1. Why is it illegal to buy a rifle in Israel?

There are plenty of people who would like to target shoot. At least let veterans of the I.D.F. purchase target rifles. Give more people a chance to participate in this sport.
2. No apologies necessary!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (08.15.08)
You and the other athletes have brought pride to our country! Kol Ha Kavod! If any criticism is necessary it must be leveled against the sports authorities and the media here in Israel. The Olympic Games prove that the sun does not rise not set with soccer or basketball! Our news media, particularly TV, are so besotted with these two sports that they neglect to cover world events that Israel is participating in. Every year our athletes, judoka, gymnasts, ice skaters, marksmen and swimmers represent Israel in international events and the first we know of our successes and failures are at the end of the news or a tiny article in one of the newspapers. One cannot expect the Government to finance sport but surely the Lotto and the Sport Totto should be doing this. A suggestion to the Mifal Ha Payis: a Lotto Olympia to finance the Israeli Olympians for the 2012 London Olympics! I am sure that there will be no shortage of takers! May we also ask that, as basketball and soccer are so popular here, why did Israel not send a soccer team and a basketball team to Beijing?
3. David, what are you talking about?
DJ Sac ,   TA   (08.15.08)
David, Are you serious? If you were to follow the world of sports you would realize it's a little difficult to be a icon in judo or shooting. BUT if Israel (or any other country) were to win a medal there would be plenty of national pride here in Israel (or in the other athletes respective country). But what do you expect the Israeli sports authorities to do? Launch an advertising and media promotion on the Israeli sailors? You sound like you don't know much about sports and you are raising questions that others might interpret as being educated. The fact about the Israeli basketball and football team is that they didn't qualify for the Beijing games. Unfortunatly they aren't good enough. You can't just send a team to the Olympics is you feel like competing. You have to qualify. That being said, I wish Israel athletics the best. I believe the basketball team can qualify for the next European championships. And I will be supporting the hoping that the football team can qualify for the World Cup 2010.
4. olympics

at the rate we are going i think it is a waste of money sending so many people to the olympics. we really have a few good people out there. this shahar peer is mentally unstable. friedman is not far behind her. what did they prepare for????????? who paid for all these travels etc?????????it's a disgrace. our committee has to review it's policy of those that are allowed to be sent to represent us.
