1. 1000 rockets into Sderot just since January of this year
USA   (08.24.08)
and you interpret that as 'yearning for peace'?
2. Dear Ynet
Seth Levy ,   Israel   (08.24.08)
Please stop calling this man an Israeli. He has committed one of the worst crimes a citizen of a country can commit. He has given aid to an enemy nation. He has committed treason and must be put on trial once he steps foot back on Israeli soil.
3. What a waste of resources!
Peace lover   (08.24.08)
This whole effort is just another ego-trip for Westerners and ISM provocateurs. I hope they suffered serious mal de mer. They would be doing a really worthwhile thing to stay home and help their OWN people, the homeless on the streets of their cities, the disabled, the social misfits and the genuine poor. The Gazans have largely brought their troubles on themselves. A violent society which continues to brainwash its young with the same values, international beggars when they could have developed like other land-poor small countries and become a proud community. And even more damaging, their self-destructive policy of maximum population growth, a massive problem in nearby Egypt, from which they have learned nothing.
4. Why interview this traitor ?
Love Justice & Israe ,   Israel   (08.24.08)
Why is Ynet helping to give him & his anti-Israeli group the press they seek ? This idiot only feels the suffering of those who wish to destroy Israel. SHould he be such a moral man he would seek to help those who suffer in Sderot first SHAME ON YNET !
5. Sinister motives
Smooth Stone   (08.24.08)
Jeff Halper is a pathetic fringe Israeli who accompanies Naim Ateek, the leader of the radical Palestinian group known as Sabeel, at conferences promoting a one-state solution and boycotts; in other words, the total elimination of Israel. That Jeff Halper would spend his adult life exploiting the rhetoric of palestinian human rights while ignoring Israeli human rights to promote his particular and discriminatory agenda is just further proof of the degradation of his moral compass. 6. Halper the blind man
JPS ,   Efrat   (08.24.08)
Notice he had absolutely nothing to say about why the blockade is in place. Uh, Earth calling Jeff Halper! Earth calling Jeff Halper? Kassam missiles = human rights violation + war crimes. Think we'll ever see Halper in Sderot telling the citizens there how empowered he is acting against "injustice"? Not in our lifetime.
7. He is NOT the only Israeli who took part in the peace sail
observer   (08.24.08)
“We recognize that we’re two, humble boats, but what we’ve accomplished is to show that average people from around the world can mobilize to create change. We do not have to stay silent in the face of injustice. Reaching Gaza today, there is such a sense of hope, and hope is what mobilizes people everywhere.” --Huwaida Arraf. Huwaida is Palestinian-American, and also a citizen of Israel. She’s a human rights activist and co-founder of the International Solidarity Movement. In 2007 she received her Juris Doctor from American University in Washington D.C. Currently she teaches Human Rights and Humanitarian Law at Al Quds University in Jerusalem. Huwaida sailed to Gaza aboard the SS Liberty. Hedy Epstein, holocaust survivor, was scheduled also but she could not make it for health problem.
8. But you didn't make a point
Bill ,   US   (08.24.08)
you spent a nice summer day cruising around the Mediterranean to show how much you care. It was about you. If you really cared you would have brought at least enough supplies to constitute a symbolic gesture. You brought people expecting food and medicine, balloons - festivity decorations. What not go to Darfur and hand out party hats and noise makers. Although, judging from Jeff's picture above, they might have brought food and he ate it . You might have struck a nerve if you didn't make a joke of yourselves.
9. More Rockets in Beijing !!!
Peter Morris ,   New Zealand   (08.24.08)
Just like the sky rockets and fireworks at the Olympics the rockets into Sderot are a statement and in this case a protest. If one can't understand why then perhaps a trip around Gaza would help the education process.
10. Gaza Trip
mark ,   israel   (08.24.08)
#3 says it all
11. The Professor Is Misguided
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (08.24.08)
If you don't like the way our Government is doing things - like most of us - work within the system, work here at home - to affect change. However, publicly siding with our enemies is very wrong.
