1. A Real Mystery Here
Bill ,   US   (07.24.08)
I'm sure Israelis will conclude it was motivated by "nationalist" causes. Stop building settlements and hiring Arabs. As soon as the occupation ends and they get their state, the world will be out of excuses for them. They'll still be left to their overflowing sewers, violent gang rivalries, overcrowding and rampant unemployment. Most importantly Israelis won't have to deal with this bs eventually.
2. Phillipinos
Jeffrey ,   Boston   (07.24.08)
There are plenty of Phillipinos who would love to work in Israel and send big chunks of their pay back home to their poor familes. Why in the world would Israel continue to hire Arabs to run construction equipment or have any tools that can be used as weapons in their hands? These 2 Arabs should be found and expelled to Gaza where they can wallow in # 1s overflowing sewage with their Hamas buddies.
3. Here in the US the *contractor* would be liable for damages
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (07.24.08)
The contractor hired them - no doubt because they were cheaper than Jewish labor and thus more profitable - and sent them to the job site. Perhaps if he *is* held responsible for monetary damages the next contractor will be more careful who they hire out.
4. The electrician was lucky

They could have killed him.

6. #1, There was no peace before the 67 war
Mike ,   Atlanta USA   (07.24.08)
So what's your basis for thinking there will be peace if Israel cedes land?
7. No cameras from B'tselem to record attacks by Palestinians

8. To Jake Partial Marshal Law is An Answer
Dave Levy ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (07.24.08)
To Jake: No,it's only when Jews attack others that their cameras are conveniently at hand. Look, Israel is fighting for it's very survival, yet still is living in a malaise of sorts. I recall when an Israeli said, "If the Palis attack, we will go back into the Strip". Sure!. Not that easy. Israel's are living in states of denial. A solution: partial marshal law..until this settles. First act: close down these so-called peace groups (really they are commiting treason), Arrest Arab Mks and others for sedition, as they did Hamas. No prisoner exchanges for dead Jews (unless verifiable) Hang Barghouti now. Send a hit team after kuntar, as with Munich. Stop all talks with Fatah ASAP. If the Palis don't like it, fine, let them do something about it. Call up intermittantly Israeli reservists to enforce. Draft the Haredi and religious into govt service. Make it a crime to receive foreign non supervised funding for any reason. Indict leaders AFTER they serve. Stop all talks with Hamas as proposed by Obama and send Iran a clear mesage (per McCain). Israel needs to wake up and grow up. It' s difficult but it will save the country future grief.
9. Stop employing Arabs and endangering your lives
Miriam ,   Israel   (07.24.08)
Heed the Rabbis' words and you'll be better off and safer.

Although I agree that there is no guarantee Palestinian violence will cease quickly after they are given a state. You must remember that there is a good portion of the world willing to assist them in getting their country off the ground. Any attacks iniated by them at this time, as there is so much foreign investment, is going to put a pretty big spotlight on them and will give Israel plenty of reason to stop whatever development is occuring and take everyone back to square one. No, I don't like the thought of having Israel having to rebuild her defenses after taking them down for an attempt at peace. But the attempt at peace does need to be made sooner rather than later. Yeah...there's that Gaza pullout. Sure. But no one has ever suggested Gaza alone would be their country. So it's an unrealistic response.
11. If the world was willing, there would already be peace
robert   (07.24.08)
to #10, it isn't just the people who want to help the pali's that are relavent. It is all of those others who don't give a fig about them apart from how they can be used to destroy Israel. And those people aren't going to go away if the Pali's get a state. The only consolation is in knowing they will not succeed in destroying Israel, unfortunately they are intent on trying at the cost of destroying themselves.
12. Sounds like workmen need to carry stun guns at work...
Rivkah   (07.25.08)
like a 1 million volt multi-lithium battery pack stun gun that will put a person on the gound with one jolt instead of a lot of jolts. With a lot of attackers with hammers, one needs to throw down attackers with one jolt to each.
13. # 5 Thanks for Your Concern but I can Read
Bill ,   US   (07.25.08)
I was making a side point because these "nationalist" acts of violence always managed to get justified by the occupation. Without the occupation, what excuse will they have? I hope I haven't wriiten too many words for you Geek.
