1. second place news
eliezer ,   jerusalem   (08.11.08)
It is interesting that at the time I am writing this piece, that the rocket attack made second place in Ynet's news, yet Russia's attack on Georgia which is hardly connected to Israel made first. Perhaps we should re-think our priorities!

Protection of civilians weekly report 30 Jul - 05 Aug 2008 Military activities affecting civilians In the Gaza Strip, there were no Palestinian or Israeli casualties due to direct-conflict incidents. For the first time since the ceasefire began on 19 June, two IDF bulldozers guarded by two tanks entered approximately 200 metres into the Gaza Strip east of Khan Younis, detonated an explosive device and withdrew. IDF patrol boats continue to fire at Palestinian fishing boats at sea, forcing them to return to shore—this week, two incidents of this sort occurred. In the West Bank, there was a significant decrease in IDF search operations (79 compared to 120 last week) and a minor decrease in the number of reported arrests/detentions of Palestinians (70 compared to 85 last week). However, civilian casualties continued. A 17-year-old boy died of wounds sustained when he was shot by the IDF in Ni’lin. The incident occurred when large numbers of Palestinians were trying to enter Ni’lin to participate in the funeral of a 10-year-old boy killed by the Border Police the day before. Twenty unarmed civilians, including six children were also injured by the IDF during military operations and anti-Barrier demonstrations in Ni’ilin. The Israeli Border Police also entered the Jerusalem National Theatre (Al Hakawati), where various schools were organising a celebration of the high school matriculation exams (Tawjihi). Claiming that the celebration is under the auspices of the Palestinian Authority, which is not authorized by the Israeli authorities to operate in East Jerusalem, the Border Police stopped participants from entering the hall, forced everybody out and cancelled the event
3. A Two State solution =State Of War, State Of Peace
Yonatan ,   Nahariya   (08.11.08)
The FANTASY of peaceful arabs that proponents of the Oslo war accords dreamed up from their delusional socialist kibbutzim days is a total failure. The arabs have not met one of the many criteria for a road map to be implemented but the world at large seems bent on making Israel alone follow its parameters. Anytime an agreement was reached and signed the arabs got wide ranging concessions from Israel and Israeli Jews received bloody intifadas. What is quite clear now is the outcome of the Oslo war accords has given rise to a vendetta ridden extremist Islamic entity (hamass) controlling a large portion of Israel’s border with Egypt. The Egyptian part in this constant war against Israel is very clear, they are enabling theses murderous hordes to arm themselves with sophisticated weapons at the behest of Iran. Exactly how do surface to air missiles, sophisticated anti tank launchers and mortars over 100 mm get into Gaza without Egyptian permission and tacit acceptance? The first fantasy that should be squelched with the reality of facts is that Egypt is not an ally of Israel. The second fantasy is that arabs occupying territory inside the contiguous borders of Israel are capable of any self rule and cohabitation with a Jewish state. Do we need sixteen more years of homicidal mayhem in Israeli restaurants, buses and rocket attacks on schools to realize Oslo was a blunder of unprecedented greatness? How many more thousands of dead and triple that number of permanently disabled fellows Jews are we willing to absorb to let our leftist leaders continue the charade of peace with our sworn enemies? Olmert is still making agreements knowing he will be indicted by the police! The only thing more delusional than our leaders is the Israeli public at large that is accepting the obvious failures without rebelling one tiny bit!!!
4. Kassam hits Sderot
Ger ,   Raanana, Israel`   (08.11.08)
The first since Saturday night!! That's almost 2-1/2 days, so what the hell are we complaining about? Incidentally, I see that Israel is going to transfer money to Gaza today. To pay for more rockets, perhaps.
5. Missiles still flying
Frank Bureaux ,   Wichita   (08.11.08)
What's with those israelis - they have a subversive government. Those missile have been flying for over 7 years and - insteading od making the area being fired from - a crapet, they give the enemy more territory and keep negotiating to give more. Why won't these people remove this cancerous governmrnt already - what's with the apathy? It could be the press is also at fault. Instead of counting the missiles, they tend to report the "good" side all the time - no injuries. The country should be in a state of high alert. Instead, the people are in a state of deep slumber.
6. (Another) Qassam lands
I.Kemp ,   Nahariya Israel   (08.11.08)
To quote Barak "..a Gaza operation would not solve the problem ". Solution : Barak step down and let someone in who can solve the problem militarily because that is the only way and who doesn't admit defeat from his armchair .. We should not be surprised though after his panic retreat from Lebanon
7. Restarted?!!!!!!!!!

8. While Missles are flying Dr. Yarkov - Russia,
Miriam ,   Israel   (08.11.08)
Rice, the UN, the EU and the rest of the anti-Semitic world have the chutzpah to continue to condemn Israel. When will our toothless cowardly leaders – Olmert, Barak, Livni, Mofaz, etc. - learn to do what's good for this country instead of begging to be accepted by these anti-Semitic nations? When will our foolish leaders realize the fact that "Esav sonei leYakov" - the goyim will forever hate us?????
9. No physical injuries
daat y ,   jerusalem   (08.11.08)
I strongly suggest that when mention of 'no injuries 'YNET state 'no physical injuries.'As a result of the kassams there are always psychological injuries.Over 80% of the population are suffering from post-traumatic disorder symptoms.
10. Israel should uproot Hamas once and for all.
Robert Bernier   (08.12.08)
Israel should uproot Hamas once and for all. Under the circumstances, what is needed is not negotiations with Hamas, but strong military action against it. Israel should not undertake a brief incursion, but a major invasion of Gaza to uproot Hamas once and for all. If the Israeli leadership doesn’t take such action, it risks Hamas growing into an even greater menace to the State of Israel than it is today as described at : http://xrl.us/kkxrc
11. Shouldn't that be "ALLEGED truce"?
