1. I dont care what the Syrians say, but what do the Druze say?
Suzanne   (07.05.08)
The Druze have a right to complain if this is indeed the case.
2. None of this rings true.
(07.05.08)
3. "Human Rights" and "Syria" are a paradox
Logic ,   Israel   (07.05.08)
4. The Golan – The security insurance of Israel.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (07.05.08)
One hardly requires the military acumen of Clausewitz to appreciate the huge military value of the Golan that gives Israel command over the approaches to Damascus and precludes Syrian command over the entire northern portion of Israel. This provides Israel with unequivocal deterrence, which has ensured that the Syrian frontier has been the most peaceful for over third of century – without Israel yielding a centimeter of territory. Only the moronic or the malicious could suggest that Israel would be better off militarily without the Golan. Nowadays, the Golan is an integrated region of Israel : http://xrl.us/bjvii
5. #4: You have a malicious prime minister.
Steve ,   US   (07.05.08)
Pehaps moronic.
6. Syrian lies: Golan Druse doing just fine
Millie ,   Israel   (07.05.08)
The Syrians think they can "Palestinify" the Golan Druse. They live fine, quiet, productive lives. Many - probably most - of them would prefer to stay in Israel.
7. syria concerns
alexi   (07.05.08)
Syria complaint against israel to un is full of garbage as usual. So, Olmert is trying to give back golan to regime that builds nuclear weapons, that supplies hezbollah with missiles, that hosts arab terror groups, that is loaded with other weapons of mass destruction so he can save his skin. This dirtbag who apparently taught his sons to avoid military service by running out of the country unless they have an excuse, has no concept of reality. Even Peres says its unthinkable. Israelis should protest his house and his wife who has moved him to this filthy politics.Olmert is a cancer to israel.Dror now says that he should have been kicked out. Now he spins that he is getting love letters from israelis. he is lying and spinniing his way to hell.
8. If they feel so "oppressed" they can go to Syria.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (07.05.08)
But I haven't seen a mad rush to escape Israeli "aggression" so I guess the oppression here is better than the oppression in Syria. I heard that the UN is sponsoring an international liars convention & Syria will be competing - their team has had extensive training & practices non-stop. Of course, they have an awful lot of competition from other Arab countries but they are confident of victory. This year's competition offers a new contestant - the government of Israel feels that it now has sufficient practice to join the competition & has been practicing diligently for quite some time now. The Israeli team will be composed of Olmert/Livni/Barak/Yishai & in an effort to further peaceful coexistence, the Arab MK's will also participate.
9. Druze and the Golan
Arie ,   BaGolan   (07.05.08)
My Druze neighbours are doing better now than ever in their existence. They have two concerns. One is that they would like to meet with relatives on the other side of the border. If Syria did not have a war loving dictator in charge, that would be achievable quickly. The other concern? They do not desire a return to syrian oppression knowing the abuse at the hands of the syrian military would follow. They are free to move around, earn a living, speak freely, and engage with us. Israeli freedom or syrian abuse. To them, the answer has become obvious
10. UN fact finding = oxymoron
Christopher ,   Boston, MASS USA   (07.05.08)
11. FORTUNATELY FOR ARABS YNET DOES EXIST TO REPORT PROPAGANDA
(07.05.08)
12. Why are these lies printed?
Jay3 ,   Israel   (07.05.08)
WHere is your integrity YNet? Its obvious most of theaccusations in this report are complete and utter lies. The land mines they are referring to are on the buffer zone........nothing to do with Druze land! Why didnt the reporter quote any Druze?? YNet needs to show more responsibility in who it hires to report!

And I suppose you think our own Bush is better? What a joke. Why don't you shut your mouth. You are an embarassment.
14. Typical Arab supremacism
Frank ,   Canada   (07.05.08)
Once again, Arab propaganda is presenting refusal to surrender to their blackmail as an agression. Apart for idiotic Americans and Europeans, who can seriously see these scums as peace partners.
15. 'Syrian citizens' conditions worsening
Daniel ,   Israel   (07.05.08)
This is your problem, you should have thought about it before invading Israel. What would you have done to citizens of Israel, if you had to capture Israeli land? You would have beheaded the males... as you had promised to your people before the war. Now; since ball is in your court; why you cannot take care of your own citizens? Absorb them and give them some land and jobs within your territory. Simple. You crying baby, going to Mama UN fore every little thing!
16. Nonsense
Brian ,   Flint, USA   (07.05.08)
Anything that Syria says is nonsense and politically motivated. They talk of the daily aggression that their citizens must undergo due to the Israeli occupation. They however always fail to bring up the most important piece of the puzzle...they launched four full-scale invasions from this "occupied" territory in the last sixty years. Why should Israel even consider pondering giving this territory back to Syria or even talking business with them when they still fail to sign a peace accord since 1973 and fail to recognize Israel as a state despite the fact that Syria was a state mandated by the UN only a few months prior to Israel's induction to statehood. The people of Golan suffer because of Syria, not because of Israel. The people of the West Bank and Gaza suffer because of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, not because of the Israeli aggression. If you cannot look at fact rather than deciding based on pure emotion, you should have no opinion on this matter. Period.
17. Jewish Agression
Leon ,   Grand Rapids USA   (07.05.08)
They dare to BREATHE !
18. Stop calling it "occupied territory."
BK   (07.05.08)
...you lost it fair and square. No other country in the world calls lost land "occupied" ....not even the Native American Indians. Get over it!
19. interesting....
truth ,   new york   (07.05.08)
why don't the oppressed "syrians" in the golan go back home to syria. That would seem the easy solution. stupid article.
20. ARABS ARE CLOSE FRIENDS TO ISRAELIS MUCH THAN THE WEST
Atilla Karagözoğlu ,   sees ttomorrows   (07.05.08)
21. cancel talks immediately
elimelech ,   shomron   (07.05.08)
how can israel ie olmert continue talks with syria in the face of these unfounded allegations? ie lies. Israel must in the name of selfrespect stop talks with syria immediately. the only reason for continuation would be if contiuning meant someone else's self--respect could be bolstered ie olmert what a price the country must pay for a damaged ego
22. Its the early formation for a false pretext for war...
Edward ,   New York, USA   (07.06.08)
the Syrains are distracting the dumbell Olmert with indirect talks while planning with Iran, Hezbollah, and Hamas the next war. Olmert should retire to Disney World, where all his fantasies can come true. Olmerts oxymoronic posture is "There is strength through weakness". Elect strong leadership before its too late.
23. Why even repeat what they say?
zach ,   US   (07.06.08)
