1. Haredi hypocrites
Sidney ,   USA   (07.03.08)
They bug out of the IDF because they are too busy studying Torah but they always have time, even on the Sabbath, to engage in violence to enforce their rule on others.
2. Why are the judges in Israel SO CRUEL to religious Jews and
Miriam ,   Israel   (07.03.08)
Torah laws? Why is the Israeli court SO ANTI-SEMITIC? In the U.S. Jews never have to fight with the court like they do here. Then they wonder why Israelis hate them. http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3563596,00.html
3. orthodox riot
Marlene   (07.03.08)
It is alright to not want to have an autopsy but it does not give them licence to riot and damage property. They should be arrested like any one else and charged.
4. How come non where killed or even arrested..!!!
Rami ,   Nazareth, Israel   (07.03.08)
When Israeli-Arab rioted, blocked streets and through stones, several where shot dead and many arrested... how come when Haridi terrorists do exactly the same.. nothign happens to them???
5. Find the perp and shoot him
Billy Bob   (07.03.08)
End of story. No need to shit disturb a community because of nebulous legal concerns. If you allow the lawyers to dictate your lives you will be in deep trouble, It time to take concrete action and to rid yourselves of these cretins.
6. AUTOPSY IS A PERSONAL, PRIVATE DECISION OF DEAD OR FAMILY
gabriela ben ari ,   Jerusalem   (07.03.08)
Judges or police force CANNOT or SHOULD not force a Jew to violate Halacha. The rabbi, her husband opposes autopsies and that should be it. The dead cannot speak nor move nor do anything against it, yet she will suffer infinately. No respect for a citizen's religion? Aren't we sopposed to be living in Israel ! Talk about Secular cohersion !!! AS if the autopsy could help in any way.... you seriously do not need to be a rocket genius to figure out the reasons of her death In the meantime I wished police would do their job for a change. May be they could grab the perpetrators or maybe undergo a two weeks course on how NOT to chicken out in the face of a terrorist, and kill him fast instead of waiting for a 20 yr old to do their job while the stand idle.... I've got other ideas if they are so bored
7. Are they afraid one of their own may be guilty?
jason white ,   afula,israel   (07.03.08)
Extreme violence should be used to break up these demonstrations. Their leaders and others caught there should be exiled to gaza. Let them sit with their ham-ass brothers.
8. Back to the 18th Century
Jerry ,   Eilat   (07.03.08)
Perhaps all the fundamentalists in the world should live in one country Turntheclockback and there practice their weird existence that denies that we live in the 21st century. Their only compromise seems to be to accept monthly checks generated by computers to fill their pockets. The rabbis never seem to object to that.
9. i am sick to the back teeth with you lot
rashid ,   palistinian   (07.03.08)
why cant you behave like what we do believe me, if you come to our religion then it will be easier for you and we will say ahalan musaalan and welcome there is no much defference between your orthodox believe me and our way of thinking so come to us ahlan ahlan.
10. Gabriela and miriam
Bar ,   Israel   (07.03.08)
There are religious "rules" , but State laws have to be OBEYED first of all . It's not by rioting that you can obtain something .
11. mri instead of operating- was done in monsey
sara ,   brooklyn usa   (07.03.08)
12. #6, That is such B.S.
Jake   (07.03.08)
We are talking about a victim of murder here, not about a dispute between two neighbors over a tree that sheds pine cones. Since when is perverting the course of justice an article of Halacha?
13. #2
P ,   Philadelphia   (07.03.08)
It's neither antisemitic nor cruel to people not to give them everything they want. If justice requires an examination of the body, then the religious concerns about burial will have to take a back seat to that. People are free to have their religion within the limits of a secular legal system and society.
14. Most of you have never seen a body after an autopsy.
ecr   (07.03.08)
Jewish law is how the Jews always lived. It's not what some "democratic" government decided. Don't speak without knowledge.
15. #14, Oh really?
Jake   (07.03.08)
"Jewish law is how the Jews always lived. It's not what some "democratic" government decided. " I just wonder which system American Jews would prefer to live under. The democratic system as guaranteed by the US Consitution and Congressionally approved laws? Or the Biblical system and laws followed by the Pilgrims and Puritans?
16. 12 think ..
gabriela ben ari ,   Jerusalem   (07.03.08)
1) I WIIIISHHH with all my heart to see an ounce of justice lately, an autopsy will bring none 2) Would it be acceptable to you, say tomorrow the government dictates on everyone to cremate bodies after death, sine there is not a spare square metre left in this country? FYI cremation is also forbidden by Jewish law. Would your secularism go so far as to "comply" with this, if ordered so? Seculars fill the G-d less vacum with anything that washes their brain first. Autopsies in general don't serve much, and nothing wrong with letting this yemanite community live by their principles
17. Abu KAbir makes money on harvested organs, beware of "autops
(07.03.08)
18. #1,3,10 Unfortunately this is the only method this corrupt
Miriam ,   Israel   (07.03.08)
anti-Jewish court understand. Quiet and peaceful demonstrations does not accomplish anything with this anti-Torah government and judicial system who despise anything and everything religious. And #10: The courts in the JEWISH state have to obey TORAH LAWS FIRST and if they don’t, they must be replaced. This is a Jewish country and they may not go against the Torah.
