31. LIFE IS SO CRUEL !!
sam sweiry ,   UK   (07.17.08)
I couldn't stop the tears in my eyes watching both funurals on internet. my thoughts are with both families. I wish them long life.
32. Can't believe so many talkbackers bothered with #1
AB ,   TheRock   (07.17.08)
Why giver her this honour? She's just a half wit and her name testifies to that.
33. Israel has nothing to be proud of.
AK   (07.17.08)
Weakness is no reason for pride. Israel is being lead to slaughter by her corrupt and inept leaders, who are being cheered on by the equally morally corrupt press and the so- called intellectuals. Israel had no moral victory here-- there is nothing moral about pardoning and freeing an unrepentant convicted terrorist who murdered a tiny girl and will murder again.
34. In Answer Invicta
Vicky ,   Ashkelon Israel   (07.17.08)
You either wear blinkers or are a bigot. We do protect our children, We do NOT teach our children how to wear bomb belts, We do NOt use them as baracades. We do not use our Women as suicide bombers just because they are "slightly worn!" or mentally retarded. WE have defended ourselves, and it took almost 2000 years for us to do it. BECAUSE we respect the word peace. But when we retaliate irnorant morons like you have to use biased inaccuracies to try and 'down' us. But no more. We have a corrupt Government yes, and Corrupt Rabbis, But the difference is that we can vote them out democartically. But we will still give them a respecable burial. These two precious sons were kidnapped and tortured even before we went back into Lebanon. We couldhave very easily done the same to KUNTAR, who made a 4 year old child watch her mother and father die before he smashed her scull repeatedly. But we didn't. If you wish to honour him then you must be one sick bastard.
35. Proud to be a Jew, ashamed to be Israeli
Adam Eliyahu Berkowi   (07.17.08)
I served in the IDF. I have lived here over 16 years. I love Israel. I don't care for the Arabs. I hate the left wing and their stealing politicos who say stupid things that don't make sense, deny reality, and have caused nothing but suffering while claiming the right wing is the real evil. Zionism has failed in every way possible. Don't include me in the "pride" you were talking about. If Shiimon Peres can pardon Kuntar, than he is no better than the murderer himself.
36. Why No Autopsies Performed To Determine Cause Of Death?
World Citizen ,   the world   (07.17.08)
How convenient for your government that no autopsies were performed. Don't want to find out they died in battle? Don't want to find out that the whole kidnapping tale was just a fabrication by your government to justify an invasion of Lebanon? Either Israelis are the must gulliable people on the planet (not counting the stupid Americans) or they just don't want to know the truth. And to the gatekeepers on this site I would ask why aren't you asking the hard questions? You won't publish my post but that is fine. When you don't I know how close to the truth I am.
37. grief stricken but proud
bernard landman ,   raanana israel   (07.17.08)
PROUD.... NO. DISGUSTED,ASHAMED,ISRAEL IS NOW BEYOND BELIEF. BUZBY.
38. #1 Cannot compare Israel to UK
Nick ,   London   (07.17.08)
You have to understand that it is different in Israel, as every citizen has either been a soldier or has a close relative in the army. In Britain you choose to be in the army but in Israel it is compulsory. Britain is not at constant threat from very dangerous enemies just over it's border. The war in Afghanistan or Iraq feels like another world away, not close to home so not part of your every day life. In Israel war is part of every day life as it's under constant threat from those who want it destroyed. A single Israeli soldier is worth a thousand Hizbollah fighters, I say this because nobody cries for Hizbollah, the relatives are happy if they die in action for their 'holy war', they rejoice and dance in the street and celebrate. So maybe you should make them VERY happy, and soon!
39. No. 32 AB
NYC Girl   (07.17.08)
You probably have a point, but Invicta has been around spewing his bilious vomit all over this site for way too long, and he's become tedious and predictable. But the fact that he's doing it in regard to the soldiers has probably pushed a lot of people here to the limits of their bulls--t threshold.
40. To #1
David Powell ,   Everett, Wa. USA   (07.17.08)
There is nothing melodramitic when a country mourns the loss of a soldier who has made the ultimate sacrafice for their country even when it is at the hands of the world's most savage terrorists. As for the US ,there is a constant vigil for the recovery of our fallen after they have been missing in action for 30 years. There has been many closeures and many still waiting to find the missing in Viet Nam. I too am sick of Europeans who criticize the US and Israel.
41. # 36 World Citizen
(07.17.08)
Since you appear to be a conspiracy theorist, the least you could do would be to identify your source for this "revelation" about how the soldiers died. The fact that you didn't only proves that in all likelihood it's nothing more than a figment of an overactive imagination.
42. These Men Died In Battle
World Citizen ,   the world   (07.18.08)
Not like captured rats in a cage. Your government should have the decency to admit the truth. When they do that then the question arises did they die in Israel or in Lebanon? If they died in Lebanon what were they doing there? The facts of the matter is that Israel had been looking for an excuse to destroy Hezbullah. Maybe what really happened was that the soldiers were sent into Lebanon as a provocation? And if that was so how would Israelis feel if they knew their government caused the whole Second Lebanon War because it cannot tell the truth? So my original question remains. Why were there no autopsies performed on the bodies of these two young men?
43. # 1 It's a Shame That You're Right
Bill ,   US   (07.18.08)
In America, Memorial Day means going to the beach, the mall for sales, and having a bbq. There's very little memorializing going on (outside of soldier's families) and that's a shame. That the Israelis grieve for the lost soldiers shows a nation that is truly grateful for the sacrifies their sons have made.
44. #42, there were autopsies performed
Jake   (07.18.08)
I am sorry , but just because you keep repeating a lie to yourself does not mean it will ever come true. One of these soldiers was shot by an RPG through the chest while still in his patrol jeep, and the other was shot in the head trying to escape the jeep. By the time they were kidnapped by Hizbullah and taken into Lebanon (which Hizbullah has admitte doing!) , they were already either dead or nearly dead.
