1. Israeli people are amazing
Yanive ,   Indianapolis   (07.16.08)
Listen to the way this brave man speaks. Nasrallah is an animal, and hizbullah are his zombies. N o man in southern lebanon speaks with us much wisdom and sense as this man, and this considering all he is going through. Palestinians only know how to wait, but they do that well. Like Golda Meir said, "WE will have peace with the palestinians when they love their children more than they hate us."
2. Kuntar
Sagi ,   israel   (07.16.08)
an animal who murdered a family in cold blood, smashed in the head of a four year old defenseless child with rocks will be afforded a hero's welcome.
3. Israel pays the same price for dead Jews as for live ones
Ken Besig ,   Israel   (07.16.08)
These two families have gotten their way, two dead bodies in exchange for several live terrorists. The plain fact is that this deal is a terrible and probably fatal one, at least for Israelis. Certainly more Israelis are now in danger of being kidnapped or captured by Arab terrorist groups, and with that, the danger of them simply being murdered out of hand since Israel seems willing to pay the same price for dead Jews as for live ones!
4. A day of shameless celebration for Muslims
Gabi   (07.16.08)
How this exchange is treated by the two peoples explains everything needed to know about the basic difference between Islamic culture and Jewish culture. May the G-d of all Life bless Israel.
5. AMEN
ADINA   (07.16.08)
4- AMEN ISRAEL WILL WIN ONE DAY
6. to the families: "Min HaShamayim Tenahamu"
Sally Forth ,   Jerusalem   (07.16.08)
May G-d comfort you at this difficult time. Baruch Dayan Emet
7. A step forward on the road to wisdom
hermin ,   haifa, israel   (07.16.08)
" A warrior of light knows that certain impossible battles are worth fighting and so is not afraid of being disappointed, knowing as he does the power of his sword and the force of his love. He vehemently rejects those who are unable to take decisions and are always trying to pass on to others the responsibility for all the bad that happens in the world. If he does not fight against what is wrong – even if it seems beyond his strength – he will never find the right way." Paulo Coelho
8. now is the time
tom ,   toronto, canada   (07.16.08)
now is the time to prepare for nasrallah's and kuntar's "rewards" - may the shin bet carry out their missions with speed and success.
9. Reuven Predicts:
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (07.16.08)
In about a week or so, after the Shiva for these two fallen soldiers concludes and the grief of their deaths begins to wear off, the Israeli public will once again, but briefly, come to its senses and realize what a horrendous deal our Government made with these murderous terrorists and anti-Semites. Mr. Kantar and many of the others will be hailed as heroes, some may even return to their former terrorist ways and commit additional murders but, more importantly, this deal will be held by the Arabs as a clear symbol of Israeli weakness and capitulation. It will open an opening for them to use kidnapping and murder as an effective weapon again against us. The Arabs are playing a cruel game with our emotions and, in this inning, have won.
10. Negociate
Richard ,   London UK   (07.16.08)
The Lebanon war brought tragedy to hundreds of families, their number undeniably greater on the Lebanese side, and Israeli cluster bombs dropped over southern Lebanon continue to kill and maim today. It also demonstrates once again that Israel does eventually indirectly negotiate with militant groups for the return or release of its soldiers. Such negotiations are under way now with Hamas for the release of another captured Israeli soldier, Gilad Shalit, who was taken a month before the Lebanon war and who is believed to be still alive. It exacted political costs too. Halutz, the general who oversaw such a fierce bombing campaign, resigned six months later just before a high-level inquiry exposed how poorly the Israeli government and military had conducted its war. Within a year Amir Peretz, the defence minister, had been replaced. Ehud Olmert, the prime minister, is still in office but has been so badly wounded politically by the perceived failings of the war that few believe he can ever recover his career. Instead it is Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hizbullah, who emerges stronger than before. He boasts how his militia delivered a painful challenge to Israel's presumed military superiority. Even though he has faced criticism within Lebanon for the war and, more recently, for factional clashes, Kuntar's release will be portrayed as a symbolic victory and one that Nasrallah will use to argue that his movement still has a valuable role in resistance to Israel
11. we,ve created a monster with this prisoner swap
(07.16.08)
12. Israel really is a light unto other nations!
Daniela Kotzmann ,   London, UK   (07.16.08)
Is it not ironic that whilst we are mourning now our dead, the other side are celebrating the return of a murderer. Israel makes me proud. It makes me proud that a nation constantly critisized abroad values life and peoples lives above all. I live in the UK and certainly here the UK does not value life as highly as it does in Israel. As for Lebanon I think they value life as much as they value the basic rights of an individual. Zilcho! At least now the families can mourn knowing exactly what the fate of their boys is. Let them be in peace!
13. A national tragedy for Israel and we Jews.
Yonatan ,   Nahariya   (07.16.08)
The unavoidable truth here is that the precedence for the return of dead soldiers has been made. Israel foolishly caved to the terrorist demands of giving live murderers for dead Jews. The families of the dead have closure but we have begun writing an entirely new chapter in placating terrorism. King Shimon and prince Ehud are the culprits here. Israel has lowered its standards by allowing our PM to remain in office and broker such an unholy accord.
14. Should not free Kuntar until they are dead naturally
Dani ,   Israel   (07.16.08)
in Israeli prisons, Nothing less than Nasarallah himself, dead or alive should settle the matter, this is not under agreement and will teach them a lesson. Nothing less than a visit of UN officer’s meeting with Gilad Shalit and live footage on Israeli TV should settle the matter. In this case, also if there is something ubnormal, nothing less than whole empty Gaza strip should solve the problem. Never trust these people, they are not true Muslims, they are spoiling Islam and Islamic values.
