One Jew, one Jewish state.
2. BUY YOUR OWN ROCKETS.

ONE SURE WAY TO GET NOTICED AND PROTECTED.
3. kol hakovod...
(06.18.08)
We are all with you...we can't wait to see you come back...or shall I say, I can't wait until the government takes you back.
4. this wouldnt happen if we had a more democratic system
zionist forever   (06.18.08)
The government would have taken action to help the Nevec communities if we had a better and more democratic political system. The current system we vote for a party and the MKS are chosen on a list based on whose going to suck up to the boss most of all. The voter have no say in who will sit in the Knesset just what party and the party answers only to itself. If we had a system of where we vote for our MKS directly localy then the MK would feel an obligation to take action to make sure that their constiuancy is being represented in the Knesset because they know if they dont deliver then they wont be an MK next time round. We also need regular meetings between the local MK and the reidents of their constiuancy so the ordinary people have an oportunity to tell their MK whats their problem. Under the current system the best thing for an MK to do as they are told by the PM because he is the only one that has any say in the future of their careers I am all in support of the plans of these Negev residents. Government ignores their problems then the resident need to show unity and force the government to take notice. Governments are ellected to work for the people not the party.
5. The Western Negev
mark ,   raanana   (06.18.08)
This is the ultimate vote of no confidence in an inept, incompetent government made up of venal, disreputable men and women
6. They have the right idea.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (06.18.08)
Money talks. It isn't just the Negev communities that should have a tax strike, it's everyone. Not paying taxes could become a very popular idea..... The line from the American revolution was, "No Taxation Without Representation" - and we most certainly are not represented by this government.
7. Villain, the heartless "Deputy Defense Minister" hinted:
Miriam ,   Israel   (06.18.08)
The government has no intention to give a hoot about the Negev. A great step indeed you’re taking - to disengage from this government. Kol Hakavod! For this government who sympathize with Abbas and Hamas and their gangsters, the words from our Holy Sages cannot be refuted: “THOSE WHO HAVE MERCY ON THE CRUEL, WILL END UP BEING CRUEL TO THE MERCIFUL.”
8. Where do we sign up...
Adam ,   Raanana, Israel   (06.18.08)
The whole state should disengage from this government... Lets hope this leads the way to the dawning of a new era where Israelis are in charge of their fate, not a bunch of mobsters.
9. Ask Mr. "Negev developer" Peres
Nora ,   Tel Aviv   (06.18.08)
Peres`s mantra was and still is: We will develop the Galil and the Negev. Ask him what he did for the Negev.
10. I think it is a great idea
Leah ,   Israel   (06.18.08)
The Jews in the Shomron and Judea should also do this and break away from this anti-Jewish-left-wing-anti-Zionist government. They shold have their own parliament and bring in Jewish Law.
11. support
colin   (06.18.08)
Stopping the tax payments will not be felt by the cowards sitting in the knesset and not defending the Negev. The negev residents must use the same means and send some rockets inyo gaz a.The corrupt politics will wake up when the world starts crying that Israel is attacking against internation conventions. The negev residents have the know-how and to get the requirements Many americans will donate as much as needed to precure arms and rockets. Use fire to combat fire.
12. We're coming alive as a nation again. We're mad as hell &we
aren't gonna take it ,   anymore!!Rueben   (06.18.08)
13. Interesting...When the expulsion of Gaza was in the works
Al   (06.18.08)
many of these new found "upsetniks" were in the forefront of advocating the expulsion of fellow Jews from their homes, including the destruction of Shuls etc. What goes around comes around... Your Judenrat have sold you down the river and they simply dont give a damn. They can do that because they know most Israelis are too concerned with their daily pathetic poor lives to give a damn as well. Welcome to the new Warsaw ghetto, where most are busy worrying about who will come and entertain them and if they will be able to get the latest iphone. A pathetic nation sleepwalking to its own demise. Have a safe walk... The train is leaving at noon.

Joe Kaufman ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (06.18.08)
I'm 100% in agreement that political reform away from the Democratic Republic of North Korea governmental model is essential if Israel is to cleanse itself of such terrible leadership. This state of affairs could not exist in a country whose elected leaders were responsible to their constituency and not just to their party bosses. The country better democratize quickly before the world finds out the the Middle East's only Democracy is a bold faced lie. No other nation would tolerate such lousy leadership, they would throw them out of power and or hang them from the lamp posts. Woe is Israel that allows such madness to continue.
16. Not a bad idea
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (06.18.08)
Maybe it will spread. The Golan can declare itself a sovereign nation, as well as Judea and then Samaria. That way there will 5 Jewish states in the UN. We might be able to counter some the Muslim resolutions for a change
17. So Why No Civil Disobedience On Wide Scale Yet
Ben K ,   NY, USA   (06.18.08)
I fully appreciate the rage of the southern Israelis. Imagine in a country the south faced daily rocket barrages for years and the government just keeps promising major responses but never keeps them. it is clearly the Deep Mighty DUTY of EVERY government and army to protect the lives and well being of its people! Why not massive civil disobedience, for example like during the JDL Soviet Jewry protests?!
18. Good motives, bad idea
Seth ,   Gilo   (06.18.08)
Although I am 100% with the Western Negev States, I do not think it would be wise for them to separate from Israel! Israel is small already, to carve into it even more would be suicidal. Not to mention the lack of infrastructure in the south to pull it off. Israelis need to unite against their enemies, not divide. Citizens of the Western Negev, please continue to fight the fight. Government of Israel, would you please join them?
19. Upper Galilee communities were abandoned by State in '67
Jake   (06.18.08)
Despite the fact that these communities were frequently shelled by the Syrians up in the Golan Heights, Moshe Dayan was adamantly opposed to a confrontation with Syria, and even blamed these communities for coveting the water from the Golan. At the beginning of the 6-Day War, Syrian tank columns crossed into Israel at Banyas, and attacked the communities of Kibbtuz Dan, Shaar Yashuv, and Ashmura, and shelled Kfar Szold and Rosh Pinna. These attacks were repelled by local paramilitaries. Dayan changed his mind on the 5th day of the war, and decided to occupy the Golan Heights, as the IDF was freed up from the other fronts. However, afterwards, he was among the foremost voices proposing a return of the Golan to Syria, and displayed a contempt for the residents of the Upper Galilee, even blaming them for provoking the Syrians. (His quotes are often cited out of context by anti-Israel polemicists).
20. #17 Trust me, this IS wide scale for Israelis.
