Good on you, Barack. I was a staunch supporter of Biden from the start and any misgivings I had about Obama are now gone. Mazel Tov!
2. vice president candidate
fcd ,   israel   (08.23.08)
let's wait a few days and we will hear all the scandels he was involved in...........
3. Biden is an Iran appeaser.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (08.23.08)
Mr Biden's position on Iran is one of appeasement. He is adamently opposed to military action against Iran. He is a major supporter of "dialogue" with Iran. An Obama/Biden presidency will do nothing to stop Iran & everything to stop us.
4. Good, this is GREAT news for McCain.

5. Senator Joe Biden is very wealthy and has wanted to be
Rivkah   (08.23.08)
US President for a long time, but his efforts were frustrated by allegations of cheating scandals. Well, the democrats now have a college illegal drug user and a college cheater for a team. I guess people like me who have never used illegal drugs or cheated on tests in college are as rare as the gold of Ophir. I feel soooo superior.
6. Would be better if Joe Biden was the candidate
redmike ,   Tel Aviv   (08.23.08)
and Obama the running mate! Many Americans will not say that they won't vote for a black president but they won't and if he makes it to the White House he will most likely be assassinated shortly afterwards. America is faced with a terrible choice. Two poor candidates, and this after Bush and Condo lost the USs influence, led it to stare bankruptcy in in the face and will leave the world a more dangerous place. Mike
7. 6- False: 'It's racism'. True: Obama lacks substance
Noa ,   Tel Aviv   (08.23.08)
The reason that Biden would be better than Obama is that he has more experience and more consistency along a far longer voting record (as does McCain, btw). Obama is sorely lacking in substance and experience, not to mention integrity. In his few years in the Illinois Senate: 1) Obama, despite his call for integrity, supported corrupt mayor Richard Daley's campaign, as well as corrupt alderman Dorothy Tillman. 2) Despite his fans representing him as being the 'real' and/or 'actually left' candidate, Obama preferred to vote 'present' on some 130 votes in the Illinois Senate. Out of about 140. No reason to do this unless you want to avoid controversy by avoiding actually expressing an opinion of any kind. In his two seconds in the US Senate: 1) Despite calling for bipartisanship, Obama has generally voted against bipartisan bills. 2) Specifically, he voted for massive amendments in the immigration bill that would favor the exact interests of labor unions (who are strong in his home state of llinois). This despite his alleged platform of reducing the interests of lobbyists in Washington. 3) Despite championing campaign finance reform, he decided to turn down public campaign financing (once he realized that he was getting massive private funds, far more than McCain) I could go on all day but I don't have the time. (For those interested, I recommend Charles Krauthammer's op-ed pieces in the Washington Post. Obama's given him enough fodder for at least eight op-eds in the past half year.) And this is just my criticism without even going into Obama's largely unrevealed personal agenda. In this capacity, his friendship with Rashid Kalidi is a little worrying, just to name one. If Obama doesn't get elected, it won't be the race issue, it will be the substance issue. Obama's supporters, many of whom are knee-jerk anti-Republicans, recognize this lack of substance and experience. Hence, the focus of his campaign on race and charisma. They're hoping that most people will get swept up by the messianic fervor generated at the rallies (NYTimes corrrespondent Chris Matthews: 'I felt a thrill up my leg') For the rest, they hope to convince people that if they dislike Obama it can't possibly be because of a legitimate reason (such as the man's implied positions or his avoidance of positions or his lack of experience and/or candor) but rather that they dislike him because they are racist deep-down. (A notable example of this tactic: The adoption of 'Hussein' by Obama fans en masse.) What rubbish. In a tactic of cheap demogoguery, based on the inherent desire of most Americans to feel that they are champions of opportunity and tolerance, they're trying to guilt Americans into voting for the black man. If anything, race is Obama's ticket in, not, as you claim, his ticket out.

