1. this government will destroy israel
(06.29.08)
2. CONSCIENCE AND RESPONSIBILITY
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (06.29.08)
With Olmert using these terms, one does not need to worry that this irresponsible and lack of conscience government will take any proper decisions. But we do have to realize that we will deal with enormous repercussions in the coming years. And in keeping with our fine political system, these same people lacking conscience and responsibilty , will not be held accountable in any way or form. Better yet they will enjoy there financial gaines and will be esteemed soundboards for Ynet and other great israeli media. So much for our brave new Herzelist world view.
3. Chief military rabbi V Olmert --NOW WHO IS CORRECT ?
YITZAK BEN SHLOMO ,   Singapore   (06.29.08)
Something FISHY- I feel it ! the whole excahnge is going to take an UNEXPECTED TURN :-)
4. MKs should weigh consequences of this deal
Millie ,   Israel   (06.29.08)
Many Israeli civilians all over the country will die because of this bad deal.
5. Prisoner swap, conscience and Olmert
I.Kemp ,   Nahariya Israel   (06.29.08)
Well, it's been established by the PM's actions that he certainly has no conscience so where do we go from here ? More charades and hypocrasy no doubt
6. don't swap live terrorists for dead soldiers
Alex ,   UK   (06.29.08)
Claim unequivocal sign of life. Or visiting prisoners by mediators. Otherwise, - there are several Hezbollah fighters buried in Israel in 2006, change them for soldiers' remains. Dead Jews shouldn't become new currency in the Middle East.
7. For sure!!!! After Shalit is swapped for terros,MORE kidnaps
Alan ,   SA   (06.29.08)
8. We must stop this pratice...
Daniel ,   Israel   (06.29.08)
Of sending our petrol looking at one direction that is, front and what ever shadows go in to eyes of sidewalks. We must have another vehicle looking backword and ready to fire at any movement in bushes around, With clear instructions to kill if necessary! or give them cameras looking behind. This way we will stop mayny abductions in future.
9. Further Abductions
Brod ,   USA   (06.29.08)
Such a deal will certainly embolden the Islamist-Jihadists to indulge in thuggery and further abductions.
10. "Dozens of people rally" - very serious!
redmiike ,   Tel Aviv, London, LA   (06.29.08)
I can't imagine any other country in the world that would consider 'dozens of people" - a protest. Mike
11. Defense officials: Swap deal will prompt further abductions
Yhonatan ,   Jerusalem   (06.29.08)
I think the thought process of our officials is corrupt and rotten. Why are we playing this silly game of capturing the enemy putting them in prison feeding them giving medical treatment and a life-style better than they ever had then release them?, does anyone think for one minute these people have changed and want to live in peace with us? Olmert not long ago released a whole bunch for nothing in return a gift to Abas, Today will be a gift to Hizbullah and tomorrow a gift to Hamas. Then change the policy. No live terrorist prisoners.
12. Olmert announced that they are dead
Mike ,   Jerusalem   (06.29.08)
So we must return Kuntar in the same condition., in a body bag! Arresting live terrorists is stupid, they are only bait for more kidnappings
13. A decision that might cost hundreds of victims.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (06.29.08)
Who will be responsible for the victims killed and injured ant/or kidnaped by the Arab murderers as the consequence of the released Arab prisoners in exchange for Shalit, Regev or Goldwasser? The Shalit family? The Israeli politicians? What will they have to tell to the families of the victims?... Real leaders have plenty of power in the refusal to bargain. A leader should be strong and courageous! More over the problem of kidnaped soldiers at : http://xrl.us/em3de
14. How many Israelis must die?
Sidney ,   USA   (06.29.08)
To satisfy the families of Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev. These people have no regard for the lives of others and it is time that they be recognized for the very selfish people that they are.
15. Return Kuntar's corpse
Jeffrey ,   Boston   (06.29.08)
for Israeli soldier's corpses. And if he's returned alive make damn sure a mossad agent puts a bullet between his eyes in Beirut.
16. Olmert again recommends giving something for nothing ..
redmiike ,   Tel Aviv, London, LA   (06.29.08)
How much longer must we suffer this clown?! We need Mazuz to issue and indictment - now! Mike
17. Israel will do exactly as Hezbollah want.
Soldja   (06.29.08)
All of you will see Israel will do exactly what Hezbollah wants. Hezbollah 3- Israel 0.
