1. The way Israel treats Heroes!
Yonatan ,   Nahariya   (07.01.08)
Another case of warped justice. When you show mercy to the cruel you will be cruel to the merciful. They forgot to mention the arab in question was involved in terror plots against Israeli citizens. I would hide the officer from the false justice of our corupt leaders and left wing legal system. Our country still uses the british administrative detention to hold people without evidence (read false imprisonment) and our courts like our leaders are full of graft and corruption. ls you are a radical shalom achshav activist you don't have a Chinamans chance in hell of getting an impartial trial in Israel.
2. Congratulation to this officer. Hero.
Rick ,   NYC, USA   (07.01.08)
3. #1 & #3, are you sick?
Maks ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.01.08)
The guy killed an innocent, so he should be in prison. We are still a democracy..... Don't come me with what the Arabs did. This young guy did nothing. If we can't enforce our own values on our value how can we expect them from others?
4. #1, who made the Yanai and the other three judges, juries,
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (07.02.08)
and executioners? Who allowed them to take the law into their hands, regardless of what this 17 year-old Palestinian *supposedly* did? They're Border Guard police, Yonatan - they have rules about their conduct and actions. These fools didn't act as Border Guard. What they did was take a "suspect" into custody without having received orders (that's the same as saying that they violated their standing orders, in case you didn't work it out), not to mention abusing said "suspect" and then dumping him out of a speeding car - those aren't heroes, they lynched the Palestinian kid. And out of their own stupidity, they also ended up killing him. The only reason Yanai Lalza wasn't charged with murder was because he just wanted to hurt the Palestinian kid one last time when getting rid of him, not actually kill him. We have standards in our army, Yonatan. High standards. The same standards apply to the Border Guard police. I don't care how stupid our political leaders are or how left-wing our legal system is - you *don't* take the law into your hands, otherwise everyone will. And have you ever lived in anarchy, Yonatan? Or did you somehow neglect to notice what went on in the West Bank during the last Intifada? Or in Gaza during the riots and the Hamas coup? You want that in Israel proper, Yonatan? Complete and utter chaos? Think about that for a minute, why don't you. Please do. And don't give criminals on our side of the border a positive view just because they happen to be *ours*.
5. DUH? NOBODY DIED AT ALL !
Factual Joe ,   Canada   (07.02.08)

7. Jews should kidnap some Arabs,,,
Mordechai   (07.02.08)
kill them in cold blood and offer to give Israel back the bodies if this man is released back to his family. After all if it were the reverse Israel would certainly free a killer of Jews of Arabs kidnapped Jews murdered them in cold blood and offerred to return the bodies.
8. ANSWER TO #5
ROLAND SEENER ,   LONDON ENGLAND   (07.02.08)
HEBREW HURTS BECAUSE I AM TRYING TO LEARN IT,AND THE WAY I SPEAK IT...IT IS A CRIME...SO THERE!
9. # 4 Roman - you are full of it.
Don ,   USA   (07.02.08)
# 4 Roman you are 2 faced and practice double standards. You bash those poor patrolmen and judge them yourself with out of the hat points. Have you considered that the patrolmen are young boys that have been over worked for months and are faced with death daily all witnessing gore in their duty day in day out? Their work desensitieses them thus often leaving them numb emotionally and their daily reports of terror and hyped warnings from their commanders cause such reactions. They were railroaded by the courts looking to cure a common effect by making an example of them for others to come. They should be set free and granted disabled soldier benefits nothing less.
10. #1 that is disgusting!

12. Revolving doors strategy
Chanalau, Tova ,   London, UK   (07.02.08)
Anyone who does eventually get jailed for killing a Palestinian doesn't stay long; escapes, pardons, early release .... but hey, that's Israeli "justice" (terms and conditions apply).
13. #9, Don, two-faced, eh? Well it just so happens that
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (07.02.08)
I'm a serving officer right now. I know full well what their job entails. I also know that while mitigating circumstances (note the *may*, Don) could very well exist, they were far from "disabled". These aren't mentally unstable kids, Don, and nor does their job ask of them that they behave like neighborhood thugs or worse still, mafia "made men". What would have been next for them to try out, kneecapping? They messed-up. They messed-up so completely and utterly that they flushed their duties, military ethos, and standing orders down the drain, along with a man's life.
14. #12, still here Chanalau, I see.
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (07.02.08)
And still with all that hatred. How one person can have so much of it, and be so obsessive about it... sad.
15. YOU serve in IDF
IRAN#1   (07.03.08)
You are a criminal by definition. No need for courts, judges, jial, etc....
