Dani ,   Tel Aviv   (08.06.08)
When they riot violently. That stopped their violence. Then he changed his mind and capitulated to them instead. The result has been thousands of dead and wounded with no end in sight- until we go back to the first way.
2. shame
dovie   (08.06.08)
dismiss heroes and promote losers shame on you. the MAGAV has been suffering daily injuries there, no one cares. flaten the village and put the foreing activists with common criminals in jail. then deport them
3. he shot a RUBBER bullet, so WHAT?
Nelly ,   switzerland   (08.06.08)
4. If the facts were the other way around...
David ,   Brazil   (08.06.08)
A Jewish Israeli "caught by arab security forces"... That gun would most certainly be fired at his heart. On top of that: No inquest, but joy, candies and sweets.

The famous saying of the previous century: spare the rod and spoil the child. And look what has been created by not adhering to the message of that expression.
6. stop the insanity!
oded   (08.06.08)
why dismissing the commander? if he indeed gave the order to scare the arab, he should be commanded and aplauded! how else should we treat rioting, out of control arab youth who pose serious threats to our troops?
7. Typical
Wise Man ,   USA   (08.06.08)
Typical Israeli justice. Arab blood have no value.
8. olmert only interested in appeasement
Arie ,   BaGolan   (08.06.08)
While the incident was regretful, dismissing him is over the top. Imagine if the kadima/labour team was so decisive when qassams are fired at the Negev. hamas would be routed by now. But they are too busy acting the part of appeaser to the islamofascist and the anti-State TA leftists to care about our security!

Mike Sjovic ,   NY USA   (08.06.08)
#2, if your and Israels heroes are the ones that cowardly shoot a handcuffed man, then shame on you and who thinks like you #3, if it is nothing why dont you try it on yourelf or better yet on your loved ones then come back and say so what? #6 can't you understand what you are reading. he gave the order to shoot him, not scare him. polygraph tests showed it. besides, the punishment they are getting for what they id is nothing. they are getting just a slap on the wrist. they should be jailed because of their conduct and consequences of that conduct in the international community as it disgraced "the most moral army in the world" IDF.
10. Been watching the Israel situation since before Gal Hirsch
USA   (08.06.08)
Do you have any commanders left? Israelis politicians make Israelis live in constant conflict. They are the ones who should be dismissed. THEY know the truth about the violent Palestinians and Hezbollah and that it has nothing to do with land, but instead they choose listen to the insane International community and keep trying to negotiate towards peace while Israelis suffer. Stop the electricity and water for the Palestinians and tell the International community its their burden now, that you wipe your hands of it. Stop allowing Palestinians across the check points to run your people down with construction equipment. The UN is a terrorist organization, the BBC is a propaganda organization with a LARGE audience. USA news outlets are becoming just as corrupt. Make a stand Israel, and maybe change the direction of this world. YOU all know the truth. Some of our leaders here in the USA seriously don't know the truth about The Muslim Brotherhood's plan.
11. Nelly 3 - So what?
Kim   (08.06.08)
Nelly, either your completely ignorant or a fool. The name rubber bullet is a misnomer. They are in fact steel bullets coated with a few millimetres of rubber. Rubber bullets kill, as the death this week of 17 year old Yusef Amer from Nilin village (the same place the commander order the solider to fire at the bound Palestinian prisoner).
12. why does the girl answers ther phone while filming?
rachel ,   usa   (08.07.08)
1. the girl has been told to shoot camera toward soldier who is going to be aiming his gun . 2. Someone shoots (side of camera)at the group of soldiers interrogating the protester .(We don't see that) 3.Then the soldier aims his gun where shot was fired , in direction of the camera . 4.Someone shoots again near protestor's leg , this time for the camera . 5. Protestor falls (maybe he knows all about it ). 6 meanwhile girl is shooting whole thing with camera and receives phone call from shooter asking "if she got it all on film " film is cut to fit story , more propaganda against Israel , maybe it will convince the world how much they are suffering because of Israeli abuse . more crying and asking for help .....and the most important they need MORE MONEY ... propaganda for the whole Arab world and media to show atrocities committed by the evil Jews ..... either way they can't lose ......because as long as it is to criticizes Jews ...Arab with gleefully accept without question what their media tell them ......MORE PALLYWOOD .....