15. Bring back the death penalty;
Daniel ,   Israel   (07.16.08)
people like Kantar and Hussin Ali Suleiman should not be kept alive. This will end all kidnappings and hassle that follows.
16. # 4, Gabi U R Right, they are not true Muslims
Daniel ,   Israel   (07.16.08)
Islam never teaches such a shameless things
17. #@ Sagi
Daniel ,   Israel   (07.16.08)
I am sure he will have nightmares sooner or letter, memories will haunt him forever, he will never be a normal person.
18. sad day for their families
marcus ,   germany   (07.16.08)
everyone was guessing it, but now it seems to be sure - both are dead. if shalit wouldn´t be in captivity, i would recommend to kill kuntar and nasrallah immediately !
19. OUR DEAD IS WORTH MORE THAN YOUR LIVING
PHILIP HERST   (07.16.08)
DO YOU ARABS UNDERSTAND YOUR WORTH YOUR PEOPLE ALIVE ARE WORTH LESS THAN OUR DEAD DOES THAT GET INTO YORU HEADS??
20. Baruch Dayan Emet
Shalom   (07.16.08)
Dear Regev & Goldwasser Families, What can anyone say? We feel your pain like our own. Your sons are our sons; we are brothers united in sorrow. I am no fan of corrupt governments, but I do believe that Israel and all the Jewish people made the correct decision: our boys' were worth the price. How could we have lived with ourselves if we had never been certain whether they were alive or not, and had voted to not go through with this deal. Now - one final prayer - that someone puts a bullet through Kuntar's brain - fast.
21. Who will pay the heavy cost of this?
jason white ,   afula,israel   (07.16.08)
There are innocent people who will G-d forbid pay the price in life and limb. I hope the two families realize this. We must torture, then kill all terrorists. We need to get information from them, kill them, then burn the bodies.
22. Kuntar and friends should be returned in bodybags too!
mk ,   Israel   (07.16.08)
Baruch Dayan HaEmet for the Regev and Goldwasser Families. The reason we are getting back dead boys is a direct result of our stupid governments capitulation to terrorist demands. Had olmerde declared from the beginning that all dead prisoners would be matched with dead prisoners the incentive to keep them alive would have been present. But we are too soft and too meek and want the world to love us even if it means our death. Woe to our sick diseased souls! If olmerde had a brain and a heart he'd get an f16 to drop a bomb on the returning hizballahniks as they pass the border. As Kahane zt"l used to say "I'd rather be a live Jew that the world hates than a dead Jew that the world loves".
23. The only thing I can say is:
Keren ,   Israel-SP   (07.16.08)
LEARN LISRAEL,LEARN ISRAEL! Do not repeat mistakes;learn how to behave towards our owns and towards enemies.Towards our owns with love, compassion and respect;towards enemies ,with the ferocity they deserve. For now,I am sure, that's the wrong way that has been followed. Appeasing animals is the wrong way. Each situation deserve apprpriate response, and Israel is responding awkwardly, not the way Israel knows.Israel has been listening to enemies in how to act and it is making big mistakes.
24. What Are Israeli Commandos Waiting For?
Dave Levy ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (07.16.08)
Kuntar will go into hiding, like his admirer head of Hezbollah. None of this should have shocked anyone. The dismay was aggravated when Peres pardoned Kuntar, and he was made part of the exchange, rather than being hung with a 12,00 noose. The crime was committed when those 2 Israelis were taken captive, with the cross border raid..and exaggerated when Israel agreed to the cease fire. Israel from afar, looks like a whining child..waving it's arms in dismay, not knowing what to do? Now, Hez has violated 1701 and has over 20,000 rockets, perhaps with BC warheads..and is beefin up it's fortifications along the border. The real question is: what now? Has Israel learned anything from this? If anything, and there is another round of fighting, Israel must use it's might to it's fullest, and end Hez once and for all. Or there will be many more similar exchanges, now that Kuntar is loose. Remember Munich, well, what are Israeli commandos waiting for, the Messiah?
25. a message to muslims:
elan ,   netanya   (07.16.08)
BE AFRAID
26. to elan #25: we're scared :S
wildmandxb ,   dubai   (07.16.08)
hey elan, your comment only shows how silly and helpless you are, what kind of message is this? afraid of what? anything you have we haven't seen before? you lost the war and everything you got so get a life and say something appropriate rather than the helplessness and shame you live with!
27. Will we finally rid ourselves of these Kadima traitors?
Steve   (07.16.08)
28. Kunta should have been killed yonks ago.
vicky ,   Ashkelon Israel   (07.16.08)
We should start a new precedence. You kidnap our people, it means war. You kill these people. We will send every captive terrorist back in a box minus its balls. Thats the only thing these murderous imbeciles know. Never mind Vengence is for G-d to decide. Lets help him out and take vengence ourselves. My heart and prayers for both families. We should all mourn them with a Yortzite
29. SO SAD!!
Keren   (07.16.08)
Wish the families much strength, you are in our thoughts. Ehud Goldwasser זא"ל Eldad Regev זא"ל Keren
30. To Elan 25# for what?????
Sami ,   Syria   (07.16.08)
Elan, you destroyed Palestine and Lebanon and have killed xxxxxxxxxx amount of innocent children, women and more. I see that you are crying over two soldiers that had the duty of defending your country with the risk of being killed in service. How many mothers and families has Israel made feel the same as the parents of Goldvasser and Regev feels at the moment. In some sort of way, I feel somewhat sad over the outcome of these two men and had wished another outcome, but thats life. This should teach u that war is not a solution, but if another war starts God forbid, then rest assured that Israel will be under massive attacks from all directions, the time were Israel were described as invincible is over, there are new realities taking place in ME, it is only in Israel you are living in your past glory, forget it these days are over.
