1. WRONG - PEACE THROUGH JOINT TRADE
Andrew ,   Miami, Fl   (07.15.08)
SYRIA IS MOVING TOWARD MODERNITY... RELAX - BUILD - AND GROW DID IT EVER OCCUR TO ANYONE THAT REAL ZIONISM CAN BE IN IDEOLOGY THAT IS EMBRACED BY THE ARAB WORLD
2. Sharon warned the fate of Tel Aviv will be that of Netzarim
Jake   (07.15.08)
I think this now-unfashionable "land for peace" fad is much like smoking. Once upon a time, it looked like the cool thing to do. But now, even though they write on the cigarette packets in big letters "SMOKING KILLS", there are still some people who insist on doing it.
3. What a freakin' idiot....peace is impossible ...
Andy ,   ramat hasharon   (07.16.08)
w.out returning the Golan - why? Because Syria says so? They will need to compromise if they want it so badly. Otherwise, let them remaint he pariah nation they always have been.
4. No Israeli PM will do that but...
Norman ,   France   (07.16.08)
but Olmert is born.
5. criminally insane traitorous gagster, olmert will do it

6. Assad will Never Give Peace!
Roger ,   USA   (07.16.08)
Assad can't even give peace to his fellow Arab nation of Lebanon! He continuously assassinates their leaders! You can give him the Golan but he'll continue to support Hamas, Hizbollah, etc. Perhaps not as openly, but his support will certainly continue. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool.
7. Haber the peace bargainer
David   (07.16.08)
Why the hell should a self-proclaimed Israeli patriot be doing the bidding of a Syrian dictator? Who asked Eitan Haber to dictate the terms under which Syria should agree to a peace deal with Israel?
8. You got it all wrong
Dan ,   US   (07.16.08)
You forgot to take ME into account, sir! I will never - NEVER - return the Golan to Syria. No need for another fake peace in the region and particularly no need to do this with their terror loving regime. Citizen
9. real peace
daat y ,   jerusalem   (07.16.08)
What drug did you take.Syria is arming Hizbullah but they want 'peace' with us?
10. Assad can relax...
The Doc ,   Haifa, Israel   (07.16.08)
... Israel will not ask Syria to pay reparations for attacking us during the Independence War and Yom Kippour War. We won't ask for reparations for inciting for genocide against Israel and for supporting Hezbollah and endless terrorist actions against us. We won't ask for reparations for plotting and aiding Iran in acting against Isael - effectively a clear Act of war. Assad can relax: we regard the Golan Heights as payment enough for Syria's on-going crimes agains Israel. He can also relax thinking that if he does not attack again, he can still keep Damascus! Relax Assad! Mind your own business and then you will have "lost" only the Golan Heights! We all hope you've learned your lesson!
11. Israel already once promise NEVER release Kuntar...
Citizen   (07.16.08)
12. Oh Mr.Haber is that realy your writing?
Geo ,   Canada   (07.16.08)
I use to think Mr.Haber good pragmatic thinker .This article more like written by sick minded settler. My dear Haber the time is not at the side of Israel, the time is not even at the side of America .Arab are relearning how to fight effectively and the old far ism is going away.Wait till the hole rageon will be dominated by Extremist Islamist s and backed up by nucluar Iran then enjoy. Hizbollah is not far away example yet
13. Giving away the Golan can only lead to a catastrophe!
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (07.16.08)
The Golan Heights will turn into the radical spearhead against Israel, and not only from Syria: People will be coming from Iran, Afghanistan and elsewhere. Terrorism will be two-pronged both from the Golan and from Lebanon. Life in the Galilee region and northern Israel will turn into an unbearable nightmare, worse than it was before 1967. About a million Syrian residents will be settled in the Golan immediately - The situation will be irreversible... Nowadays, the Golan is the safest region of Israel as explained at : http://xrl.us/bk9g2
14. Olmert will give it back...
Canadian Dude ,   Montreal, Canada   (07.16.08)
Or at least he'll try his darndest to do so, if that's what it takes to distract the nation and keep him out of jail.
15. Never Again
ilyse ,   usa/israel   (07.16.08)
will we fall for there lies.......... The Golan belongs to ISRAEL. When the US gives Alaska back to the Russians or the America's back to the Native American 's then America can talk. UNTIL then the American presidents and the rest of the world should keep there nose's out of ISRAEL'S BUSINESS. ISRAEL AND THE ISRAEL'S need to get tough - we need a leader like Golda Meir. She told the world to butt out and did what needed to be done for the benefit of ISRAEL AND THE JEWISH PEOPLE. ISRAEL needs a goverment that will NOT sell out the JEWISH PEOPLE. Until the ISRAELI PEOPLE GET TOUGH AND GET THERE ACT TOGETHER AND STOP TRYING TO MAKE THE WORLD LIKE US(BECAUSE THAT IS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN) WE WILL CONTINUE TO BE DISRESPECTED. The israel's of the 60's and 70's were respected and feared, FROM THE WORLD. Yes the world has changed and the bombs are bigger. But that does not mean we need to bend over backwards and take it. iSRAEL WAKE UP. Stop letting the world divide you up. Jerusalem is ours the Golan is ours. NEVER should we listen to people that have hated us and wanted to destroy us. IF the left does not like it then let them go live in Gaza or the West Bank OR move to Europe. I HAVE VENTED ENOUGH. I LOVE ISRAEL ALL OF ISRAEL...

Neville Chamberlain ,   London UK   (07.16.08)
So do NOT besmirch this man's reputation
19. When is the author going to apologise for his Oslo??

20. Anyone wonder what rank idolatry looks like?
Steve ,   US   (07.16.08)
Does anyone wonder what the idol-worshippers of old were like? The ones our ancient prophets condemned in the Jewish Tanakh (Bible)? The ones who proclaimed, "You will not see the sword nor will you have famine, but I will give you lasting peace in this place." (?) Read this piece carefully.
21. Mr, Haber's marching orders
Robert A ,   Beersheva, Israel   (07.17.08)
I don't know why the author of this article, who believes himself to be the bearer of both historical truth and his creator's patient will, has neither the desire nor the cranial fortitude to see the world as anything but what others have told and continue to tell him it truly is or must eventually become. What source does he rely upon as the source of truth or reality? I'm interested in reading his answer- or perhaps he's spelled his point out for all the rest of us in this dictum, as he has had it told to him by someone who cares simply that he knows what's what. How fortunate everyone shoud feel to finally hear how it has to be, and in such convincing detail, no less.
22. You ask why they hate us?
Moshe ,   usa   (07.19.08)
With this mentality, it does not need a rocket scientist to figure out why they hate us. Its time we realize that its going to be peace or land. We cant have both. We can either go for a genuine peace or see the influence of Iran grow and the power bas of Hezbollah grow stronger. Israel used to fight 2 or 3 different armies with a mentality of going to a picnic. Today, we can deny all we can, but we were beaten by a militia. Shortsightedness can will be harmfull to Israel if we are not careful.
23. Reply to #10
Moshe ,   usa   (07.19.08)
Keep up with this mentality, and our children will never know peace and security. Is that what we really want to hand down to the future generations? Lets face it, Hezbollah today is a fact on the ground and is getting stronger by the minute. Lets not deceive ourselves. Only a genuine peace that involves painful concessions is the solution to our problems. How many more fathers and mothers should have to mourn their children on both sides? Enough is enough. Peace now.
