Call me insensitive for saying this, but Karnit Goldwasser is cruel and selfish. Although I sympathisze with her loss, she is cruel to the next soldier who gets kidnapped because of this bad deal, cruel to the victims of the next terror attack that these cold blooded killers commit. If dozens more are murdered by these men, what exactly have we accoomplished? Last night my husband said he can't blame her. I said, what will you say when it's your son who gets kidnapped? These two men are dead and there isn't anything we can do for them. All Jewish martyrs go straight to the World to Come, so if they aren't properly buried it's not these worst thing. It would have been better to name a school or street after Regev and Goldwasser. As for Kuntar, he should have been hanged from the highest tree thirty years ago.

That the media openly supported all this public weeping and pleading put pressure on an already weak and capitulating gov't. It is positively scandalous that Olmert made a weepy show of it with Karnit. We can feel sorrow for the pain of the families, but allowing them and the media to "run the show" is a huge mistake that will boomerang and bring pain and suffering on all Israelis for a very long time. Only a complete about-face by the government for a restoration of the tough policy of no negotiations for hostages/POWs/KIAs can put a full stop to this tragic charade.