19. #16. We are talking about a murder investigation
Jake   (07.03.08)
We are not talking about dictating to everyone.
20. In any murder case...
Soeren ,   Cologne/Germany   (07.04.08)
... an autopsy is always and definetely an absolute necessity – otherwise it's for the benefit of the murderer. One could poison the tea of the lady, she would die and nobody would even know that she was killed. In a modern police system the forensic specialist gives important informations to the criminal investigators – about how the murder was carried out, which methods were used and when exactly it did happen (which time) – and if perhaps even DNA of the murderer was found at the corpse... After all, usually police is ordered to fight crime – and gets support from several technical and medical experts (autopsy, DNA, fingerprints, ballistics etc. etc.). Is there no nation-wide law that rules the use of autopsy and enforces certain professional criminal investigation methods in Israel...??
21. Now arrest the violent policemen
therapist   (07.04.08)
Eyewitneses were traumatised by the police violence . I treated a secular Social worker for trauma after she saw policemen "misbehaving" in Bnei Brak.
22. Autopsy yes, but why by dubious Prof. Hiss ?
Elana ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (07.04.08)
23. Torah Law is Better than Secular Law
Brana Lobel ,   Israel   (07.04.08)
Hmmm. Fascinating to have a person from Germany, no less, lecture Israel on laws. Weren't you the guys who made lampshades of us, under your rules no less? Aren't you the country that gave birth to a cannibalistic engineer who ate a part of a living human a couple of years ago? Lecture on, German, hopefully to an empty room. Also the Fakistinian. Yes, your people are so wonderful. You don't need autopsies because you tear the bodies apart yourselves and dunlk your hands in the blood. Then you sell the parts in exchange for your murderers and drug addicts so they can go back to business as usual. What a great invitation to join your (excuse the expression) "religion". Hope nobody comes. Now for those of you who can actually think and count past your ten fingers, technological evidence is not required in every case of murder, esp. where the physical facts speak for themselves. This load of pseudo legality is most definitely an act of harrassment against a religious family. Unfortunately they apparently were not wired enough to get it dropped before it got to the travel to the autopsy center stage. I write as a former US hospital oversight official.
24. #23 Yes, Brana Lobel...
Soeren ,   Cologne/Germany   (07.04.08)
I'm writing AS A GERMAN, if you want so – but primarily as a citizen of a democratic, quite secular state which shares same values with France, Britain, the Netherlands, the U.S. and major parts of Israel as well, I guess. Furthermore, the first question shouldn't be where is someone coming from... but – are his arguments logical and valid?! By the way, I like to be a German. Finally, can you explain me what the holocaust has to do with the current events? Obviously nothing. I'm well aware of the historical facts and realities of WWII and the Middle East conflict as well. And I accept our responsibility. But this does not mean that we are sneaking shyly through the room bringing flowers and money – and then being quiet. Forget it. What you can expect – and what I expect from myself – is that Germans try to find a just and honest judgement of what happens... based on rationality, knowledge and facts. But in this specific case the irrationalism is with the haredim – which are the major source of irrationalism in Israel, as far as I can see. In the global battle between secular rationality and Islamic mysticism they are more with the irrationalists than with modern society. You've been an oversight official? Fine. Maybe you are right, that an autopsy isn't necessary sometimes. Even in murder...??! But why not leaving this decision TO THE POLICE...? Obviously initially they thought an autopsy might be necessary...?!
25. Do they even bother to convict murderers anymore?
Ilan ,   Ariel   (07.04.08)
No doubt he will be out in prison in a couple of years a most in any case. Any one remember Danny Katz? Killers either get early release or get traded for Israeli hostages. And for that they need an autopsy?
26. Soney Yisroel
Eli M ,   Monsey NY   (07.04.08)
I have never seen such hate toward your brothers as some of the talkbacks it realy hurts to read your comments. Dear Brother i hurt when you hurt but your hate must stop. try a little ahavas chinom (baseless Love) for change. Shabbat Shalom brother.
27. YEHI ZICHRA BARUCH
SARA ,   TEL-AVIV   (07.04.08)
To Soney Yisroel #26 The best talkback yet, is yours. Kol Hakavod !! However, it is very sad under such circumstances!! Good Shabbos !!
28. #23, racist rubbish
P ,   Philadelphia   (07.04.08)
You can't expect to hold someone responsible for other people's wrongs. What do you know about any given German's history that makes you think you can judge them for someone else from Germany's past's wrongs? Would you place all of Israel in prison for what the Lehi did? Shoah was a tragedy for humanity, but it is not and cannot be a flag for you to wave around at those who did not take part in it to judge each other.
29. Autopsy
eli ,   israel   (07.05.08)
Mob rule. So sorry that justice will not be done for the poor murdered woman.
30. After an autopsy
Eli ,   Israel   (07.05.08)
Dependent upon the rate of disintegration of soft tissue (temp, microbes, etc.) the body of this poor murdered woman will rot at the same rate whether it will be autopsied or not. Within a relatively short time it will be merely a skeleton. The whole stupid belief against it is horrendous; all of the Jews killed in the holocaust and burned will not be resurrected, no matter how pious or good (they can be mutually exclusive) they were?
