Phil ,   US   (07.10.08)
I'm confused because Hamas is our enemy while "moderate" Fatah is supposed to be a partner for peace. Under Kadima, Israel is helping Fatah security forces that will enforce a possible peace between the Palestinian authority (Fatah) and Israel. Yet these "partners for peace" are upset because Hamas arrested Fatah members for firing mortars at Israel. Isn't that special?
5. Fatah, our "peace partner" ....
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (07.10.08)
Yesterday, they were outraged because the IDF closed Hamas operations in the West Bank. They called it a "war crime" .... Today, Fatah thugs launched Kassams & Fatah is, of course, "outraged" & demands their release. To say that there is something very bizarre about our "peace partners" is putting it mildly. Fatah can only be considered a peace partner if you are blind, deaf, & mentally retarded.
6. About time !
Psalms 83 ,   selah   (07.10.08)
If Hamas will continue to take actions against those that violate the truce on thier side ...then Israel will be more willing to relax restrictions... Abbas needs to riegn in Fatah elements or his credability is Zero
7. Once again we can only rely on Authoritarian Arab leaders
Sam ,   US   (07.10.08)
For years, Fatah - the so called moderate Palestinians - engages in so called "peace talks" with Israel and is constantly undermined by Hamas Terrorist acts of violence. Yet, Fatah, did not act militarily against Hamas Today, Hamas - an authoritarian regime - seeks a truce with Israel and is undermined by Fatah terrorists acts of violence. Hamas arrests the Fatah terrorists in order to keep the peace. Once again, the only arab regime Israel can rely on is authoritarian...Perhaps Mr. Bush's plan to develop democracy in the middle east is a mistake
8. Role reversal
Jake   (07.10.08)
During the Oslo years, Arafat used to have Hamas terrorists put in prison, their beards shaved, and then shoved out the revolving door. Now that Hamas is in charge, it looks like they will imprison Fatah terrorists, force them to grow beards, and then shoved out the revolving door. Don't you just love these truces?
9. hamas
alexi   (07.10.08)
Whatever deal can be worked out with arabs, it is clear that hamas is can do while fatah is a bunch lying no can dos. Israel should not deal with Fatah. Any deals should be locals. As far as Hamas non acceptance of israel, ithey should be hit brutally with rockets and missiles when required to make its point. Fatah should be shipped back to tunis. Israel should cut a deal with the west bank locals.
10. gee gosh oh golly
eliezer ,   jerusalem   (07.10.08)
I thought that Abbas and his buddies were the good guys and that hamas and their buddies were the bad guys?! What happened, Abbas's boys are throwing quasaams at us too???
11. Pallywood
Jeffrey ,   Boston   (07.10.08)
Ourfart perfected the Hollywood style arrest. Put the terrorists in jail for a night, show them a movie or two, then send them home in the morning. Wart-nose comb-over learned how it's done. The more things change the more they stay the same.
12. Fatah is furious that Olmert has all but legitmized hamas as
Rueben ,   Israel   (07.10.08)
the stronger force. It is in hamas's best interest to show itself as the peace keeper in the region. In doing so, they expose the weakness of Abbas & fatah. Fatah knows this & will fire qassams to try to disrupt the peace. It needs to wrestle away this new image of hamas as being the peace keeper which filled the void in the vacuum of power during the lull in this stupid truce. It is no longer afraid of fatah, and will no longer recognize it any longer as a force to be contended with. But hey, fatah, hamas what's the difference. Both want to kill us.
13. al-aksa

Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (07.10.08)
15. Hamas terrorists are cowards
Vijay ,   India   (07.11.08)
The Islamic terrorist organization Hamas is very afraid for the Israeli retaliations. That's why they arrested their own members.
16. #1, Yep!! Can't beat them join them!.

lydia ,   Brisbane, Australia   (07.11.08)
The Hamas v Fatah see/saw was engineered by the jews. Israel takes turn in supporting one side against the other. However the components can't guarantee the same results this time now that Iran is in the mixture. Both sides are aware they are being used but If Fatah and Hamas doesn't cross swords soon and start decimating each other and instead pool resources, Israel is doomed. Talk Peace!
18. Whose fault ? Hamas arrests
I.Kemp ,   Nahariya Israel   (07.11.08)
I can only hope the "dumbest of the dumb" here will realise that it was Olmert and Kadima that took us to were we are and any Olmert replacement in Kadima (or Labour)would merely be following "peace at any price" with the population being expected to sit tight under fire while the Govt gives in again and again
19. "criminals" probably drinking champagne in cells.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (07.11.08)
20. #17
Jew   (07.11.08)
are you a moron some of the days or most of the days? engineered by Israel huh? I guess the Jews have also engineered the Shiite vs Sunni conflict as well. Have you ever noticed anything interesting about the arab world? Like, let's say, there's no peace between factions/tribes/etc...or has that fact flown over your head?
21. So, where do they buy these rockets?
PETRA ,   usa   (07.11.08)
Perhaps they need to invest in the basics like food and medicine first. Or, 'where can I buy a rocket'? may come from the civilian Israeli side.
