1. Education CUTS
CIA ,   T.A   (07.31.08)
In my humble opinion these cuts are far too small for our current education system (YES too SMALL). Our education system brings forth Drug addicts, Rapist and Animals. We au-to punish them with huge cuts, unless/until they prove themselves capable of teaching morals (Jewish Morals), as well as academics. If this was a business, which constantly produces bad products it would have gone bankrupt a long time ago
2. budget Cuts

how dare they, the educational system here is poor at most to begin with and to further cut back on its funding is ludricous! My daughter has had her fair share of incompetant teachers here and to cut the buget will only chase away effective teachers. I am sick of the yearly strike at the beginning of the school year , it only harms our children who are not getting a worthwhile education to begin with. The gov. should be ashamed!
3. Public education is very poor ..Its time for private schools
Al   (07.31.08)
Its way time that parents start looking into private schools for their kids. If you afford holidays to Australia and trips to the Swiss Alps you can afford private education for your kids. As far as university costs are concerned they are a joke..Way too many dummies are attending University...Push them into trade schools there they will actually have to work for a living. One size doesnt fit all..Thats too bad..thats life.

5. Israeli "Education"
Eitan ,   New York, USA   (07.31.08)
Of all the things to cut, why education? Why not get rid of some useless bureaucracy instead, say, the Ministry of Culture and Sport, for instance? Or not fund any designer bridges for impoverished Jerusalem next year? Israeli public schools produce woefully ignorant graduates with no moral center. They can't discuss anything in a meaningful way except shopping and soccer and cell phones and parties and drugs. They have only the most rudimentary knowledge of Israeli history, and absolutely no knowledge of world history or politics. Complete ignorance. And right-wing MKs wonder why people would rather raise their children on Long Island or in London or Toronto. Go figure.... Let's face it. Anyone who lived in Israel has to admit that for all their positive traits, the average Israeli is pretty ignorant about both the world at large, and, more scandalously, his own country. To drain money from an already sub-par educational system on the assumption that these students will be properly educated in a university is total nonsense, and defies every notion of proper Western education, especially considering that a university education in Israel is no guarantee of a decent-paying job (and let's not even broach the subject of the so-called "academic colleges").
