31. Barbarians
Shimshon ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.16.08)
In my opinion the Hezbollah are not only Terrorists, but they are Barbarians. Good that we are not like that. http://www.shimshon9.com
32. To 24: Actually force does work
Dude   (07.16.08)
We just should have done on Beirut what the US did on Hiroshima. THEN I KNOW WE WOULD HAVE GOTTEN THE SOLDIERS BACK WITH NO NEGOTIATIONS.
33. To Mr. Conrad (the German Negotiator)
Sally Forth ,   Jerusalem   (07.16.08)
Sir, despite the great sadness felt at this time, there is still a need to say "Thank you, Sir!" for your tireless efforts in negotiating and securing the release of the bodies of our soldiers.
34. to the families "Baruch Dayan Emet" may u be comforted...
Sally Forth ,   Jerusalem   (07.16.08)
and may you know no more sorrow. "Min Ha Shamayim Tenahamu"
35. It was a bad mistake...
Carsten ,   Germany   (07.16.08)
...to take Kuntar and the other scum alive. This should be a warning about how to deal with a terrorist when you see him. Carsten Schmidt
36. Slow Poison for Kuntar before return
MM ,   Herzelia, Israel   (07.16.08)
An eye for an eye!!! We should have given kuntar slow poison so that he would return but die slowly after. How about giving him AIDS.... somehting that would give him a slow painful death! That's what he and all these Lebanese bastards deserve
37. Cries of horror....
ben yaacov ,   herzliya   (07.16.08)
and those who maintain perspective cry in horror seeing psychopathic murders freed and know that more will be freed in the future. The message is now clear, kill and hide a Jewish/IDF body until terrorists are released. Future terrorists understand that if they survive an operation or are captured they will be freed at some point in the future.... All kidnapped soldiers are now in peril as there is little reason to even keep them alive, as this in and of itself creates security problems for hostage takers.
38. Kuntar's Return
MaMa ,   Israel   (07.16.08)
Send the terrorist bak in a coffin!
39. Just for a second...
Mike ,   Boston, MA   (07.16.08)
For one second, at around 9:00, even though there were warnings of the soldiers' condition as posthumous, I felt like there was a chance that they would somehow step out of one of those SUVs, proving that there was some shred of hope that humanity still prevails. Sadly, we were all devastated at the image of the two coffins. Let us not only pray for the grief endured by the families of these two men, but also that one day, justice and civility will make their way to all parts of the globe so that the enemies of the world's civilized nations will have as much humility and compassion for the human experience as the rest of us.
40. A triumph for Israel and for morality
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (07.16.08)
Those who use this tragic event, to vent your wrath on the Government and the State of Israel while you sit at home and watch TV and bash your keyboard, are missing the point. The point was made a few moments ago by Ihud Haleumi Knesset Member, Brig. Gen. Ephy Eitam (Ret), on Israel Channel 2 TV. He pointed out that Israel is fighting barbarians in the form of Nasrallah and Hezbollah and a people who glorify death! These are sub-humans who deal in body parts and dead bodies, who thrive of making the lives of ordinary people, the families of their victims, a living hell. I would be ashamed if I was a citizen of Lebanon whose people are celebrating the return of Samir Kuntar, a murderer and the man who killed Danny Haran on the beach in front of his little 4 year old daughter, pushed him under the water to make sure he was dead and then smashed the little girl's head on rocks and crushed her skull with his rifle but. He then killed a policeman and his actions caused the death of little Yael Haran who was two years old by suffocation. This is the behavior that the Lebanese people are praising and they are joined by many in the Arab World. Israel, quite rightly so, regards this day as one of sadness and not one of joy which indicates that we have far higher values than the Muslim world. Another point made by MK Eitan is that this "deal" shows every soldier that no matter what happens he will come come home to his people, even if he pays the ultimate price. Those who want to vent their anger should rather aim their venom at the TV media like CNN, SkyNews, The BBC, France 24 and FOX News Channel who bow to Arab pressure and only tell half the story. On this morning's TV coverage the question was asked if the Government does enough to have our side of of the story broadcast on these TV News Channels. The answer is that you can give out all the information you want but you cannot force them to broadcast it. It is the old story - oil versus the truth! Yes, we have paid a high price but we have proven, once again, that we have high values not we do not behave like crazed bloody thirsty scum!
41. Kidnapped Troops in coffins
I.Kemp ,   Nahariya Israel   (07.16.08)
It is very surprising that no one seem to know they were dead. I feel for their families terribly and understand how they feel irrespective as to whether I agreed with the excahnge or not.
