1. Been to this movie before. Lousy ratings
chaim ,   Tzur Hadassa   (07.26.08)
Ronald Ragen, George Bush Sr., Clinton, G.W.Bush Jr., Hillery, Obama Husain, and now McCain, all have declared this to be done, or has promised "if I am elected this will be my first act" and the Jews around the world run to the polls to vote. I know where my capital is and I don't need the US lies about moving the embassy. They can move it to Ramallah for all I care. After all, they have given enough $$ they could buy the place. Moving it to Jerusalem will give the US more leverage to dictate where and how to divide, and Olmert will suck it in hook, line, and sinker.
2. McCain
sas ,   israel   (07.26.08)
every president says the same thing in an election year. then when he moves into the WHITE HOUSE he suddenly changes his mind. Rather say things that you mean and that can be done.
3. Maybe he will, maybe he won't.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (07.26.08)
We've heard that one before - but, you can be 100% sure Obama won't. As for Bin Laden, it's not likely he'll be taken alive so this is pretty much just talk. Anyway, Bin Laden is not that important anymore - the real threat is the Muslim Brotherhood & it's offsprings and of course, Iran. Iran is not a "hypothetical" - so while I understand the political motives behind McCain's unwillingness to come right out & say he supports military action, I trust him more than I could possibly trust Obama. And speaking of Obama, there is an "exclusive" interview in JPost today. This interview, in my opinion, is a perfect example of how the media treats Obama with kid gloves. The interviewer let Obama slide on every question. One statement after the other was based on easily challenged unsupported assumptions, yet all were unchallenged by the rather wimpy interviewer. I wrote a talkback pointing that out & suggestingthat the interview would have been more pointed if carried out by Caroline Glick. Needless to say, the talkback was not printed. I have to commend Ynet on their censorship policy which is very much more open to opposing viewpoints than the JPost. In any case, while McCain is certainly not the perfect candidate (is there any such thing?), he's a safer choice than the slick-talking Obama. The bottom line is that, in the event, McCain will order military action against Iran & Obama will not.
4. When the International Community recognized Jerusalem as the
Rivkah   (07.26.08)
capital of Israel, that is one of the signals the Battle of Armageddon is within seven or less years on the horizon. It is part of the Covenant with Death Daniel in the Bible warned about that will become the biggest betrayal the Jews have ever known. Two thirds of the Jews will die, the Prophet Zechariah foretold. Worldwide, if the persecution is worldwide and it may very well be...then more Jews will die from that betrayal than the Holocaust of World War I and World War II combined. Jerusalem is and was and always will be the capital of Israel from God's perspective and love for the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and Judah. God has never abandoned his promises to the Jewish people. They are eternal promises. But for the world community to recognize Israel's right to have Jerusalem as the capital is a key signal that horrific events will come to pass and the judgment by fire of the earth to usher in the rule of the Lord on this earth are at hand. When the magnitude of the significance of recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital sinks in, Presidents back off on endorsing that because it is the end of Gentile World Rule that is at hand, too.
5. After that every USA Jew should support McCain

8. Why Do US Politicians Keep Sucking up to Israel?
(07.26.08)
McCain and Obama should be talking about how they will update our infrastructure, correct our screwed up foreign policy, fixing our education system, rebuilding our infrastructure, restoring our economy, creating new jobs, developing new sources of energy, but instead they are both putting on kappa’s, bending over and taking one for the Jewish vote that is less of a percent of our population than nearly every minority in the country, most of which couldn't give a damn about Israel, like a couple of stinking traitors paying off a bribe. I'm sorry, but it is time that we Americans stop electing these lily livered dimwits that kowtow to Israel and start electing members of a third or fourth party who are true patriots instead of another round of lackeys subservient to foreign interests. Vote Libertarian, vote green or write in a candidate, but neither Obama or McCain deserver you vote if you truly love America and do not want to see it destroyed. May God Bless America, but let Him non-denominational.
9. Jewish Americans for McCain. this is a bumper sticker

