of the warehouse should be excommunicated from Judaism and jailed!
2. Israel Should bulldoze Palestinian Homes in retaliation
Likely Culprits ,   Planet Earth   (07.05.08)
Clearly Israelis must find someone to blame for this atrocity, and there are no better victims than Palestinians to take the punishment. Obviously the Palestinians developed a secret mold gas that caused this damage, and they and their family must pay for this crime.
3. And why this in the news? Dat is personal issue - is in it?

4. Welcome to Israel.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (07.05.08)
This is why we spent millions of shekels on the 60th anniversary celebrations. We should have been sitting shiva instead.

Rivkah   (07.05.08)
put belongings into storage in Corpus Christi, Texas, in the early 1980's. Three years later, when we were moving, I looked into the storage room and four inch cockroaches had eaten almost everything. They left the plastic, but that was about all. It was not mold to be cleaned off books and other thing: everything made from paper and cardboard was EATEN. I learned to check on belongings in storage more frequently and put out traps and bug bombs. When we had a basement, mold attacked everything in the basement. What could be washed could be made fresh again since mold washes off. But if you put moldy things out to dry, the smell never goes away. I found a spray can of mold retardant that I sprayed on everything that went into a cellar after that, but only washing with water can get that mold smell out. I carefully dipped papers in water and let them dry.
9. Israel's hypocrisy
Chanalau, Tova ,   London, UK   (07.05.08)
Israel attempted to make a big international stink about the destruction of the old buildings that had been used as shuls by the settlers after it abandoned them in Gaza. However when it comes to looking after the real Jewish artifacts, and not just a few old buildings left standing for propaganda purposes, the so-called 'Jewish State' couldn't care less.
10. How is it possible ?
bar ,   Israel   (07.05.08)
That books are in such a situation after three years , some of them at least . This had to be done intentionally , something i can't believe . Have they maybe brought some books from another place before taking those pictures ?
11. Gross negligence
Avi   (07.05.08)
I can't imagine a Jew doing this to another. Espcially to a group of people who have had to leave Gaza. This is no way to treat them, or the ritual objects in their shuls. The work in storing these items was beyond sloppy. The person in charge of sotring these materials apparently did not take seriously his responsibility. That this happened in Eretz Yisrael is beyond belief.
12. Pullout - yes; abuse - no.
Karen R ,   USA   (07.06.08)
The Gaza pullout was overall a good thing, although difficult for those required to move. However, this type of negligence is inexcusable. The religious feelings of people must be respected no matter who they are and Torah books must be preserved no matter who they belong to. The damaged articles must be replaced and an apology given for the negligence. And...someone must be held accountable, no matter how Byzantine the bureaucracy.
13. ALEX, #3: PLEASE DON'T TELL ME YOU CALLYOURSELF A JEW
SETTHERECORDSTRAIGHT   (07.06.08)
WHAT A DISGUSTING THING TO SAY. THIS IS NOT A 'PERSONAL ISSUE', THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT ALL JEWS SHOULD TAKE PERSONALLY, AS IT AFFECTS ALL OF US. YOU HAVE NO IDEA.
14. #2 you are an IDIOT!
sam ,   new york   (07.06.08)
desecrated holy scriptures are no joke,,,,,,,,for normal people. For you and your liberal leftist "save the earth from suv's" brethren yes this is a joke. got any more jokes? how about the holocaust ? any funny coments?
15. Gush Katif will always be in my heart
Hinda ,   SF Bay Area   (07.07.08)
Even though Sharon is no more the man he use to be - this in itself was a tragedy. Olmert could care less about his own people (this has been proven). But to have allowed this - why the people of Gush Katif (whom I will always hold on a higher plateau than any of Israel's corrupted politicians) will not go after both the government and the owner of the warehouse is beyond understanding. These were holy items to these people who only wanted to create and maintain a true miracle (which they did) even after the government appeases the terrorists and their supporters.
16. Pullout NOT a good thing #12
Hinda ,   SF Bay Area   (07.07.08)
How many lives were wasted due to this pullout Karen? Look at the mess that exists in the region today. It is a good thing that more rockets are being fired than before? Gush Katif WAS a true miracle in everyway. It was beautiful AND it supported 90% of all produce exported to Europe. Now these people who were self-supported are still awaiting for the promises made to them by Sharon/Olmert which have not been forthcoming. Tell me, do you support their not being able to live happily too?
