61. Gazan - I believe you are well meaning, but your.....
Andy ,   Israel   (07.18.08)
"I am not involved in politics" attitude IS THE PROBLEM!!!! Your elected government is waging war on us. Any other country would have FLATTENED Gaza by now. Can you imagine rockets from Mexico hitting Texas? GOODBYE MEXICO. If you disagree with YOUR GOVERNMENT - gather up your neighbors and TAKE TO THE STREETS! That's the only way this situation will change. Until then, I don't want any Gazans in my country or its hospitals, and I don't want the Israel electric company supplying power, and I don't want Israeli trucks supplying food or any other support to you or anybody else in Gaza. Not feeding you is not collective punishment or punishment of any sort. I do not hate you or anybody elase - and I pray there will be peace between us and you. But you actually have to DO SOMETHING to make that happen. If you do, you will find no better partner in peace than the State of Israel and its people. If you don't then the situation is YOUR FAULT AND YOUR FAULT PERSONALLY. I supect you already know this. You are not powerless. Nobody is - even if you need to have COURAGE to act.
62. Gazan, Hamas is your worse enemy
Ben ,   London, UK   (07.18.08)
Hamas is the one who should be denounced by the International Court or the UN. Hamas is responsible for a a violent coup, for executing Palestinian people in the street, for firing rockets at civilians, for shooting farmers, for suicide bombing innocents and last but not least for punishing Gazans. Understand that Israel has no other choice but to stand firm against those criminals and blockading the strip which has become the Disneyland of Terrorism. The Palestinians people are Hamas' responsibility and whatever happens to Palestinians is Hamas' fault. The whole purpose of the disengagement was to allow Gazans to govern themselves but Gazans had to elect criminals which ruins directly and indirectly Gazans' lives. Again Israel capitulate in front of the Katiushas not because it cannot beat Hizballah but because the rockets were hurting the people of Israel. It was better to stop a poorly plan war and have its people safe rather than for ego purpose go after Hizballah no matter the price. This is what Hamas is doing. They don't give a damn about your school issues or the the fact that some Palestinians could be saved by going to a hospital outside of Gaza. What they want is to never bend to Israel even if it could save lives because otherwise they would feel emasculated. Sorry for your problems, but Israel not your oppressor; Hamas is.
63. # 58
Bill ,   US   (07.18.08)
# 1 Why would Egypt comply with Israel's demands to seal off their border with Gaza? Why would Israel care if you went to Egypt or Jordan? Isn't it more likely that the Egyptian government doesn't want you in their country either? # 2 The rockets haven't stopped since June. Fatah is now firing them from Gaza. So why should anything change to your benefit while the people in the Negev are being collectively punished? # 3 Just out of curiosity which 10% of Hamas' actions do you like?
64. To Gazan
Elianah ,   London   (07.18.08)
As someone is studying for a PhD abroad and finding it very awesome, I hope you get your chance to travel. I also hope that one day our two peoples, Israelis and Palestinians, can live together side by side. I think that'd be better for all of us than fighting. I appreciate your posts here today.
65. All I wish for him...
Talula ,   Israel   (07.18.08)
I just hope that the most horrifying and evil day that this devil Kuntar experienced in the past will look to be the best one in the future. I wish him nothing but immense pain and suffering for the rest of his life. Which I hope won't be long. You knows, maybe 532 days in an Israeli prison taught him some humanity, but I very much doubt it. They all left prison looking pretty well fed to me. Big fat porkers. I hope they all die the worst death possible.
66. Gazan, Gaza, its true.
Israeli   (07.18.08)
Your people could have been prosperous and productive if your Hamas, Fatah and PLO had not chosen the path to destroy Israel. Israel would have aided your people to the hilt to live in peace. YOU people chose Arafat who pocketed the money given to Gaza for building infrastructure. You people elected terror organizations. You could have had it all. But you choose to blame all of your problems on Israel and the Jews. Your airport was being used to bring in terror equipment to be used to kill Jews. What would any other nation have done?
