The UN has already decided Israel is the truce-breaker. So Olmert's strategy of appeasing the nations has failed. The IDF was the first to break the cease fire by firing upon Palestinians farmers on multiple occasions, so if the Israeli government cannot even control its own army, it certainly cannot point fingers at Hamas. Had Israeli soldiers not broken the cease fire first by shooting at Palestinians would not have responded with rocket fire, but if Israel is not going to honor their commitments once again, you have to expect the Palestinians to respond in kind.

Hamas said from the start before this so called truce came into effect they would not end smuggling, they would not hold other factions to abide by it just encourage and its a truce for tactical purposes These are the term Olmert and the defense minister Barak knowingly agreed to and even though this is going on they are preparing to release murderers and are increasing supplies of things like fuel.

You cant compare Olmert to Jimmy Carter. Jimmy Carter is an antisemite and he really belives all the crap he comes out with Olmert is a corupt politician doing everything to hold onto power as long as possible and he is looking for a nobel prize whatever the cost to Israel to satisfy his ego.
