appropriates 2.5b in more military credits for the next war. Bush goes down in history. Carter is saying, "I told you so". Obama will win the election (he advocates talking). Shalit is still bound up in duck tape...getting angrier by the minute. 1,000 plus terrorists will be released to inflict more harm on Jews. What is a poor Zionist to do?
16. Hamas 20,000: Israel 200. You Lose
Dave Levy ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (06.18.08)
Well, here in La La Land (no Sderot type worries or Kassams falling), the Lakers were pulverized by Boston, even though it has the MVP in the world. Jackson, the Zen Master's criticisms were drowned by Boston's tenacity and perseverence. Sound familar? Israel has Hamas under siege, It controls all the borders, the air and water, fuel and food. Israel has 200 nukes, 5,000 tanks, 5,000 artillery pieces, 700, 000 trained reservists...and Livni. Yet Israel as just trounced by Hamas loose 20,000 armed with RPGs and morters. Ho hum....two losers.
17. Our Political "leaders"
David Feigenbaum ,   Netanya, Israel   (06.18.08)
Was good old Harry Truman correct when he observed, "My choice early in life was either to be a piano player in a whorehouse or a politician. And to tell the truth, there's hardly any difference... I, for one, believe the piano player job to be much more honorable than current politicians".
18. ceasefire
John ,   USA   (06.18.08)
Let's make sure that the world knows who and when the cease fire is broken
19. Israel agrees to Gaza ceasefire
Jim ,   Jerusalem Israel   (06.18.08)
seven years missiles have been fired at Israel, and the best the government with the strongest army in the middle east can do is a six month lull, which is not a ceasefire but a calm by deception this government is the most disgraceful corrupted bunch of nobodies in the history of Israel
20. KEEP VOTING FOR THE LEFT!
Israel Stupid   (06.18.08)
They will keep your blood bubling.
