The current US regime armed, trained and advised the Georgian troops who brutally attacked South Ossetia and Russian peacekeepers, so they are now in no position to make demands or point fingers at anyone. I presume that Russian peacekeepers will need to continue to maintain the buffer zone at least until the current US regime is out of office, and then will re-evaluate the situation and make decisions on removing them based upon the policies of the new US administration. GW Bush can make demands till his head turns blue, but Russia's leaders will continue make their decisions based upon what is in the national security interest of our country and to protect the interests of our citizens.