42. we are morally and ethically corrupt
ari ,   israel   (07.16.08)
the reason not to release these dogs is not neccessarily the security of the state. even if we knew for a fact that they wouldnt harm us it is morally and ethically wrong! it goes against our religion.it goes against god's will. period. We Jews have become so disconnected with our own religion we even miss the basic reason for things like this. Simply put we might as well throw away the torah because we dont adhere to even the BASIC moral codes of life( by the way i am NOT even a religious jew and I understand these basic laws that govern us). every modern laws in some way shape or form finds its roots in the ten commandments. these are not "the Jews" laws but laws that govern the world.the universe. A murderer must be put to death. that is NOT his punishment. what it means is that he has committed such a crime that we cant even start to understand the punishment that he is to recieve. that is up to god and God demands that he be returned to him for judgement. The parents of the kidnapped(now deceased.may God avenge their death) soldiers, the government, EVERYONE that wanted this bullcrap exchange is commiting a TERRIBLE SIN!!!! they are guilty of murder themselves yet they make this decision out of love. it is very confusing but a major test that many many are failing. Ignorance is not bliss!!!! They cant even understand why their "compassion" to have these soldiers returned is such a crime.but now unfortunately the blood of the murdered is on their hands!!! God help us all.......we do not deserve any sort of redemption
43. DUDE! why didn't they do that?
Proud Lebanese ,   Lebanon   (07.16.08)
bcz they knew what was gonna happen if the did. hezbollah would have immediately bombed tel aviv haven't u learned not to underestimate hezbollah? u're right anyway, force does work. both sides can benefit from it n u know very well that hezbollah did. but it doesn't mean that force is the right thing to do
44. #29 Waht do you mean "your roghts"?
Carsten ,   Germany   (07.16.08)
There is no 'human right' for killing Jews. Anyway, I think since the Lebanese 'state' is making common cause with the Hisbollah terrorist organisation you have no rights at all. Try to become a decent people then things would be different. Carsten Schmidt
45. #36
Talula ,   Israel   (07.16.08)
If YOU thought of that, and I thought of that, then why didn't THEY think of that.
46. They should be going back in coffins too
me ,   here   (07.16.08)
47. We will never pardon peres and olmert!
jason white ,   afula,israel   (07.16.08)
Now the people of Israel can see these two and their kadima/labor/sh-ass are evil incarnate. We need new elections now and we need to try and punish these enemies of the state along with their aides, lawyers and spin doctors. They should be excommunicated from the Jewish religion. Their parties should be banned as terrorist organization. They weaken Israel and strengthen the enemy. They brought shame to the I.D.F. and to Israel. We should have returned dead for dead. We should pardon every Jew that killed an arab.Give them a pension and celebrate Dr.Baruch Goldstein's day of death as a national day of mourning instead of rabin's. School children should learn of his deed and visit his grave.
48. #33, what efforts are they?
Danny   (07.16.08)
Conrad to Olmert:"Hizbollah want all these people freed and these bodies back to bolster their position after their coup" Olmert:"OK, sounds good to me. After all I have a nuclear bunker and envelopes of cash to keep me going. Screw the Israeli people, they only elected me"
49. To the families of these men:my thoughts and
(07.16.08)
prayers are with you on this day. I can't even begin to know what you're going through.
50. numbers
jerusalem   (07.16.08)
5, 8, 11, 19, 20, especially 25 is the reason why people doubt the jewish word especially in times of supposed negotiations. so dont get all whiney and resentful when other people say that nothings going to change from their side despite an agreement with ya'll and will keep security high. lol at "spit!" #8
51. all of Israel is crying
Jeanette ,   Jerusalem Israel   (07.16.08)
as I sit amongst students at the Hebrew University library on Mt Scopus tears are flowing as students read about the return of the coffins-emotions so deep - tears of identity
52. Reply to Nick (Post No. 23)
Johnny Weintraub ,   Sugar Land, Texas US   (07.16.08)
I completely agree with you. A very stupid and dangerous exchange: 2 dead Israeli corpses for five live dangerous criminals. President Shimon Peres needs his head examined for approving this "deal."
53. Very sad but did anyone got the Lesson ?
Rima ,   Lebanon   (07.16.08)
very sad! what war has brought to all of us? I feel with the family of the two soldiers who till last moment had a hope that they sons are alive! but too sad! Just try and feel with the hundreds of mothers all over lebanon who got to see thier sons smashed and into pieces under thier brutley damaged houses during the last invasion of Israel on to Lebanon! Dont call us terrosit! we have a cause and it is time to wake up and understand that ! You give others thier right you get yours! you steal the life and lands of others they steal yours! You can get away with it some years, 50, 60, 100 year but at the end rights will go back to thier owners this is the cycle of life. You managed to terrorise all arab nations who were all cowards in the first place and you thought you were heros! But wake up, Now there is a new generation of Arab Nations who are willing to stand by thier right and who got the lesson very well and these are the new generation of Hizballah ! Leave our lands and save your souls!
54. Murder
Kyle ,   Dothan   (07.16.08)
Did Hezbollah murder these young men after they were kidnapped and returned? Nazrallah said they were alive when they were captured.
55. Disgusting "deal"
JK ,   Netanya   (07.16.08)
Pathetic leadership by Olmert. Give us elections and a government.
56. The Golan Heights is next.

(07.16.08)
58. A sad day
sunshine ,   in Germany   (07.16.08)
for the the relatives as well as for entire Israel. My thoughts and feelings are with the families and friends of Udi and Eldad.
59. #53
Talula ,   Israel   (07.16.08)
Fact is, dear Rima, we are dealing with savages. Lebanon would not have been brutally remodeled by Israeli jets had Hezbollah not have crossed our borders and kidnapped our soldiers. The scary thing now for you is that we learnt some hard lessons in the past, and it's Lebanon and surrounding countries that will feel the benefit of our findings if another war breaks out. I don't hate you, I don't like you - I just want to live in peace and quiet, as I'm sure you do. And just so you know, incase your TV stations are monitored, Hezbullah is in fact on the world's list of terrorists. Israel is not.
60. im shocked, condolences.
