1. And with this...
J K ,   NYC, USA   (07.16.08)
There is no longer a reason for Israel to keep any prisoners from Lebanon alive. After the terrible deal this government made, what incentive do the Arabs have to keep the Israelis they may capture alive? It will only cost them time and effort if they are alive. And Israel will give them what they want, dead or alive. http://www.tzomet.net
2. Next war
zach ,   us   (07.16.08)
when will the lebenese leave us alone and get back to their civil war?
3. It is time to think....
me and you ,   TA, Israel   (07.16.08)
What have we gained from all this, tears and grief. There should be another way out of all this. Our government, with corrupt idiots at the top, have failed us once and again. Our own existence is at stake, this time for real... no paranoia ... think

- to the boys' families and friends: MY DEEPEST HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES. MAY THEY REST IN PEACE. - to olmert: YOU ARE A LIVING MASQUERADE. So sad day !(my father died on a 13, tamuz)
8. Nasralla is a war criminal !!!
Ruby   (07.16.08)
Let us not forget the fact that the kidnapped soldiers were alive at the time it happened. As such, it is obvious that they were murdered while being prisoners and the one that is responsible for the murder is the Hezbulla leader, Nasralla. In other words, Nasralla is a war criminal.
9. So . . . What Happens Now?
emanon ,   USA   (07.16.08)
10. An empty chair on Shabbat
Avi   (07.16.08)
The families of those slain during the crimes commited by Kuntar have had to deal with that for 30 some years. An empty chair at the table. It's so sad that it came to that for the families of the soldiers, who are now faced with an empty chair and knowing the soldiers won't return.
11. Commited to the values of Judaism ???
Yaakov ,   Canada   (07.16.08)
Only the Bible can teach what are true values of Judaism ! The entire city of Biblical Arad was conquered and annihilated because of the abduction of one Jewish maid. THAT'S VALUES OF JUDAISM !!!! Turning your back to your comrades while they get tortured and murdered, trading their bodies for live terrorists to murder more ARE VALUES OF FOOLS AND CRIMINALS !!!!
12. Get rid of of this PM already
Norman   (07.16.08)
13. olmert must go
(07.16.08)
14. this is all too sad for words for our people
(07.16.08)
and for the families. there is so much sadness in this that even oceans cant keep away the sad feeling. my heart is breaking for the families
15. ANOTHER PHOTO -OP
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (07.16.08)
for Olmert to show how human he realy is. What a shameless rat he is. How can these famillies allow this jerk to be there while he is one of the reasons they are there in the first palce. Why not kick his but out of there, he is only trying to improve his approval ratings.
16. Israeli Leaders
Shlomo The Homo ,   Tel Aviv   (07.16.08)
they told us No release for Kuntar until we get Ron Arad...they were wrong. They told us no dealing with terrorist and thet were wrong. Look at us today and look at Hizboulah celebrating the victory. It is sad day for Israel
17. Perfidy
David ,   Jerusalem   (07.16.08)
Pictures of the grieving families are unacceptable. They not only make something intensely private public - which is vulgar and ill mannered in of itself, but they serve as propaganda for our enemies and inspire the notion that we are demoralized - thus inviting more attacks. Solemn pictures of funerals is one thing, but this crosses a basic line of decency *and*good sense. I know decorum isn't en vogue, especially in media circles, but this borders on heathen barbarism. Its time the media started thinking before they hit the publish button.
18. Talk about his "parashot" but not about this
Sarah ,   Jerusalem Israel   (07.16.08)
This is no photo op - he has spoken every day witht he families and taken Karnit to every world leader he could to bring about a better end. The tears are real.
19. #15 I agree.Disgusting picture.the man is a rat.
Keren ,   Israel-SP   (07.16.08)
20. Slowly but surely Israel is sinking into the abyss...
Alfonso   (07.16.08)
Nothing and no one can stop this slide. Selfishness contempt for others and general greed is leading this country to an early demise. Point of fact..The bleeping of the families especially the one with the soldier in Gaza was and is horrid. No country would stand for this. A country is only as strong as the sum of its parts. No one person or family should and could influence the general good. Thus Israel is hurting bleeding and I am afraid will die sooner than later. I only hope I am wrong.
21. hatikvah
Rachael Cohen ,   colunbia, md   (07.16.08)
hatikvah means the hope. i say never give up. NEVER! G-d gave us this land, and we must fight for it. after all, the Arabs won't just hand it over... NEVER EVER give up
22. The brave hero: Samir Kuntar
Sara ,   Israel   (07.16.08)
Remember that in Lebanon the people have been murdering each other for decades, yet they became friends today in order to give a hero's welcome to a man that murdered a 4-year-old girl by bashing her head on rocks after she was forced to watch her father being murdered. Wow, what a hero!! And Nasrallah with his cruel games right up to the very last minute. This should show the world what kind of people we are dealing with.
23. israel be pride and keep your head up
gerhard ,   Munich, Germany   (07.16.08)
you have the high ethical standards and are not on the same level as this dirty pig nashruddin nashralla. On the other hand: why still supply hamastan with gas and other energy delivery, as well as water and so on, if those killer maniacs just want to throw you in the sea or sending their make-shift missiles? Why pardon for murderers and terrorists if this language cannot be understood by them? Besides high ethical standards, terrorists and killers such as kuntar need a hard hit sometimes. No appeasment.
24. Kuntar
Natan   (07.16.08)
The murderous bastard has just exchanged his life sentence for a death sentence!!!
25. Israel, lebanon and Iran
Alawi Alkhabbaz ,   hrain   (07.16.08)
I would say that if Israel were ready for further tragedies, let her hears America and attack Iran.
26. murdered soldiers
Graham ,   Goch, Germany   (07.16.08)
For the last two years I have been exhorted not to forget these two young men. I will not....though I did not know them - their faces will haunt me always Graham
27. If Israel cared they wouldn't have come back in coffins
gabriela ben ari ,   Jerusalem   (07.16.08)
Israel should have literaly turned Lebannon into a parking lot and not finish without the boys back! THAT I CALL MORAL VALUES Israelis don't distinguish right from left any more, neither moral from corrupt, nor survival from from self suicide We've been heading towards the wrong direction. We are apologetic of defending ourselves, of even existing in the Middle East. We lost it, we lost it all
28. #25. Hizbullah IS Iran.
Jake   (07.17.08)
29. I AM ASHAMED TO BE LEBANESE
Yuhanna Alqarmidi ,   California, USA   (07.17.08)
Samir Kuntar and his likes should not have been released by Israel, but executed long time ago; they are not prisoners of war, but criminals and should be treated as such. If the Lebanese officials have a shred of morality and humanity left in them, they should have immediately incarcerated such people and punish them in an appropriate manner. Of course, not every Lebanese approves of these shameful and immoral celebrations. The release of such criminals by Israel will be viewed as weakness by her enemies and will embolden them to carry on their cowardly attacks against Israel.
30. I would like to know
Kay3 ,   Israel   (07.17.08)
How and when they died! Why is this not even mentioned?