Christians DO NOT VOTE him, he disclaimed Jarusalem and left to Jews Christians made wars to control jarusalem themselves and but McCain stand down to Jews
11. Vote Mac Cain
John. D. ,   USA   (07.26.08)
Mac Cain got my vote, and traditionally I voted Democrat. But that time the issue is too important for us. I trust more Mac Cain on these issues. Isarel is facing a new Hitler with Ahmadinejad Iran's; And the guy should be stoppe dfrom being nuclear at all cost.
12. I believe him...
reality check ,   Tel Aviv   (07.26.08)
Senator McCain will actually be the only one of many who said this before, to keep his promise. That's what makes him different from Obama, he is a man of his word.
13. #7 Unobservant observer.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (07.26.08)
Be careful what you wish for. Personally, I'd like to see it, but, hey, that's just me. You Middle-Easterners don't deserve American embassies, only military viceroys. As the French used to say when they still had balls, the Civilizing Mission. Colonialism had a lot of good points as recent history seems to prove.
14. Sheikh Palazzi about Jerusalem.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (07.26.08)
The parallelism of Mecca and Jerusalem offers the basis of a solution, as Sheikh Palazzi wisely writes: Separation in directions of prayer is a mean to decrease possible rivalries in management of Holy Places. For those who receive from Allah the gift of equilibrium and the attitude to reconciliation, it should not be difficult to conclude that, as no one is willing to deny Muslims a complete sovereignty over Mecca, from an Islamic point of view -notwithstanding opposite, groundless propagandistic claims - there is not any sound theological reason to deny an equal right of Jews over Jerusalem. To back up this view, Palazzi notes several striking and oft-neglected passages in the Qur'an . One of them (5:22-23) quotes Moses instructing the Jews to "enter the Holy Land (al-ard al-muqaddisa) which God has assigned unto you." Another verse (17:104) has God Himself making the same point: "We said to the Children of Israel: ‘Dwell securely in the Land.'" Qur'an 2:145 states that the Jews "would not follow your qibla; nor are you going to follow their qibla," indicating a recognition of the Temple Mount as the Jews' direction of prayer. "God himself is saying that Jerusalem is as important to Jews as Mecca is to Moslems," Palazzi concludes. His analysis has a clear and sensible implication: just as Muslims rule an undivided Mecca, Jews should rule an undivided Jerusalem. Mor information at : http://xrl.us/bjheo
15. Jerusalem before the days of Muhammad.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (07.26.08)
Before the days of Muhammad, “Christian” conquerors had occupied Jerusalem (within the Byzantine Empire). Bringing one’s religion into battle demonstrated that both their armies and their religion were superior to those of their victims when they won. So, they usually built their holy places on top of their victims’ holy places, which they did on the Temple Mount, to absorb the strength of their conquered adversaries and to convert them to their religion. Even under the threat of the sword, the Jews refused to convert and allow their lineage to be absorbed, which would in effect, transfer God’s Covenant. Muhammad died in 632 c.e. Jerusalem was subsequently captured from the Romans by caliph Omar, six years after Muhammad’s death as explained in details at : http://xrl.us/bjheo
16. #13 military actions; like Iraq!
observer   (07.26.08)
I can see the world dictionary changes; words like military action is now meaning: the US begging Iraq's neighbors to extend their help....to the Americans!
17. #15 Arab Muslims won the land again from the crussaders
(07.26.08)
where were the Jews then? Contributed a little to the massacred fellow Muslims? then they came out of the sea with a fake logbook record & alleged promise from a superpower, they even weren't in touch with?

