1. And Why Should They?
Johan Odin ,   Oslo, Norway   (07.23.08)
Iran certainly has the legitimate and legal right under the NPT to develop and utilize nuclear power for their civilian needs, and it was the USA itself that not only encouraged them to do so for exactly the same reasons, but also helped build their program in the first place until the people of Iran overthrew the western imposed dictator who called himself the Shah. I have no doubt that Iran will continue to be the peaceful nation that its history proves it to be, and while some may not approve of Iran's support for those fighting against the occupation of their homeland, perhaps if the occupiers ended their reign of terror, the need to aid the occupier would end as well, which would also benefit Iran as well.
2. Iran
Roxy ,   Israel   (07.23.08)
Johan who exactly are you refuring to as occupation of their homeland? Incase you forgot your history, the muslims invaded Jerusalem when the Jews were already living here(BC era)..the original people living in this region were the Canninites,Philistens and Israelites no muslims or arabs as we know them today. The muslims invaded jerusalem and then lived here, so who is the occupier? all Israel wants is to live in peace with its neighbors who constantly call for its destruction.
3. Iran, the biggest danger to the Middle East and to the world
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (07.23.08)
An irrational nuclear Iran in the region is not conceivable. A stable nuclear balance of power/balance of terror in the Middle East would be out of the question (nuclear proliferation in the M.E. could never create the same sort of stable equilibrium that was once obtained between the USA and USSR). Israel must remain the region’s only nuclear power. Moreover, Iran's program should not become a powerful proliferation driver, building on regional rivalry security concerns and one-upmanship. 4. #1 NON -THINKER. IRAN NUKES WILL START M.E. ARMS RACE.
DOOMHAM ,   EFFING, PARASITE-UK   (07.23.08)
At the very least, Iran's neighbors will respond with their own 'programs' - nobody will want to be left behind. Now, surely, you can see that as strong possibilty?
5. IRAN'S NUCLEAR PROGRAMME WILL CONTINUE
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (07.23.08)
Irrespective of what is going on to make it look as though Iranians were just waiting to finish making a bomb, develope a delivery system and fire the missile.Nothing like that stupidity exists. The hype is just to ensure that whatever little progress Iran has made MUST be denied as the commercial deals for enriched uranium and other technology will be COMPARATIVELY cheaper in the market 10 years from now. The conclusion I can draw is it may initially become difficult for Iran to make rapid progress in usage of nuclear technology for peaceful purpose.........................however,they are bound to be winners and will tape the needed resources.Furthermore, the vested interest has more than made it clear to the Iranians that should they acquire nuclear weapons, the present equation of power in the Middle East will tilt.No one is concerned about Iranians having intentions to destroy Israel..............and even if they were to try and do that............is anyone suggesting that Israel will not reciprocate???Of course not. So,what is the exact conclusion to all this?It is that we have it but you should not!!!!!No way will the Iranians sit tight and agree to this scenerio.Destrying their facilities is a GUARANTEED course for Iranians to ensure developing nuclear arms.Choice is yours, readers. Taliking too much of Iranians wanting to destroy Israel should now go into the history and logic has to play its part.Iran will go ahead and we shall together witness their resolve and progress.

I strongly sugest you request from your prison guard some type of task to be assigned to you, maybee something along the lines of a history lesson and then maybe a realty course would not hurt.
8. NOT MUCH FROM YOU,MIKE......#7
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (07.23.08)
By deviating from the subject as if you are an authority on the world events does not do much good to yourself.Having read your past talk-back I know how biased and hateful person you are.Anyway, retain my talk-back for a change and see how the events take place. But be around................don't refrain from admitting your own misjudgement,Mike.
9. Law, justice and logic?!!!

10. #4 DOOMHAM - Israeli Nukes Already Started the ME Arms Race
Johan Odin ,   Oslo, Norway   (07.24.08)
First off, Iran is not trying to develop nukes; which is why Iran signed the NPT, as it is supposed to provide protection against attack by rogue nuclear regimes like Israel in return for it not developing its own nuclear deterrent. I do agree, however, that having rogue nuclear regimes in the ME with nuclear weapon such as Israel, India and Pakistan (all who have not signed the NPT) does create the possibility of other nations developing their own programs so as not to be left behind. Creating a Nuclear Weapons free Middle East is clearly the only answer, but as one might expect, Israel also opposes that principal as well.
