2. It will hurt every1 you imbecile !!!!
Talal Jaroudi ,   Lebanon   (07.14.08)
You will have Iran(Revolutionary guards), Syria(The Syrian intelligence & army), Lebanon(Hizbullah) & palestine(Hamas) trying to hit Israel. All US interests in Iraq will be destroyed because the Shia leader in Iraq: Muqtada al Sadr will unleash his army. The iranians will bomb Israel & US interest in the arab world. So basically every1 will suffer.... but Israel will suffer the most. ENJOY !!!!!
3. assad
fish ,   t-a   (07.14.08)
A weak leader of a country which is an economic and political catastrophe and which draws its regional influence for being a conduit and hub of various terror groups lectures the free world and calls US the warmongers, and the free world publishes this BS eagerly. Was Dr Hoebbels ever published in The Tines or Washington Post or Pravda for that matter? By the coverage of the western media a regular Western citizen gets a picture - Bush - idiot and warmonger, Sarkozy - a husband of Carla Bruni, Berlusconi - flamboyant fascist, but when it comes to the likes of Ahmadenijad, Assad, Qaddafi, Nasrallah - this lot gets a respectful attention and coverage of their attacks on the West and its leaders. Go, go, Western media! Bush - bad, Assad - good! Beeeeeeh.....
4. Assad: Iran attack, problem for US and Isr

5. what does that lemechl know?
Mike ,   Jerusalem   (07.14.08)
so much saber rattling. so many body parts gonna get cut off. The Ayatoilets and achmadinasheethead gonna cut off hands, Jesse Jackson gonna cut off Obama's nuts, what has the world come to?
6. Iran, the biggest danger to the Middle East and to the world
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (07.14.08)
An irrational nuclear Iran in the region is not conceivable. A stable nuclear balance of power/balance of terror in the Middle East would be out of the question (nuclear proliferation in the M.E. could never create the same sort of stable equilibrium that was once obtained between the USA and USSR). Israel must remain the region’s only nuclear power. Moreover, Iran's program should not become a powerful proliferation driver, building on regional rivalry security concerns and one-upmanship. 7. WOULD THE CONSEQUENCES BE WORSE THAN A PERSIAN NUKE?
stude ham   (07.14.08)
let us not forget for one moment that iran is run by madmen... and let us not forget the horrendous costs of the lunatics of history.
8. It's the opposite of what he says.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (07.14.08)
The dire consequences are if we do not mount a preemptive strike on Iran. Yes, there will be consequences - nothing is free. But the real consequences will be for Iran & those that support them. Like Mr Assad, for example. Assad has bet big time on Iran in the expectation that a nuclear Iran would provide him with security - meaning, he could start more trouble without fear of retaliation.
9. above
moishe   (07.14.08)
what a pity that Assad did not stay with opthomology! a waste of talent. so he becomes another politician cranking out meaningless rhetoric further contributing to the CO2 problem in the world. politicians should not be taken seriously! Arab politicians, especially, live in a dream world. the states they govern will always be in turmoil.
10. #2...pretty funny stuff!
DR ,   Florida, USA   (07.14.08)
Did you not see how easy it was for the IAF to infiltrate Syrian airspace and bomb their nuke site??? Syria and Iran combined are about as strong as one US naval destroyer...that's it! Iranians know that their leaders are leading them towards disaster...Syrians don't know anything b/c their gov't lies to them daily and you are clueless as well!
11. #10 DR it's not funny at all
Sherwin Kaplan ,   Philadelphia,   (07.14.08)
War is a terrible thing. But I like to be on the side that has Aircraft Carriers, Stealth Bombers, and Tactical Submarines. However in the end, truly good people do end up in harms way.
12. dr the idiot # 10 still seems to not understand the point
(07.14.08)
13. Bad idea to attack Iran
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (07.14.08)
Someone had ought to tell Ehud Barak to calm down. It would be a disaster for Israel if we further provoke Iran or continue to threaten them with an attack. The price for attacking Iran would be too high for Israel to suffer.
14. 2 - just imagine
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (07.14.08)
if israel (or america, for that matter) actually tried to target civilian populations in, say, syria, lebanon, and iran. allahu akbar, as they say?
15. "There is no free lunch..."