9. The difference betwen feedbacks here and Haaretz is amazing!
redmike ,   Tel Aviv   (08.23.08)
Sadly, the US has a choice between two very mediocre candidates and neither of them will be able to correct America's financial decline or regain its influence. China is moving into first place and Russia will be rich for the next 30 years. The Roman Empire was the longest and others got shorter and shorter. The British Empire was the biggest (before the American one) and it lasted approx 500 years. I am not an historian and the above is open to correction but we can only be sure of change. By 'American Empire' I don't mean military conquest but financial. Mike
10. #5 ..You are ignorant..
Sal ,   USA   (08.23.08)
Joe is the poorest Senator. His networth is negative $300,000. Check your facts before you make false declarations. Pathetic!
11. Double whammy for Obama!
Maurice ,   Montreal   (08.23.08)
Two factors that will cause Obama lose the election in November: The first one has nothing to do with Hillary but everything to do with the fact that according to many polls at least 10% of the Americans are not ready to vote for a black man no matter who is in his ticket. The second one has everything to do with Hillary. There is a good percenatge of the Americans that are angry that Hillary lost the primaries. They even think that the primaries' victory was stolen from her. These people might have voted for Obama had he chosen Hillary. Now Obama may expect the worst. Not choosing Hillary is the greatest mistake of his life.
12. Lawsuit was just launched to challenge his US citizenship
Howard   (08.23.08)
Philip J. Berg, former Deputy Attorney General of Pennsylvania; former Chair of the Democratic Party in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, filed a lawsuit in Federal Court and an Injunction that Obama does not meet the qualifications to be President of the United States. Berg filed this suit for the best interests of the Democratic Party and the citizens of the United States. Details at : Berg was interviewed last night on an all-night radio talk show. It seems this Democrat is trying to prevent the Republicans from challenging Obama's claim to US citizenship but after the convention, which would really throw the Democratic party into disarray. At least now they can select Clinton.
13. Biden's offensive comments
Mark ,   Boston   (08.23.08)
“I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.” - Joe Biden ""I've had a great relationship [with East Indians in America]. In Delaware, the largest growth in population is Indian Americans - moving from India. You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I'm not joking." -- Joe Biden, speaking to Indian-Americans
14. Biden involved in the 9/11 attack.
Mark ,   Boston   (08.23.08)
Presidential candidate Senator Joe Biden admitted meeting with the chief financier of the 9/11 hijackers in the days after September 11 after being confronted by We Are Change founder Luke Rudkowski in the press room following Sunday's Democratic debate in New Hampshire. This makes one think 9/11 was an Inside Job.

17. Mr. Biden: Explain your actions
Mark ,   Boston   (08.23.08)
Two days after the attack on the twin towers and the Pentagon, on September 13th, Senator Joseph Biden, Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, met with the ISI chief. No adequate explanation has been forthcoming as to why top government and intelligence officials were meeting with the money man behind the alleged hijackers before and after 9/11.

Thank you, Irmo. Maybe YNET would print an answer to previous questions from bees article tb's. Are you going to visit in September? love ya. R.
19. 14 Mark: Read the book "Unrestricted Warfare" which was
Rivkah   (08.23.08)
written by two Red Chinese Colonels in the 1990's and outlines Red China's war plans against America. The late Admiral Thomas Moorer and USMC retied General John Singlaub toured America years ago warning people about the dangers of Red China to America. The Red Chinese war plans against America start with planes hitting the WTC towers piloted by Muslim pilots trained by the Red Chinese. The attack on the WTC towers was so well publicized BEFORE it happened, that Muslim calendars for September 2001 that were printed the year before showed the WTC towers blowing up, as did the cover of a rock group's album. The second phase of Red China's war plans against America is to hack into computer systems to create havoc. The third phase is to collapse the US economy. The fourth phase is nuclear war against America. Russian PM Putin recently went to the EU leaders and told them that Russia and Red China are about to attack America and to stay out of it or get hit, too. It would be almost impossible for Senator Biden and many, many others NOT to know the WTC towers were going to be attacked. The FBI and CIA knew it was coming when they published a terrorism manual many years before the attack with the WTC towers exploding on the cover picture. After the first attack, there was no doubt that symbol of the West would be attacked again at some point. When the Muslims make a decree which was done against the WTC towers, it may take a decade or a hundred years to happen: but the fatwa does not change as a general rule.
