It's farm land, folks - yes, it's part of the Negev desert but all the land north of about Kiryat Gat (the same latitude as Gaza) has farmable land. Israel did not offer the Palestinians 5%+ of worthless land. I think the Palestinian commentator who said that 100% dignity is what he wanted was spot on - that's why there won't be a solution. They can't appreciate anybody's dignity but their own, and their own sits upon objectives that might have been achievable before the Arab League went to war with the new state of Israel in 1947, but not after. It's time for them to see the greatest dignity comes from giving their children a chance to live in peace, not to mention the 100's of thousands of dollars in aid per person that will pour into a Palestinian state (instead of Hamas' coffers from Iran and Hizbollah) if they agree. This is why Hamas insists on attacking the crossing points in to Israel like Erez all the time - they don't want Palestinians to get used to a better way of life so that heaven forfend they might prefer that to their everlasting "struggle". Nothing will ever satisfy the Palestinians except to occupy all of Israel. In fact, they are now putting out the idea of a "bi-national" state. The problem with that idea is that would not be "bi-national" after the Palestinians expel or kill all the Jews. Even if Israel returned to its pre-6 Day War border, there would be no peace because the Palestinians would still insist on the millions of Palestinians flooding into Israel. The whole issue of peace negotiations with the Palestinians is an exercise in mental masturbation.

Sami, some Muslims have helped save Jews on more occasions than just the dreaded Spanish Inquisition. When I think of the many enemies of Israel and Jews worldwide I see beyond racial divides. I'm a right wing Jewish settler, but that doesn't mean I have blinkers on. First, I have total faith that the whole of Israel was given from the one true G-d for Am Yisroel. I also hold by our commandment that law abiding non Jews can live peacefully within our borders, and from a personal stance enjoy decent human rights in the process. Sami, Arab friends of mine have told me on several occasions that they actually prefer Israel with a decent Jewish government than the corrupt PA. Please G-d, we can soon have a corrupt free Jewish government that will first accept the whole of Israel as our Divinly given Jewish homeland, and in the process offer other decent law abiding citizens a place in our beloved land. Abbas is supposed to reject this proposal. He'll ask for more. Olmert will add something more to the package... like a few thousand "refugees" into pre-1967 Israel? Abbas will refuse. And then Olmert will offer what both men know he must offer: half of Jerusalem. And in exchange, dear Israelis, you will get a nice piece of paper signed by two leaders who will retire soon afterward. Abbas' successor will take what Olmert gave and, a few days later, demand more...punctuating his demands with rockets launched from everywhere along the border with Israel. And so it goes.

How long will this farce last? Nothing is enough for the Palestinians! Time to inform them that for every month of intransigence a new settlement will be built around Jerusalem with private land expropriated for its needs. I don't see another solution.
