the best thing for israel is to end this period of military build up for hamas which they publically say they will use to strengthen themselves for the next round. like hezbollah between 2001 and 2006, this group plans to use this period to arm itself. the longer the hamas fungus builds up, the tougher it will be, and the more lives it will cost, to clean it up eventually...which, like in lebanon, proved to be inevitable and unfortunately required more stamina than Olmert and his governement had.
