1. May them find all they wish in Israel...
Keren ,   Israel-SP   (08.18.08)
But it is so sad the picture of that old woman...extremely sad.May she find a swift protection. Hopefully soon, humanity will be freed of such madness.
2. new immigrants
sas ,   israel   (08.18.08)
these people only come here when times are bad. i have no problem helpng them but if they leave within a certain period of time they have to return everything that the country gave them - loans etc. the government certainly does not help the poor Israeli that is living here for years. They also have neglected the Ethiopians. We live in a cruel country with poor leadership.
3. HAHAH Just like what you did to the first homeland hahah
Salameh ,   Gaza, Palestine   (08.18.08)
pathetic
4. #3. I guess occupation doesn't exist except in "Palestine"

(08.18.08)
6. Another desperate zionist move
Khalid ,   The Netherlands   (08.19.08)
Just another desperate zionist attempt to delay the inevitable: the explosion of the so-called ticking demographic bomb. Those people were not persecuted in Georgia per se have no other than very minor interest in Judaism and the real objective is an attempt by the Israeli leadreship to reassure the Israeli public that those ''barbarian' Palestinians cannot win the numbers battle at the time when that same corrupt leadership knows very that the oppsite is true. So what is the next move, trying to find some 'zionist defined' Jewish roots within certain groups of the Palestinian people? In this way this zionist leadership is doing nothing other than sinking itself deeper and deeper in shame
7. NO! Your home is GEORGIA
Jewish CANADIAN ,   Toronto   (08.19.08)
You flee your homeland at the first sign of trouble? You are traitors and cowards!!
8. # 7 Your family fled to Canada
(08.19.08)
but everyone else should stay put. It doesn't take any courage to live in Toronto either.
9. #6 When will you learn its the quality not the quantity!
rachel ,   usa   (08.19.08)
10. There's Immigrants and migrants.....
EGW ,   vancouver canada   (08.19.08)
From the reported comebnts of the new Olim, it seems that they came on "Aliya" not because of convictionm or a desire to be with fellow Jews, but "because there's nothing left there anyhow" and other very revealing statements. I wonder how long it'll be before they move further afield, say to the U.S. Of course it doesn't matter, they'll make as good citizens as the rest of the former Soviets. And their chil;dren will be completely assimilated into Israel society.
11. Khalid
Bill ,   US   (08.19.08)
"So what is the next move, trying to find some 'zionist defined' Jewish roots within certain groups of the Palestinian people? " No. Nobody seeks to import a brain drain into their country. Except the Dutch apparently.
12. PATRIOT
Jewiush CANADIAN ,   Toronto   (08.19.08)
I am a 4th generation Canadian(longer than almost all Israeli Jews).I woulde defend my homeland at all costs.ANY Jew with a primary allegiance to a foreign nation(i.e. Israel) should forego the safety and riches of his "galut" and move there. Otherwise he is a" traitor,a hypocrite and a scum. I am a CANADIAN first. And DAMN PROUD!!
13. to #5
Susan ,   Kfar Saba   (08.19.08)
I don't know these people, but they both are probably Jewish. During the Soviiet period, religious life in Georgia was more open. Everyone went to shul, kept kosher. "Grusinim" look down on Russians because they intermarry and don't know anything about Judaism. They don't want their kids to marry Russian Jews.
14. #12
Jared ,   New York, USA   (08.19.08)
You are completely right. Anyone-- Arabs, Jews, Italians, Mexicans, whatever-- living in a country to which he owes allegiance but offers none, is a vile traitor and should be deported. ...But seriously, Canada?! Isn't that where Israelis go when America won't take them? :) Just kidding.
15. To Jewish Canadian
Dovid ,   Poleg   (08.19.08)
Your logic is simplistic nonsense. The fact you feel such loyalty to Canada is wonderful, good luck to you! However your logic is offensive nationalism. Do you feel the non-Jewish 25% of Israelis who feel no alleigance to Israel and do not serve in national service are 'traitors, hypocrites and scum who should leave' as you quote or does your extremism only apply to Jews? People live in different countries for a variety of reasons.
16. Good luck to the new olim
Cynthia ,   USA   (08.19.08)
Whether Israel is a permanent or short-term haven is up to you and your family.
17. # 12
Bill ,   US   (08.19.08)
But these Georgians aren't leaving a rich and safe country like Canada. Trust me, if Canada wasn't rich and safe (meaning bordering America) you would leave and I would doubt Canada would miss your non-service to their country.
18. TO THE JEWISH 'CANADIAN': YOU'RE THE TRAITOR
SETTHERECORDSTRAIGHT   (08.19.08)
IN 1930's GERMANY, YOUR TYPE WAS THE FIRST IN LINE AT THE TRAINS. YOU MAY BELIEVE THAT CANADA IS YOUR COUNTRY, BUT TRUST ME, IF YOU ARE A JEW, IT IS NOT. THE ONLY COUNTRY THAT IS YOURS IS ISRAEL, LIKE IT OR NOT. YOUR RHETORIC SOUNDS PATHETIC BY THE WAY.
19. Georgian emigrants/Khalid's comments
ernie ,   miami, usa   (08.19.08)
75 people does not a balancing act make. There is no reason to question the motives of any who desire to live free of bombings in their neighborhood, is there? I note you are in the Netherlands.
20. #12 first learn how to spell ..."jewish "
rachel ,   usa   (08.19.08)
then you can say you are canadian .hahahahaha
