1. A Baby Crawls First. Use a 12.00 Rope
Dave Levy ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (07.30.08)
Olmert's gov't is 100% kowtowed to the US of A, Bush, Condi and company. This, in exchange for a laser anti-Kassam system, some aid on the Arrow (similar system for Scuds and Shahabs), 30b in US military credits over 30 years..special funding at times. Also US UN support (UNSC biased anti-Semitic resolutions desguised as anti-Zionist), free trade, support in other forums, other charity, etc. That is why Israel won't attack per this article and why (instead of hanging Arabs when convicted of capital crimes), dead Jews are exchanged (or Jews whose status is unconfirmed). A baby starts to crawl first...Israel needs a 12.00 hangman's rope to begin with and a strong birch tree. Public caning like in China is not our way..but an eye for an eye is. Israel's liberalism and basic lack of religioius principles, is hurting it..and may spell it's doom. Iran has 6,000 centrifuges..on it's way to 54,000 and 10 bombs/year. Food for thought.
2. The Truth
Ricardo Macher ,   KarneiShomron Israel   (07.30.08)
MK Eldad is saying the truth, exactly as it is! Pity that so many other MKs try to dream awaken and not to see reality. The only reason this government does nothing to really solve problems is the fear of what Condoleeza Rice may say. That is disgusting, seeing like our Nation is driven by a person who has no interest (let alone sympathy) for Israel. Why cannot we for once do like the arabs do (like we did in the past) and tell the world to go to hell putting Israel's interest in top? Are we afraid of the opinion of the left? Let elections come and you'll see how many they are.
3. I agree 100%
Zionist ,   Miami   (07.30.08)
4. A great article..We are ALL hostages of the Terros at this r
Alan ,   SA   (07.30.08)
5. I agree 100% .....
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (07.30.08)
But it will have to wait until general elections & a new gov't. But your party will get my vote, that's for sure.
6. We should fight with the will to defeat the enemy.
Robert Bernier   (07.30.08)
US Congressman David Weldon (R., Florida), who visited Israel a few months ago, said Israel should strike back at Gaza in one fell swoop. "During World War II," Weldon told the Makor Rishon newspaper, "the U.S. attacked Japan mercilessly. Despite the ethical problems, everyone now agrees that this caused Japan to surrender, thus saving many lives, including Japanese lives. This is the reason I think Israel should hit the Palestinians with one fell swoop, thus defeating them. Otherwise, this cruel situation of today will continue year after year, decade after decade.Just like parents have to protect their children," Weldon said, "a state must protect its citizens, especially those who are threatened such as those in Sderot. If a country would attack the U.S., I would support turning that country into dust. If it’s right for the U.S., it's right for Israel."
7. How Olmert and Barak look at the things
Ron ,   Tel Aviv   (07.30.08)
I do not mention Livni because she is totally uninformed and, say, not very bright. Olmert/barak like the situation . Shalit plays no role in their thinking. So far, so good they say every day. If there is possibility of some political gain they will think about this. Now is the most important thing is to keep Kadima in power. The rest does not matter.
8. ULTIMATUM -ASSASSINATE_ RELEASE GILAT SHALIT
YITZAK BEN SHLOMO   (07.30.08)
" We can issue an ultimatum to Hamas that Israel would assassinate one of its leaders in Gaza or elsewhere every day if Gilad Shalit is not released at once."
9. Finally
Simon ,   Cincinnati, USA   (07.30.08)
Indeed! It's time to take the war to them and teach them a last lesson. If they are crushed totally, and this is coordinated with the West Bank Authority so that a seamless takeover occurs, we'll have seen the last of Hamas for a while.
10. Captulation is Not an Option
irv ,   exton, pa   (07.30.08)
Right On It' s about time someone spoke in real terms about the reality of what Israel is dealing with in Gaza. Jewish blood should not come cheap. If Hamas knows the heavy price they will pay for kidnapping one of our soldiers thay may think twice the next time. The United States had to bomb Japan in order to stop their aggression. They finally got the message. Enough is enough.
11. GREAT WORDS BUT WE NEED ACTION
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (07.30.08)
There are some members of the knesset who do see things in the right perspective. But they seem to have little to no power to implement any of their ideas. We keep on being stuck with whimpy, selfdelusional weaklings, only looking out for their own interests. What is it going to take to get some of these people into the right positions of decision making?
12. Gilad Shalit
Carol Givati ,   Cape Town S.A   (07.30.08)
I agree wholeheartedly with Arieh Eldad''s articleon how to deal with Hamas-not to capitulate- agovernment that is not afraid to respond appropriately.
13. Tell them to free Gilad alive and healthy
jason white ,   afula,israel   (07.30.08)
within two hours along with his kidnappers. If not one thousands palis terrorist prisoners will be killed. If no Gilan, then kill them and tell them one hour and we will kill another three thousand terrorists. If no Gilad in another hour and we will kill the rest of the prisoners. If Gilad is not returned, then bombard the gaza strip. There is nothing wrong with killing the enemy. Civilians included. The palis must learn that we are ready to kill thousands to stop terror.Let them live in fear of terror from us!
14. Fantastic Recommendations
Adina Kutnicki ,   israel, new oleh   (07.31.08)
Magnificent! As a new oleh I will join any campaign which will FORCE the leaders to implement Eldad's ideas. Killing the terror leaders, at least UNTIL Schalit is returned, does a few things - eiiminates many said terrorists, brings home Schalit, restores Jewish honor AND restores Jewish deterrance. Let me put it this way - which option gives an incentive for Hamas to cease torturing Jews- our capitulation, or our strength? Simple as that.
15. The Military Option
Jeff Grill ,   Phoenix, Arizona   (07.31.08)
MK Eldad is correct in his assessment. The barbarians who feed upon Jewish, Israeli blood must be dealt with harshly and severely. Unfortunately, the quislings who lead the current government have brought shame upon the nation of Israel. The peridious and treasonous Olmert, Livni, Peres, Ramon, etc. should be exiled and/or imprisoned. The Palestinian problem needs to be dealt with militarily as well as diplomatically. Israel needs to remain sovereign from the Jordan to the Mediterranean. The terrorist leadership in the PA and Hamas must be eliminated. A new era of Israeli leadership needs to emerge. An era reminiscent of mid 70's (Entebbe). Appeasement and capitulation to terror will only lead to more disasters and setbacks.
16. to #14 Welcome to Chelm.
jason white ,   afula,israel   (08.01.08)
Glad you came,I hope we get a few hundred thousand more olim from the U.S.
17. These were Likud gov'ts that...
msh ,   Haifa   (08.03.08)
made all these outragious prisoner exchanges, and these were the Labor PM's that firmly stood up to the principle of no negotiation with terrorist. This writer for some reasons prefers to 'forget' tis fact
18. capitulation is no option
Art Schwartz ,   IRVINE, USA   (08.05.08)
Whatever word or term you use, surrender is surrender. The surrender of a killer of an Israeli mother and daughter for 2 souls long in the after-life was a disgrace to their memories. Now more than ever" NEVER AGAIN" must be more than a slogan it must be POLICY.