Marc ,   Nice, France   (07.14.08)
Of course, war is terrible. But intentions of the madmen in charge in Iran are quite clear : They *say* they want -Israel off the map, -nuclear weapons, and -missiles to deliver them at a distance. No doubt they want war, to export their jihadist madness, and no doubt they must be taken seriously. Then, if war is unfortunately to be considered unavoidable, what is the best ground to wage it ? Wait until we have to exchange nuclear fire, or act now, while we're still on conventional ground ? In other terms : Can we trust Iran enough to let these madmen in charge play with nuclear matches ? Sorry to say : Bachar Assad's declaration demonstrate it was a mistake to invite him for France's National Day. Iranian nuclear issue will not be solved by appeasement, blackmail, or threats. Iranian nuclear issue will only be solved by removing nuclear tail, and/or rotten head. And the option is not war or peace, it's war (conventional) or war (nuclear)...
16. Ahmandinjds hand puppet speaks again
zionist forever   (07.14.08)
We have on one side the perisan gorila threatening to destroy everything left right and centre if attacked. On the other hand we have his little puppet trying to sound reasonable and diplomatic why Iran shouldnt be attacked. Prehaps he knows that Ahmandinjad will force him to join as part of a coalition aganst Israel and Assad will find himself loosing alot more the the Golan when its all over and Syria has been humiliated.
17. He called U.S. a 'Warmonger'...
Scott ,   Haifa   (07.14.08)
What a liar! His state is the one that harbors terrorists, and Damascus is the base of Hamas...they don't even try to hide it.
18. Assad's position
Brod ,   USA   (07.14.08)
is clear. Syria cares more about Iran than Israel. Syria is in cahoots with Iran in crusading their Jihadism in the region and in attacking Amercans and Israel through their fanatical Islamist-Jihadist tentacles. And external forces are trying to manipulate Olmert into a one way street deal with Syria that will endanger's Israel national security interests. It is all a tactic of the Islamist-Jihadist world in the region to distract Israel from focusing its eyes on the Ayatollahs' nuke development program. It is time Israel stops being manipulated and distracted and starts focusing on matters that are imperative to her national security interests, survival and existence. Time is running out. Defending the homeland from the ravenous wolves that are hellbent on the destruction of Israel is a top priority.
19. 3 As, Will Get Big Fs (15, 16 and 18)
Dave Levy ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (07.14.08)
To Terry: 30m and 15m are the deaths that an Israeli strike will cause Iran and idiot Assad's Syria. Don't we notice since Israelis exercise how the rogue states have come out with the same statements. Their tactic is obvious, threaten Israel the most, while keeping the others on notice, that destroying Iran's nukes will provoke a war against Israel and US interests (40,000 suicide bombers from Iran will strike), besides hundreds of Shahad Missiles, and kASSAMS and Grads from Hez and Hamas. Yes, some rockets will get through, but Iran and Syria will feel it far worse, whether by Jerichos (Israeli) or US Tomahawks, B1s and B2s or F18s. This is just a game of chicken they are playing, hoping to dissuade an attack against Iran's nukes. You lose big time 3 A-holes..Assad, Ahmad and Abbas. 76 Israeli F16Is will work miracles..no more worry over collateral damage guys..this time it's for keeps. No more playing around. This is total war..and you lose, big time.
20. Redemption is in the fight
Evegeni ,   Ahskelon   (07.14.08)
There should be no delays made to attack the mullah entity. Everything should be done to prevent these bunch of suicidal fanatics to get hands on nukes. war should be a clear option, and the ennemy should be warned that any stupid move he will take afterwards, will lead to a amount of destruction never seen in this world since 60 years. I hope the mullahs will get the picture. Israel and the US are not afraid. Iran at the contrary should. We are ready to every possible scenario.
21. Talal Jaroudi
Norman ,   Angers - France   (07.14.08)
Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, you said... nothing. In a real war, this will be the "3 days war" before Libanon is completely destroyed, Syria a ridiculous arab country (one more time ;-) and Palestinians, as usual, the people who never lose a chance to make a mistake ;-)) A Iran ? Big mouth, ;-)))
22. stability is the key
Mark ,   jerusalem   (07.14.08)
as an outsider living in israel i can tell you all that you are all obsessed with war. god forbid a war should break out , there will be heavy losses to go around. Israel will take a lot of hits because of its geographical location but the iranians will suffer a lot as well. no one can say that israel wont hurt , thru the lebanon war small missles scared the entire north from their homes. imagine what a real war head would do. As for iran if they are lucky the cloud of smoke should subside within a few decades. Stability in the region is the key and a peacful world is what we should all hope for . We are all humans and we all deserve the same right, and that is to exist and live our own lives freely
23. America's plans for the next attack
Benjamin ,   Kona, Hawaii, USA   (07.17.08)
In the event that America or, Israel is attacked, our current strategic plans involve the use of 500-800 nuclear air bursts above enemy targets in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran and, Syria so, if these nations feel they would have some advantage by participating in an attack, better think twice. Not a blade of grass would be left alive in these countries.
