31. The world seeks peace.
5PillarScribe ,   Minaret, US   (08.22.08)
My guess is that most of the non-Jewish and non-Muslim world reads this article and its intentions is to paint a picture that Palestinians are unreasonable and bloodthirsty. The UN considers what Israel has done so far to Jerusalem; and what it is doing to Palestine and the Palestinians as violations; and the general consensus of the world, including good Jews, Christians and Muslims wants peace, but not by occupation and abuse of power, but rather just peace.

American ,   melbourne, USA   (08.22.08)
It's nice to know that there are some real men over there and who are unwilling to to bend to this "so called" religion and the 7th century facist thugs who claim to be on the side of God. There are many who are on the side of freedom... Elect the leaders who will lead. Ignore the hand ringers. Crush evil wherever it rears its lying ugly head.

Very well said.. We wish that would be the case. Unfortuanatly Israel is pretty muched doomed. I believe it is now too late.. I try and bless and cheer for Israel, but it is really getting dificult. Your idiot leader has for the most part really screwed you guys. two thirds of you are probably going to die. Time is short.

"...My guess is that most of the non-Jewish and non-Muslim world reads this article and its intentions is to paint a picture that Palestinians are unreasonable and bloodthirsty..." Um, the LEADER of Hamas said this! He is REVERED by his people, the Palestinians! It's in the Hamas manifesto that Israel is to be DESTROYED! HAMAS HAS WRITTEN THAT ISRAEL WILL PERISH, THEY BELIVE THIS AND WANT TO FUFUILL IT. Hamas was DEMOCRATICALLY elected by their OWN people, its what the MAJORITY of Palestinians WANT, DEATH TO ISRAEL! Yes, these people are perfectly capable of peacefull negotiations......NOT! The "West" better wake up! We are being out-smarted, out-toughed, and out-bred by these throwbacks in dirty nightshirts with dirty beards called Palestinians, and the Islamic-Nazi militants of their ilk. Israel is the canary in the coal mine. When Israel falls, so does the West. The idiotic Liberals/Progressives of the West will be the death of us all! WAKE UP ISRAEL, WAKE UP WEST! At the rate we're going, we are on track to LOSE this battle of civilizations!

40. #31 - 5PillarScribe, History did not begin in 1948...
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (08.22.08)
History did not begin in 1948 and Palestine itself is a term steeped in "occupation". Palestine is what the Romans called this land after ethnically cleansing the indigenous inhabitants (the Jews) from their ancestral homeland (Judea). For 1400 years, Arabs have occupied our homeland and our Qiblah. For over 900 years, they have occupied our Kaaba. How would you feel if we Jews destroyed Mecca, built a Synagogue over the Kaaba, and called said synagogue "the third holiest site in Judaism"? Wouldn't this blatant act of hatred cause your blood to boil? Yet, this is the situation Muslims ask us to live with every single day. The general consensus of the world, now as yesterday, is not asking for peace- it is asking for appeasement. It refuses to recognize that Palestine is not "under occupation" but is, itself, occupation. Quick question to you- how many times is "Falasteen" mentioned in the Qur'an and how many times is "Isra'il" mentioned in the Qur'an? How many times does the Qur'an refer to Jerusalem as the Jewish Qiblah and Mecca as the Muslim Qiblah. Knowing what the Qur'an itself acknowledges regarding Jerusalem and its role to the Jewish people, how can you continue the occupation called Palestine?
41. "blood, shahids and resistance"
Cynthia ,   USA   (08.22.08)
That's all this failed excuse for a Hamas leader knows. He offers no hope, just more bloodshed. He'll sacrifice the lives of others for a paycheck.
42. We are suffering from mistakes we made in past

43. al-masjid al-aqsa had nothing to do with Jerusalem, but...
Robert Bernier   (08.22.08)
al-masjid al-aqsa had nothing to do with Jerusalem, but was in fact the mosque in Madina. Politics, not religious sensibility, has fueled the Muslim attachment to Jerusalem for nearly fourteen centuries; what the historian Bernard Wasserstein has written about the growth of Muslim feeling in the course of the Countercrusade applies through the centuries: “often in the history of Jerusalem, heightened religious fervour may be explained in large part by political necessity.” This pattern has three main implications. First, Jerusalem will never be more than a secondary city for Muslims; “belief in the sanctity of Jerusalem,” Sivan rightly concludes, “cannot be said to have been widely diffused nor deeply rooted in Islam.” Second, the Muslim interest lies not so much in controlling Jerusalem as it does in denying control over the city to anyone else. Third, the Islamic connection to the city is weaker than the Jewish one because it arises as much from transitory and mundane considerations as from the immutable claims of faith. ROLAND SEENER ,   LONDON ENGLAND   (08.22.08)
45. Make Hamas Surrender
Dave Levy ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (08.22.08)
Like Bush and Condi, Olmert and Livni will be but memories soon. It's time for Israel to take this problem where it belongs, out of it's reactive behavior to proactive. It MUST be clear now to every Jew what exactly are the Arab goals. W/O Hamas and Hezballah on board, all the talk with Fatah is meaningless. W/O Syria AND Iran, there can be no peace. So what is Israel to do? For starters close the borders, seal them tight., no fuel, food or medicine to the Strip. Leverage Fatah against Hamas. Start striking Hamas's arsenals, military and strong points. Take the conflict to them..no pinpricks. Show no mercy. If Hez intervenes..make So. Lebanon into a sheet of glass. Sooner or later Israel will have to act aggressively. Make Hamas surrender, no more hudnas.

Kash ,   San Diego USA   (08.22.08)
I say blow the Islamo Faciests all to hell and let God sort them out. Get 'em Israel. God is on your side.
49. HAMAS retrieving Jerusalem
Frank Castle ,   Reno USA   (08.22.08)
Let's all agree that HAMAS may "retrieve" Jerusalem, or as I like to say "re-steal" Jerusalem once they agree to A) Renounce violence B) Respect women & other religions/beliefs as equals and C) Use the near endless charity the West has provided them for food, medicine and building infratructure over buying more munitions and parading w/ their war-toys and calling for blood & death of "infidels"
50. Haniyeh and disputed territories
jennifer ,   Mumbai, India   (09.10.08)
Yes. I agree with you. No more sops from Israel for these murderers.
