ilan ,   ta   (06.25.08)
those religious people that engage in this are going against g-d's will and will receive punishment by trying to play g-d. this parade will get stronger and stronger in protest of the anti-religious, who, somehow think they are actually religious. these haredi make a mockery of religion.
2. forgot : ve'ahavta et re'echa kamocha ?

3. Edah Haredit rabbis said parade must be ignored

Whoever put up these notices is going against the rabbinical ruling and intentionally trying to stir up trouble.
4. The Parade Has Many Meanings
Adina Kutnicki ,   Israel   (06.25.08)
The real finger pointing should be directed at a community which is so 'in your face' and belligerent that they INSIST on having their lifestyle parade in Judaism's holiest city. The question is - why? What are their goals, and why do the authorities insist on giving their rights precedence over the majority in the city? Could it be that this is the MAIN way that the radical left authorities can strip away Jerusalem's Jewish essence, paving the way for the anti Jewish hold on the city?
5. Violence is wrong and so is the GLBT who are provacative
Mr Lincoln ,   usa   (06.25.08)
GLBT just HAS to do their thing in Yerushalyim, the ultimate slap in the face to those with religious convictions. You want acceptance? Dont do this in Yerushalyim. Do you want people to hate you? Keep it up, they will hate you. But you are probably okay with that because you hate religious heterosexuals. What you are doing is out of hate.

because it shows us how the "religious" are anything but religious. they are anti-torah. and i'm glad we all have seen this now. maybe they're not jewish? defintely they don't follow jewish law. sad day for israel when "religious" show they are secular.

11. GLBT's have a problem
Baruch ,   Boston, USA   (06.25.08)
The fact is that most, if not all, heterosexual people really don't like the things GLBT stand for. The GLBT crowd initially succeeded in gaining sympathy by saying they got beaten up etc. This was worth being sympathetic about. But, they've become so arrogant and in-your-face, as a result of the success they've had through sympathy that they are losing the sympathy. The anti-religious comments and accusations of homophobia if you don't agree with them are worse than their being called "faggot", "dyke" or whatever. They are truly obnoxious. And it's a losing battle for them. After all, it would be an unusual heterosexual couple who would say they prefer or even view equally a homo child. They may out of love accept it. But still they're disappointed. And who can look at two men smooching and think "isn't that cute? they're so much in love". No, it's repulsive, but straights try to be open-minded (not me, of course) out of fear of being branded as a "bigot" or a "homophobe". The parade is really the epitome of their arrogance. And the religous people who they attack are really the ones with good values. The GLBT's simply want to shut them up because they really know that they are correct. It's a losing battle and ultimately, due to your own obnoxious behavior, you GLBT's will be shunned as you used to be.
12. Why parade?
Besalel ,   Kew Gardens, NY   (06.25.08)
I do not understand the need to parade. Is there a parade for guys who like really big girls? Girls who like midgets? Women who like horses? Men who like amputees? Where does it end? Most people sexually prefer the opposite gender. Do we need a parade for heterosexuals? People have all kinds of fetishes. Some, like homosexuality, are more prevelant than others. But why parade them? You do what you do in your home and as long as no one is getting hurt, who cares? But why parade?
13. Y r u being sooo mean 2 these beautiful children?

14. THE FACTUAL ACT IS....
Factual Joe ,   Canada   (06.25.08)
1. one's sexual acts are personal and private no matter what one's practices are as long as it is legal and none offensive to the mass in the presence of the mass and does not happen during mass and is not a mass. Since when and where does one such as myself and you have to financially support another's sexual practices? I thought that there are laws against forcing one's self and one's ways upon another? What about us straight couples are we eligible for parade day? Can we have sex and flaunt out naked asses in public too?
15. #6 You're statement could just as easily be phrased thusly
karl ,   Los Angeles   (06.26.08)
The Jews just HAVE to do their thing in Israel, the ultimate slap in the face to those with religious convictions. You want acceptance? Dont live in Israel. Do you want people to hate you? Keep it up, they will hate you. But you are probably okay with that because you hate Arabs and Christians alike. What you are doing is out of hate.
16. not important
ilan ,   ta   (06.26.08)
to decide why gays want a parade. but if you want to think about why the ywant one, because it's FUN. if you're straight and want one, great - go have one. i love how everyone neds to think about why gays want a parade and they always say the same things 0 "do straights have a parade..." who cares? they're fun and we're gay and like them and want one and that's that. get over yourself.
17. Pride Parade
elisheva ,   CT South Africa   (06.26.08)
Where does the Pride come in ?according to the Word of G-D it is an abomination ! Why Jerusalem of all places? Is this to challenge Almighty G-D that you will do what you want to do? You will reap what you sow! May Ha-Shem have mercy on your souls!