19. Maybe we should move our embassy to New York?
Tahl ,   Israel   (07.26.08)
As we say in Hebrew, "we've been to this movie already". Isn't this exactly what Clinton and Bush Jr. said before coming to the White House? 16 years, two full administrations later - nothing has changed. With all the sympathy towards McCain, why should he behave any differently? Maybe we should move our embassy to New York for the time being? And not just in America - in Britain, we should move it to Manchester, in Germany - to Frankfurt, in France - to Lyon, and so on, in every country of the world - move the embassy to the most important city other than the capital. That would teach them!
20. Rivkah, what the hell are you talking about?
Tahl ,   Israel   (07.26.08)
The same lunatic Christian prophecies of utter death and destruction to the world, have been around for decades by now. Whatever happened to the total annihilation they prophecised that would happen in the Millenium? Wasn't the Mount of Olives supposed to break in half, with the resurrected Jesus coming out of it? Hey, you promised us!! But I guess no one remembers failed prophecies. This reminds me of a story about one of those nutcases who formed his own cult who believed the end is here, and that an alien spaceship would come and rescue them just before that happens. At the specified date, they all came to the spot and eagerly waited for the spaceship to arrive. When it didn't, and when the world didn't come to an end several hours later, their leader simply said, "ok, nothing happened, let's go home..." But, I suppose one day, sooner or later, we will have a major war here, especially now with the nuclear weapons on hand, so they can't really go wrong with this approach. Just don't cry "wolf" beofre that really happens, ok Rivkah? I'm tired of liquidating my assets and stashing all my belongings, time after time.

...that would be a blessing if we finally started to stand by our principles. Those being, you do business and form alliances with countries that share the same values as you. I am pretty sure an American died so that you have the right to post your ignorance on this site.

25. This is meaningless. Isn't it?
Steve ,   US   (07.26.08)
I ask all of you on this forum who believe in McCain. Answer my complaint; everyone of you who posted a positive comment here above. Please answer me. Both George W. Bush and Bill Clinton pledged they would move America's ambassador to Israel's capital. Bush vowed he would do this immediately upon assuming office. Beyond that and more importantly Senator McCain and the entire GOP support the establishment of a Palestinian (no question, terrorist) state in Gaza, Judea, Samaria and maybe east Jerusalem; depending on the outcome of final negotiations. Republicans not only codified this in the national Republican party platform, August 2004, they also codified the forcible removal of Jews from the Holy Land. What difference then does this make, this meaningless gesture? In light of the enormity of what Bush and the GOP have formalized as US policy; that is the establishment of a Muslim terror state in Israel; dismantling Israel, one "settlement" at a time. John McCain's gesture is an empty one..

27. McCain Is A Buffoon .......
World Citizen ,   the world   (07.26.08)
who will say and do anything to get zionist fat cat jewish election contributions. He has even sung songs about bombing Iran to please the jewish neo-cons in the Bush administration, main stream media and rich zionist donors. Israelis who want peace in their lives should realize how much these rich zionists are doing to ruin the long term viability of the Jewish state. The zionists think they are doing good but in effect are setting up a great catastrophe. The United States is on the edge of fiscal collapse. The US dollar weakens by the month. If the dollar collapses the people of the US will realize they have lost everything they have worked for. They will also know that part of the cause was being duped into fighting proxy wars for Israel hegemony and oil. A total collapse of the US economy could happen if Israel or the United States were to attack Iran, McCain talks of attacking Iran. Be careful what you wish for. Unintended consequences can be difficult to live with.

I don't really believe in the so called just wars that have been started lately, let alone a holy war from long ago. I think that it goes against the Christian religion. Jesus says love thy neighbor. Going to war is like the etreme opposite. So I get upset. In terms of the US embassy in Jerusalem, this is Judaism's holiest place (we don't really have one), so I think that it is ok. P.S if anyone should respond I'm going to be away for a few days, so it would take me longer to get back to them.
29. #28 Marilyn
Connie ,   Virginia   (07.26.08)
Not Christian? What about verses from the Bible like these. "I have pursued my enemies and overtaken the; Neither did I turn back again till they were destroyed.I have wounded them, so that they could not rise; They have fallen under my feet. For You have armed me with strength for battle; You have subdued under me those who rose up against me. You have also given me the necks of my enemies, So that I destroyed those who hated me. Psalms 18:37-40. I don't like war either but with militant Islam on the rise, it's coming down to kill or be killed. Just ask my marine son. He has served one tour already in Iraq and will be going to Afghanistan in August. That being the case I want a president with war-time experience.
30. #3 Terry, I agree with you 100%
Connie ,   Virginia   (07.26.08)
I wonder sometimes how things would have gone different had McCain been elected president in 2000. They say he has a hot temper when provoked.