12. useful idiots
Charles   (08.24.08)
13. Good Man
Ahmad ,   Gaza   (08.24.08)
Wish most Israelis are like him
14. In but not out?
Kim ,   NYC   (08.24.08)
Just because Israel allowed them in does not mean Israel will let them out by boat nor does it mean Israel will allow them into Israel (especially with no visa stamps) so they may have gotten themselves stuck. I hope Israel keeps them in gaza for a very long time since that is where they want to be
15. #3
(08.24.08)
"..Do not steal from the poor, for they are oppressed, nor should you oppress the downtrodden.."
16. OK for them to fire rockets at innocent Jews
Liliane ,   Brighton, UK   (08.24.08)
Nothing wrong in terrorising Jews with thousands of rockets. These people are completely blind and daft.
17. ............
naji ,   .........   (08.24.08)
sometimes you can not do any thing but to say ... iam sorry .... or thank you .... and to this profosor many say iam sorry but i say thank you ..... the most important point is that the seig do not weakened the people but empowered them inside the strip .. this is to be in seeking justice
18. To No. 14
(08.24.08)
They are more than welcome in Gaza - In fact, we Gazans wish that they stay for as long as they can to wittness every thing good and bad IDF violations and Palestinian violations and send it out to the whole world to judge who is violating the truce between Istrael and Hamas. But let me ask you a question, why do you wish that hey stuck in Gaza? what did gaza and gazans do to you? aren't we human being want and fight for our rights to live free like all nations - why do people like you and we have some like you in our society also do not want to live in peace. The State of Israel is a fact that exist on land and so the Palestinians in Gaza, the West bank and other places inside Israel. Lets live in peace Kim, and forget about disremenations and hat. We want our new generatios to love each others and to live in peace near each others. Iam sure that not all palestinians agrees to what I say but the majority do and the same in your side - please be active Kim after all we are all human beings that desirve a clean atmosphere to live in away from war and battels. May God bless you Peace

Mo ,   The Solar System   (08.24.08)
22. Halper's EU funders...
judyinjerusalem ,   jerusalem, israel   (08.24.08)
Where did the traitor Halper get the fudns for his little Mediterranean PR caper?? His organization gets megabucks from the EU and various European governments. Where are the investigative journalists to sniff out how these countries are supporting such fringe elements who represent no one but their own egos.
23. Israel didn't allow it, but couldn't stop them
observer   (08.24.08)
24. Peace activists sail to Gaza
Ger ,   Raanana, Israel`   (08.24.08)
Halper says their action "hit a nerve". Meanwhile, a couple of Kassams fired from Gaza hit Israel (but Halper has nothing to say about tha).
25. Ship of Fools
Lou ,   Tel Aviv   (08.24.08)
This idiot Helper is a nut, he should not be allowed back in Israel. Who needs enemies, if we have Jews and Israelis like him.
26. A rational solution.
Robert Bernier   (08.24.08)
If the billions the world is committed to pay the Palestinians went not only to the Palestinian families to help them with relocating, but also to any Arab nation willing to take them in, to help them absorb the Palestinians, then there is some chance for such proposal gaining traction and for the Arab world to start letting go off their dream of a Judenrein Middle East. A new solution might be conceived of with Israel taking over Gaza and the West Bank for itself and the Palestinians making an exodus from the land and being absorbed by other nations. Such solution would be one that would be bought and paid for from the annual billions of dollars in welfare the world now throws at Palestinians, in favor of Palestinians and those nations prepared to absorb them as citizens. 27. Idiots + Idiots = ?
Arthur ,   SF, CA   (08.24.08)
One group of idiots expect 2 small fishing boats to bring enough food for all of them... Other group of idiots expects a worldwide attention.... Keep'em in Azza - don't let them out
28. Prof. Jeff Halper
Galut ,   Selah   (08.24.08)
Professor - it does not take a degree to know what the solution is to All these restrictions....Simply stop the terrorism and the qassams and work to live peacefully with israel and israel will recipricate.... maybe a stint in the school of common sense would be in order...
29. CAN HE WALK AROUND GAZA?
Sammy Levi ,   Ashdod Israel   (08.24.08)
Let's have the whole truth. How welcome will the Gazans make an Israeli walking around the streets? Will some brainwashed child blow his brains out if he finds out that he is an Israeli? Let us know the truth in the next episode.
