The pot calling the kettle black ! What freedom do the Egyptians have ? Sort your own house our before criticizing others.

3. A spy for our "peaceful" neighbor
YMBMY ,   Modiin, Israel   (08.13.08)
and he wants to revive the peace process. Says a lot about our "peace" partners.
4. You are......
Poitcha ,   Israel   (08.13.08)
U r even more pathetic than you look. The lifestyle you had whilst serving as "ambassador" will never be repeated anywhere. You were the one who didn't want to leave and return to your so called 'HOME" as it was way to good for you here. And even if you were sent as an intelligence officer.....who cares.....go back to your Muslim Brotherhood and let's see what happens to you when the going get's tough over there.....now that you have exposed your true identity...noone here will be willing to pick up the pieces. MORON !!!!!!!!!!!!
5. Intelligence officer with no intelligence
Robert ,   USA   (08.13.08)
Why not lecture on Egyptian food prices and shortages? And immigrants from all over the world? Just the Arabs from Jordan and Egypt and the Ottomans from Turkey. And no 'Israeli society??? The Persians are doing more for your "brothers and sisters" in Iraq than Arab society. And Israel has to feed, give electricity and jobs to your Arab - now "Palestinian" rejects.
6. Does his concept of immigrant society also apply to US?

(08.13.08)
as a human being and citizen living in europe and the usa part time, a non jew and non israeli..... i am not too surprised to see an outgoing arab politician leaving his post in such a shameful manner and exiting with such shameful words. nowhere in the world have i witnessed any other poltician bad mouth a country and a people in which he resided. it is a shame to read such words by a politician in a position to bring people together rather than split them apart and criticise. there are multitudes of civilized political appointees to every major country in the world that met with dissapointments, but i have not heard any one of them utter these vile arab words. it is no wonder. an arab is going to be always an arab, and their true color and motivation is clear anywhere they are posted in the world. it is shameful calling another human being a corpse! it is shameful when you criticise the country you were posted in in such a shameful and lying way. now, let us concentrate on egypt, mr. bassiouni: "maltreatment of arabs in israel"....well, we can't possibly compete with your maltreatment of jews, christians, etc... in your country. they are not there to speak since you kill them all. "society of immigrants"....most of israeli society, mr. bassiouni, is composed, 70% of them, of descendants of those same jews that lived in your arab country prior to 1947-1950, whom you expelled ,robbed, killed, pogromed against, murdered, stole from and finally kicked out of your country for no reason whatsoever. yes, these are "your jewish immigrants" that were kicked out of egypt and other arab countries....1,000,000 million of them! give them back their properties and stolen goods please before you complain about the israeli society. "israelis of arab origin cannot serve in the government". really, mr. bassiouni???? mofaz, majadele (real arab, not jew), katzav, the multitudes of useless arab mk's in the knesset. now, let's see....can a jew serve in the egyptian government? can a jew be a minister in egypt? can a jew function freely in egypt without persecution? you are one to talk. best you look into the functioning of your country and society where freedom and free speach/press are nonexistent, where your jews lived in utter terror and fear of mass murder, where your politicians do not have a chance to be "sleeping corpses" because they are always murdered and assassinated before old age, where your "society" is one of a mob mentality, uneducated, not advanced, hateful and intollerant, where your previous and present leaders are autocratic dictators, corrupt to the bone, assassins and mentally backwards, where they use the masses to keep them uneducated and restrained so as to rule and abuse them for centuries. you, mr. bassiouni, are one to talk. i suggest you leave this post in dignity, not in shame and do us all a favor and dissapear into your always insignificant political career.