18. 14 # show a little respect
limor ,   tel aviv   (06.29.08)
i think you are in no position to judge those people who have been living two years not knowing where their sons are and if they are dead or alive. show a little respect and do not call them selfish!
19. Israel's Leaders Profoundly EVIL if they provide Islamics
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (06.29.08)
with a HUGE new army of set free Muslim terrorists who have dedicated their lives to murdering infidels in the cruel global jihad against innocents. Ruthless Olmert REFUSES to demand the release of hero Jonathan Pollard who is jailed for life by the U.S. for protecting Israel/the Free World from Muslim terror attacks. Olmert and his friends prefer to set free Muslim terrorists rather than Jewish heroes. Under INTENSE U.S. pressure, Israeli rulers treasonously signed UN Resolution 1701 greatly weakening Israel's security and wickedly did not even demand and receive the return of the three captives for agreeing to Resolution 1701 which severely damaged both Israelis and Lebanese facilitating the violent takeover of Lebanon by Hizbullah - Iran-Syria's terrorist army.
20. A day of disgrace
Millie ,   Israel   (06.29.08)
We are all targets now, thanks to a "government" with absolutely no conscience or moral fiber.
21. Giving back
Poppy   (06.29.08)
EVERYONE SHOULD GO OUT INTO THE STREETS AND PROTEST THIS GOVERNMENT MUST FALL BUT IT WILL ONLY HAPPEN IF EVERYONE WHO LOVES THE COUNTRY STANDS UP AND BE COUNTED. SOMEONE SHOULD START ARRANGING THIS PROTEST IMMEDIATLEY LETS SEE WHO IT IS GOING TO BE
22. This is NOT the end of this "painful" period
Arie ,   BaGolan   (06.29.08)
This is the beginning! Expect more kidnapping attempts; expect more civilians killed because the dictatorial olmert/vilnai/livni/barak regime doesn't care for anything other than remaining in power. The kidnappings to them were an unfortunate distraction that kept them from their ongoing fund raising and building their personal wealth
23. Bad deal goes through
J K ,   NYC, USA   (06.29.08)
I guess I can't 100% blame the government for approving this deal. It's more of an emotional deal than anything else, but they gave up far too much for it and it will only lead to great problems down the road as terrorists will be further encouraged to kidnap. On to Shalit, I guess, but I dont see what will now stop Hamas from raising it's demands.
24. Deal without a War
Yossi   (06.29.08)
This agreement could be done in 2006 before the war!!!!
25. Bring Down this Impotent Government!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GAbriel ,   Montreal   (06.29.08)
26. SWAPS
Ray ,   USA   (06.29.08)
It is sad that Israel has become the number one :cave in to terrorists" in the world. Anyone who has lived even a little while knows that to pay off gangsters is the path to disaster. LIGHT UNTO THE NATIONS that we all looked forward to ? Don't make me vomit.
27. a great victory for hezbollah
cordier   (06.29.08)
A great victory for hezbollah. Nasrallah has said that he has kidnaped these two soldiers just to liberate kuntar. Great victory for him. Why to send soldiers to liberate captives if the israeli government find more easy to liberate terrorists. the terrorists liberated by Israel must be captured or killed again, how many soldiers will be killed just for that ? Olmert and his government are politicians who just want spin photo ed and are ready to capitulate for that.
28. holding cluster bombs maps as bargaining chip in the deal
observer   (06.29.08)
exactly!, Israel is negotiating from a moral high ground.
29. national heroes
Alex ,   UK   (06.29.08)
..those who went from peaceful homes to reserve duty and died defending their country ..and the one who invaded neighboring state, killed civilinas, shot unarmed man in front of his 4 years old daughter, and killed the child by breaking her head. Skum of the earth, if I may. (..but, there should be some differences between warring sides and their heroes, anyway..)
30. WHAT A SUSPENCE
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (06.29.08)
Like this was news, for some strange reason Ynet still thinks that they are reporting a ongoing democratic process of decision making. The clique that runs this dictorial state for the past 60 years, has a history of one failure after another concerning "deal making". The price always ends in wars and bodybacks for us the plebs. This whole media staged government show is one big joke on our account. But in honesty our leaders are there by divine decree and are just a reflection of what kind of leaders we deserve as a nation. Looking at what we have got right now we are pretty much cursed and the near future looks even darker.
