1. Time to stop talking with Fanatics
Brod ,   USA   (07.19.08)
Talking with Fanatics is like banging one's head against a stone wall. It is time to stop talking. The Fanatics are hellbent on a destructive path. And if they get their hands on nukes, the whole world would be terrorized 24/7. The Fanatics are no different than Mohammad Atta and his thugs and all the Islamist-Jihadist thugs that committed horrendous crimes against humanity around the world since 9/11 (and we can say since the 7th century). See what they have been committing around the world since 9/11 at www.thereligionofpeace.com Other Must See Websites are: www.americancongressfortruth.com www.faithfreedom.org www.terrorismawareness.org/islamic-mein-kampf www.terrorismawareness.org/know-about-jihad www.terrorismawareness.org/what-really-happened/ Must Read Books are: "Understanding Muhammad" [2008] by Ali Sina, PhD "Why We Want To Kill You" [2007] by Walid Shoebat "Future Jihad" [2005] by Walid Phares, PhD
2. According to the script.
Persian CAT   (07.19.08)
Imani's job is to throw red meat at the press to create headlines. The real stuff are said in the closed meeting and we the people are not supposed to know what is really said or agreed to.
3. Coax this.
Persian CAT   (07.19.08)
"Solana over lunch would try to coax Jalili into agreeing to discuss the ''freeze-for-freeze''. According to another nameless, faceless and stateless diplomat Solana took with him a vial of date rape drug just in case Jalili was a hard nut to crack :)
4. Surprised anybody?
s ,   Tel Aviv   (07.19.08)
5. sharpen the knives, fire up the '52s
USA should bring it ,   on too. Israeli   (07.19.08)
dammed if we do, dammed if we don't. We're less dammed if we do. No choice left; we do.
6. Iran, the biggest danger to the Middle East and to the world
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (07.19.08)
An irrational nuclear Iran in the region is not conceivable. A stable nuclear balance of power/balance of terror in the Middle East would be out of the question (nuclear proliferation in the M.E. could never create the same sort of stable equilibrium that was once obtained between the USA and USSR). Israel must remain the region’s only nuclear power. Moreover, Iran's program should not become a powerful proliferation driver, building on regional rivalry security concerns and one-upmanship. 7. NO FREEZING OF ENRICHMENT NOW
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (07.19.08)
Wiliam Burns requested to hear from the horses mouth. He did that today................................................now the actual meetings begin. No need to keep your B52's ready. It won't work.
8. a clear answer
tom ,   toronto, canada   (07.19.08)
how much clearer can it get: "no suspension". solana and the eu need to have their hearing checked. in actuality, both tehran and the eu are just proceeding with their respective agendas, facts notwithstanding. for solana and the eurabians, it is vital that "negotiations" continue, not because they will lead anywhere, but to forestall any military action by israel or the united states. the eu can play an imagined role in these negotiations, but once the shooting starts, they will be irrelevant, once again. as for the iranians, the road to mahdaviat does not lie in peaceful reconciliation of the issue. they need to bring about a world-destroying war to trigger the return of the mahdi, and that will not happen if they stop their enrichment voluntarily. to stop now would be to forgo their chance at paradise. and so the dialogue of the deaf goes on....
9. Solana and co
I.Kemp ,   Nahariya Israel   (07.19.08)
Whether Iran gives an answer or not is not really relevant but what it will do is make Solana and Co look consistently greater idiots than what they already are. Furthermore , the U.S has displayed a traditional not unseen before 180 degree turn in it's "we never ever will...you can count on us" foreign policy.
10. The same story running for 5 years straight.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (07.19.08)
Mr Solana & his collegues are apparently very slow learners. The addition of Mr Burns is further good news for the Mad Mullahs. That leaves only us but we don't have a functional gov't. We'd better get one in a hurry. Or change the name of Tel Aviv to Ground Zero.
11. #8. All Iran wants is security.
Persian CAT   (07.19.08)
Iran has realized it cannot depend on any international organization or convention for security. Military and financial Western support for Saddam and inaction by the UNSC during Saddam's attack of Iran has convinced the Iranians that they can only depend on their own resources to defend themselves. Freeze or suspension are just talking points, that's all. "mahdaviat", "paradise" and "return of mahdi" are just a bunch of buzz words thrown by the Iranians so clueless people like you can use them to sound like they know what they're talking about. Once Iran gets security guarantees and commitments from the West the whole dialog will change. Trust me.
12. Iran already has decided
Siad ,   Muslim world   (07.19.08)
and they want to be nuclear.
13. Don't these "diplomats" ever get tired
Joe ,   Ohio, USA   (07.19.08)
of these charades they play with Iran and the Arab states
14. Iran's Stalling Tactic
Brod ,   USA   (07.19.08)
Iran is using stalling tactic to gain more uninterrupted time for them to complete their nukes. It is time to stop being fooled by them. The Free world should stop wasting time talking with a fanatical state that is hellbent on the path of destruction. Fanatics will never comply with the wishes or demands of the West on them.
15. Persian cat says "trust me/Iran"
alan ,   alaska   (07.20.08)
In # 11, Pesian Cat says "Once Iran gets security guarantees and commitments from the West the whole dialog will change. Trust me." Really? Iran was given plenty of secuirty guarantees over the last four years of brinkmanship and only our distractions distracted us from taking on whom we should have taken on from day 2. Iran has been given every motivator in the book. Iran is buying time to blast a hole in the grown that would make the Twin Towers look like an erector set. Recent manuevers by an unnamed and unsung mity mouse country may have lite a match under the Persia or provided it with yet another opportunity to bring the Europeans around the table to hold hands while rubbing knees. The clock is clicking. be sure to check the time.