how can you gather intelligence if you, in the first place, do not possess one of your own?
9. Peace with Arabs
Ofer ,   Israel   (08.13.08)
I didn't notice that he suffered here, he was a party animal when he was amabassador. This slanderous outburst is an example of what happens when you try to make peace with Arabs. The biggest laugh is the part about the mistreatment of Arabs. If you want to know about mistreatment ask the tens of thousands of Egyptian Jews who were persecuted then driven out of Egypt with nothing.
10. Egypt Ambassador
I.Kemp ,   Nahariya Israel   (08.13.08)
Unfortunately the Ambassador is right on all three though with Sharon he was a wonderful General but as PM he was a monumental disaster. Lets hope a repeat is avoided by having either Drippy Livni, Mofaz or "Foxhole" Barak
11. Unintelligence more accurate.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (08.13.08)
12. Egypt is stil an enemy of the Jewish State.
Ben Avraham ,   Tel Aviv   (08.13.08)
It's about time we realize that we gave away a buffer zone called the Sinai and its oil fields for a phony temporary peace.
13. Intelligence officer?
Bill ,   US   (08.13.08)
He didn't uncover anything that people outside the region didn't know already. Israelis are immigrants. Israeli-Arabs aren't treated as equals, Sharon is kept alive by machines, Lini and Mofaz are unqualified to lead, etc. If I said Egypt's government is a dictatorship that keeps the people from being ruled by the Muslim Brotherhood against their wishes, passively supports the oppression of the true Egyptians, the Copts, and has broken nearly everyone of its peace agreements with Israel would I be an intelligence officer too? Sounds to me like Bassiouni was the Egyptian ambassador to Israel and nothing more.
14. B Ass iouni
Natan   (08.13.08)
"I don’t care who gets elected, I just want to know who can revive the peace process." With schmocks like you??? Are you kidding me???
15. Adios , spy
Jake   (08.13.08)
Thank you for your honesty. Now we know what Egypt's "peace" with Israel is really all about. And thank you for clarifying that Ashraf Marwan was indeed murdered by Arab agents to avenge his being on the Israeli intelligence payroll. I hope the Arab and Palestinian leaders learn from you and start telling the truth, for a change.
16. Arafat himself was an Egyptian immigrant, sucker!
Jake   (08.13.08)
17. wasn't he accused of rape
fish ,   tel-aviv   (08.13.08)
of a belly dancer in Israel while an ambassador here? I do believe my memory serves me right, it was in mid 90-s?
18. I also want to revise the peace agreement with egypt
yerushalmi ,   Jerusalem   (08.13.08)
I want sinai back, and cancelation of obligations on balistinian authonomy. I am all for it. We could make a lot of money in toursim in sinai, and with today's oil prices, we really need those oil wells.
19. bASSiouni !
Shadoil ,   Jerusalem   (08.13.08)
20. Bassiouni's education
Edithann, USA   (08.13.08)
Seems Bassiouni didn't bring back any real intelligence..but he certainly got an education as to the true cultural nature of Israel..like there isn't any...
21. Bassiouni - bitter and bigoted to the end
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (08.13.08)
Serving as an "intelligence" officer in Israel couldn't have been too hard. Unlike Egypt, Israel is an open society; heck, stuff "leaks" from government cabinet meetings soon after they break up. And describing Livni, Barak and Mofaz as "unfit for leadership" is an easy call. But an Arab will always find fault in a government run by non-Muslims, especially one run by infidel Jews. As to the "treatment" of Israeli Arabs, Egypt's treatment today of its Coptic population, like that of its Jews over the centuries, remains Egypt's shame. Heck, Israel treats its Arab citizens better than Egypt treats its own Arabs!
22. bitter memories of Israel?
israeli ,   israel   (08.13.08)
does that include his attempt to rape a belly dancer?
23. Do Yoy Get It Now ?
Abdel Karim Salim ,   Jerusalem -ISRAEL   (08.13.08)
Can you see now how Arabs, including Egyptians, genuinely feel toward Israel? Camp David Treaty is only a transient pause of hostilities, and serves only to give Egypt a breathing space and a period for revival and awakening.
24. Good bye friend...
eli ,   eu   (08.13.08)
...of Israeli lefties, Shas and other morons.
25. Looks as Mossad rejected his CV

israeli ,   israel   (08.13.08)
yep, fond(ling) memories there (not for the belly dancer though)
27. Uneducated Ambassador
Brod ,   USA   (08.13.08)
This is one ambassador who does not know Israel's history from ancient time. To fanatical Islamist-Jihadists, they think the Holy Bible is a myth and that the Jewish people came from Mars. And the venom of AntiSemitism, that the Islamist-Jihadist world has been imbibing since the 7th century when they emerged from the Arabian Desert, is still running in their blood streams as seen by his comments. Peace to the Islamist-Jihadists means usurping Israel's land and cleansing Israel of Jews. This is not the peace that Westerners have in mind. Ali Sina writes in his Must Read book, "Understanding Muhammad," that "Islam is a cult and Muslims have a very cultic mentality." Hence, there is nothing much you can expect from them.
28. Edith Bum what do you know?
Genuine Tosefta ,   Tveria   (08.13.08)
Without living in either Egypt or Israel you are not qualified to make a comparison of the two countries and their respective societies, and neither have an opinion nor make any comment. Keep in mind that you are an uninvited visitor on a Jewish website and your illegal status here doesn't give you the right to be rude or disrespectful. BUM BUM! .................. BUM!
29. This scumbag assaulted a belly dancer!
Tahl ,   Israel   (08.13.08)
The Foreign Ministry kept this incident very quiet, in order to not to disturb the peace with Egypt. How self-nullifying are we? Can you imagine what would happen in Egypt, if the Israeli ambassadors assaults an Egyptian belly dancer??? An all-out war, for sure! And now, how hypocritical of him - he dares badmouthing Israel, including insulting a dying prime minister - true to his Israel-hating country's glorious tradition. What an douchebag. I really don't understand why we need peace with such pigs. Is this what they're giving back for their 2 billion American dollars a year?
30. #6" The difference
Global Citizen ,   Israel   (08.13.08)
Not only was the US intended tobe a "melting pot" - as opposed to a country based on a deep cultural history - but they actually do more to maintain an American society than Israel protects her character. I never thought I'd find anything to agree on with Bassiouni, but he is right when it comes to immigrants from the FSU - we are giving them carte blanche to steamroll over everything we previously held dear, with a passive-aggressive version of what we saw in Georgia this past week.