13. Alyah? No way...
EYS ,   montreal canada   (08.07.08)
Im not doing alyah and I won't give a dime for a state of Israel who freed Kuntar and prosecute one of his army commander because of a bullet shot in a palestinian's foot. Absolutely non sensical.
14. To Kim - no kidding?
EYS ,   Montreal Canada   (08.07.08)
Oh really? And you thinks the palestinians terrorists use rubber bullets them in their kalashnikoff?
15. Cameras for all Palestinians...
Edithann, USA   (08.07.08)
Every Palestinian man, woman and child should have a camera on them at all times.....then those brave IDF will think twice ...and you Isaeli's will have to think twice too... After reading the comments..and seeing how much Israeli's love the thought of Palestinians being hurt, and killed, one certainly has to realize it's a duty to tell you all what I see and how I feel about what you do and say... So you are warned..This is my camera..and I will use it..to show you exactly 'what you are'! And we shall see what Ynetnews does about it.....
16. Hey usa..I hope you're not an American.
Edithann, USA   (08.07.08)
I'm hoping you're not an American USA or I'd be mortified that you were one of us... Your attitude is despicable.. First you steal their lands and then you make them criminals and think nothing of killing them?. Why? Because they didn't hand over their homes and lands to the returing Jews after centuries??????????. We see the world through different glasses..but by the time I'm finished..you will all be thinking twice about the despicable things you say and condone..
17. The commandervdid not do anything wrong.
EGW ,   vancoulver canada   (08.07.08)
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I read the report which said that the commander of the terrorist, to "give him a fright". If this is so, and i haven't read any denial, then he should not be facing any charges.. The international pressure is based on anti-semitism, not international law.
18. a small matter
Christian ,   Sweden   (08.07.08)
Israel is at war. People get killed or are maimed for life on a regular basis. A youth getting his toe bruised is in this connection a small matter. It is obvious that the intention of the commander was not to "shoot" the youth, he had shurely been dead in that case, but only to scare him by a very close shot. Nevertheless the commander has shown himself to be in bad judgement and conduct. He should therefore be disciplined. There is nothing more to it.
19. WHERE IS JUSTICE?
Miriam ,   Israel   (08.07.08)
When Eden Natan-Zada Hy"d – who killed for self-defense - was lynched and killed by Arab terrrorists mob AFTER the police arrested him, the Israeli CRIMINAL "HIGH" COURT decided not to charge the suspects with any sort of crime!!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT! WHAT KIND OF JUSTICE SYSTEM DOES ISRAEL HAVE?
20. Mike Sjovik - # 9
Michael ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (08.07.08)
Read the article carefully, then learn about what is written and its implications in Israel. This officer has been "relieved for cause" and will not be given any command position in the future. For all intents and purposes, his military career is dead-ended, if not over. He will probably not be allowed to extend his service past his present contract. If he doesn't have 20 years, he has no pension. In the civilian job market, he will not be hired for any position of authority or one in which he has subordinates. In short, his aspirations and chances of well-paying employment or advancement are over, both in the military and civilian market. He will have the rest of his life to ponder his mistake. Isn't that enough punishment for you?
21. #4 - David
Alan ,   Askhkelon, ISRAEL   (08.07.08)
It bothers me when people like you say, "but if it was the other way around...". We should be happy that we have a more humane, more compassionate, and less aggressive military than those who would see us dead in a second. We don't WANT to be like "them", which is why we SHOULD punish those Israelis who act like them.
22. For Alan # 21
Ricardo Macher ,   KarneiShomron Israel   (08.07.08)
Dear Alan, You live in Ashkelon, you received some rockets over your town already. Do you really believe that an army of guys throwing flowers will change this terrorists position? I believe that we are too soft on the arabs and that this is shameful for the army, not because of making a blister to a terrorist, but because of the fear of the opinion of the press our judges (civilian and military) have
23. Edithann, USA, #16 - I am an American
USA   (08.08.08)
You are the enemy within. Why are there thousands of "Palestinian" refugees on the Iraq/Syrian border that their Arab brothers won't accept into their countries, EdithAnn?