67. Gazawi, release Shalit, then go to Rafah
Rick & TC ,   Israel   (07.18.08)

72. To this juck head Elie ,Keep deaming
George Saliba ,   Canada   (07.19.08)
you and the rubbish Lebanese like you soon will flee like a bug from our free Lebanon Viva Michelle Oun
73. #70, Kuntar was lucky the trial was not public
Jake   (07.19.08)
otherwise the public would have demanded the death penalty be legalized for him. Israel always planned to release him in exchange for Ron Arad. By having the trial not open to the public, Samir Kuntar got about as fair a trial as anyone will ever get. He was released unrepentant. He got off way easy, and you know it. So don't go on about "top secret" and other pathetic comments.
74. #56. Kuntar has Stockholm syndrome?! Lol!
Jake   (07.19.08)
More like, Kuntar has Spoiled Rotten Syndrome. After murdering a family and policeman, what did he get? Look at him, a specimen of excellent health, looking more vivacious than they he went to jail nearly 20 years ago. While in prison, he was clearly overfed, oversexed, and overeducated. And now, beyond his wildest expectations, he is a free man. Stockholm Syndrome! Hahahaha!
75. to Elie
Mav ,   Tokyo   (07.19.08)
The sewer rat nasrallah is runing Lebanon and one day the goverment will see the liht and puth this devil were he belongs
76. Kuntar and Lebanese
Alex ,   New York   (07.19.08)
We shouldn't generalize. People who were celebrating Kuntar's release are mostly ignorant shiites and hypocrite polititians. I doubt many Lebanese Christians, Sunnis or even Druse were much too excited about Kuntar. At least that's what I hear from my Lebanese Christian collegagues here in New York.
77. # 70 What's Your Point?
(07.19.08)
Kuntar says he read the IDF was responsible for the child's death in 1979 - that's not recently. I should believe that even though his innocence was published 30 years ago, there has not been one 'new historian', radical professor, B'tselem and ilk to remind the whole country that it has it wrong. That Kuntar only killed the father and not the child. Sure. I think you're keeping your intelligence top secret.
78. Kuntar envies jewish kindness
charlot   (07.19.08)
To # 12, Elie from Lebanon. To live and see your Govt. grow some balls ?.You are never going see the day. Allah has decreed that only MEN will have some -- The Libanese were not on the list..... Let's be real; what did Nasrallah give to your people: 1000's of dead, wounded, crippled AND $$ billions in losses to the economy, the country, And you glorify this madman together with fat slob Kuntar ( good jewish food ) your favorite killer ( good Muslim upbringing ) You were once the " Paris " of the middle east, who is turning into a carbon copy of Gaza --- Arafat did it for you then, and Nasrallah is doing for you now. Kuntar's only accurate comments in this article are: disregard for human being's value -- Arab person has no meaning
79. #77 - "Innocent"?
Michael ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (07.19.08)
The forensics report clearly stated that Einat Haran's brain matter was found on Kuntar's rifle butt and all over the rifle, in a splatter patter that shows the butt was used to crush her head. It also clearly stated that she was killed by blunt force trauma, not by a bullet. Read the report talkback # 36 gave a link to.
80. #79
(07.19.08)
Why no mention of forensic evidence regarding the distance from which Danny Haran was shot? And why would Quntar, under fire, for whom the hostages represent his best chance to survive, kill them? And how did BOTH he AND his mate find the time, while police was closing in upon him with guns ablaze, to hit the girl repeatedly, and in few view of the police? And finally why were the police shooting in the direction of Quntar, knowing that he had or might have had hostages with him? Now free, Kuntar can defend himself against public scrutiny, and he alone bears the burden of this matter. There are also international courts and a justice system in Lebanon where suits can be brought against him. At least then, he will be able to address them and defend himself -- something the Israelis have denied him.
