3. Please tell me!!!
Truth Seeker ,   Pak   (07.31.08)
I am unable to understand how Iranian program is 'Illegal' or 'illicit'? 1) To date IAEA found nothing to prove that Iran is heading towards Nukes. 2) Iran has signed all treaties and IAEA qualifies that Iran is abiding by all treaties. On the other hand: 1) The states saying Iran's nuke program illegal have not been signed IAEA treaties 2) They have hundreds of Nukes. 3) Further more USA has the 'distinction' of exercising of nukes over humans of japan while no other nation have done it. Is not it Propeganda? Is not it Hypocracy? Are they not lying like they lied about WMD before iraq war?
4. Hammer and Anvil
Septimus ,   Rome   (07.31.08)
The islamic entity of Iran with its facsist and expansionist behaviour is now caught between the anvil of sanctions that will cripple its already shaked economy, and the hammer of a IAF attack that will destroy its terrorist nuclear infrastructure despite the billions themullahs invested in. Iran is in avery bad situation, and every fool play from that entity will get the answer it deserve.
5. When Barak talks about Lebanon ....
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (07.31.08)
How does he keep a straight face? He is more responsible for the situation in Lebanon than anyone else. Who ran out of S. Lebanon overnight, leaving equipment & supplies, abandonning our S. Lebanese allies, & creating the power vacuum that Hezbollah eagerly filled to our great disadvantage? His tough talk on Iran is just that - talk. He knows damn well nothing will work except military action. He knows damn well the international community (whatever that is) will do basically nothing to stop Iran. He knows damn well that the Americans do not contemplate military action & are trying to delay our action. And look to whom he is addressing this "tough talk" - the UN. How funny is that? This is a man well known for saying something one day & doing the opposite the next. The only thing he is deadly serious about is making concessions to our enemies.

Robert Bernier   (07.31.08)
Can we afford to avoid a preventive strike against a declared genocidal Iran ? A nuclear Iran has become an increasingly contentious issue. In the light of Western impotence, many Israelis are calling for a preventive strike against a declared genocidal intention. According to Israeli analysts, without preventive military action, production of an Iranian bomb is just a matter of time. Moreover, the annihilationist rhetoric used by Iran’s leaders, chiefly by President Ahmadinejad, is not a matter of sloganeering but indeed a program, in which the destruction of Israel is indispensable for the attainment of Iran’s manifest destiny – the “islamization” of the world. A quasi-consensus is emerging in Israel on the necessity of bombing Iranian nuclear installations.

Dear Terry, You go straight to the point and I like that. What amazes me about Mr. Barak, is his being the most decorated soldier in the history of IDF for his deeds, then, and the mistakes he did later. I think he's good in executing orders, as once General Sharon said when he pondered upon appointing him as Defence Secretary in his cabinet , but he's lousy in making decsions, like all the leftists in this world.
9. RARELY A DEFENCE MINISTER..............#5
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (07.31.08)
Addresses the chief of UN.I have never before read it.However, you seem to be more annoyed with Barak. Why?Under the circumstances,I feel that you are overestimating IDF strength. If all other options have been exhausted, what was the logic of waiting upt now? That is the area you should be concentrating on. Lebanon blunders are all part and parcel of underestimating the Hizbullah's and, once again, overestimating IDF strength.Look at the situation unbiasedly and you will get the answer.

Many people say I lack tact - kind of you to describe it as "getting straight to the point". Barak may have been a highly decorated soldier but he quickly became infected with personal ambition & opportunism. He used his political position to make business connexions for financial gain. In my opinion, he is an unprincipled man of little honour. I'm not sure this has much to do with being on the Left politically - some Leftists, no matter how wrong I think they may be, are sincere & have great personal integrity. Barak is not one of them. His poor decision-making abilities stem, I believe, just because he has no principles & is an opportunist, ignoring long-term strategy for immediate gain. Like many who have gone beyond their level of competence, he panics easily & makes poorly thought out decisions. In any case, his self-interest certainly seems to out-weigh any other factors in his calculations. As you can see, I'm not his biggest fan. Nice to see someone from your country taking an interest in our politics.

Just for the records, I work and live in Riyadh, but am orignally from Lebanon. Naturally, I have an interest in Israel and Israeli affairs, since we're directly affected. Bresides, since long we have considerd Israel as an ally and a role model like all minorities who live in this vast Islamo-Arabic sea.