22. Gay people are some of the most
Che Vive ,   Ghetto Beach, U.S.A.   (06.26.08)
discriminated against people in history. The history of discrimination against them extends over the entire course of human history. In addition, these gays in particular are Jewish, and have endured the discrimination accorded to the Jewish people throughout history as well. Clearly, they deserve their own homeland to secure them against future persecution. Clearly, because of their religious convictions and ties to the land, this homeland can only be in Israel. It is therefor necessary that for the safety and security of the gay Jewish people a homeland be established for them within Israel with Jerusalem as its undivided capital. Jerusalem must become the gay Jewish capital of a gay Jewish state! No straights allowed! Kick the terrorist orthodox out! It is G_d's will! Or alternatively, you could secularize and let everyone in (including Palestinians) regardless of race, religion or sexual preference, etc. Tolerance might even make it a holy city in more than just rhetoric. ; )

24. #12, the need for a parade
INCognito ,   Brooklyn, USA   (06.26.08)
1. Guys who like big girls, midgets, amputees have none of their rights curtailed as long as the object of their affection/lust is of opposite sex. No court will tell them "No" just because of some special fetish one of them has. (Women who like horses is a different legal situation that just can't be compared - because a horse can NOT give its consent as a legal entity.) 2. The parade of heterosexuals is not necessary, because (1) everyday life in any society is a 24-hour hetero pride parade (just turn on the TV, open a newspaper, walk down the street in any city outside of TA), and (2) none of the rights of heterosexuals (that gays demand) is being curtailed (the opposite is true; they enjoy rights LGBT are denied). Homosexuality is as much a fetish as heterosexuality is. But the question is not of fetishists demanding rights. The fact is that a heterosexual couple into SM will not be denied their right to marry just because they are into SM. However, two guys won't be able to marry each other in Israel, precisely because they are two guys. That's why the parade is a necessity to demand equal rights.
25. #14, interesting question of support through taxes
INCognito ,   Brooklyn, USA   (06.26.08)
Joe, you raise the issue of supporting another through taxes. 1. Married heterosexual couples are supported by the tax contributions of LGBT couples, because they have legal recognition as married couples and are given a number of tax benefits, services of the rabbanut (marriage) that are also subsidized by the same-sex couples that are not recipients of this service. 2. The religious in particular have many children. This, most people would agree, is a result of their personal sexual practices. Because the religious do not use condoms, the rest of Israel is supporting religious families with many children, which simply can't provide for themselves, because the husband is busy studying Torah (and not working like the rest of taxpayers). Why should gays and lesbians support these sexual practices? 3. If you look at the pictures of what really happened at last year's Jerusalem parade, you will see no one was having sex and no one was flaunting their asses in public. So, your allegations are at best uninformed and at worst sinister.
26. Even though homosexuality is not a disease
E. Rauch, MD ,   Bnei Brak, Israel   (06.26.08)
according to the WHO, it is considered a disease by the majority of physicians and nurses (in Israel and in the U.S.). In the medical literature there are descriptions of hundreds of cases which were unexpectedly cured after treatment for other diseases (anxiety disorders, mood disorders, schizophrenia, epilepsy, ...). This is very encouraging. We have no doubt that a cure will be found as soon as sufficient funds will be invested in research. Strangely, the patients do not demonstrate for more scientific research. Imagine that chronic diarrhea patients parade against medical research and for the acceptance of chronic diarrhea as normal and healthy.
27. It's on their Chesbon
Rivkah   (06.26.08)
They are the one's who have to answer to HaShem for their non-torah behavior. It is written in the torah same sexs should not lay together, amongst other things man should not lay down with.

29. #15 Really? Do you know me, know anything about me, know
Rueben ,   Israel   (06.26.08)
where I live, know where I go to work? How many times a week to I go to school events with my children? How many times do my wife and I go out to dinner & a movie? What time do I wake up in the morning to go to work? Do you know who my neighbors are? Are they Christian, Jews, or Arabs? Do you have proof either way? Do you even know if my children go to the houses of Christians and Arabs and play with their kids. When my family has a picnic do you even know who we invite over to share a meal with. I am a Jew. Why would I not want to live in Israel. I was born and raised here. Do you even know why I made that statement? The news reported that there has been an 80% jump in hiv patients, with the MAJORITY of those being homosexual males. They are having a parade where they pride themselves for being that way. That parade is to take place on a new bridge that will be opeining up. Now, with the news of such a HUGE jump in those injected with the hiv virus, why would we not want to wear protective clothing? If they are that careless not to protect themsleves while engaging in sodomy, why would I even begin to expect them to be mindful on not spitting on the ground, spitting on people by mistake, cutting themselves accidentally and shaking hands with someone who has a cut? Yes their PRIDE will kill them, but I'll be damn if I let them kill me and those around me! So if you don't like what I say, keep your nose out of my country's business, and tend to your own country's business.! So you have already judged me and know not one thing about me. So who really is hating who here?
30. Even more reason for the parade to go ahead
Talula ,   Israel   (06.26.08)
These primitive, backward plebs need to learn that they cannot dictate what is allowed and what is not allowed in a free democratic state. To my mind, THEY, the haredim, are an evil violent abomination. They repulse and disgust me, and always will.
