1. Let's hope that we get to say goodbye to Tamir when Olmert
redmike ,   Tel Aviv   (08.27.08)
leaves. She was a disaster from day one and continues to be. Livni too. Folds and cowers under the lightest pressure. Condo will be gone soon as well, but the damage that she did to world peace may take years to repair, if it can be done. I am not against women in politics but the above three have a natural connection. All are a disaster and all need to be got rid of asap. Of course I want to see Olmert and Hirchson share the same cell and I want Barak to disappear too - and the list goes on. But at least we are house cleaning and getting rid of the dross. Mike
2. School Strike
Millicent ,   Israel   (08.27.08)
Bring it on! My kids don't learn anything in school here anyway. My daughter has had her share of incompetant teachers especially in Science, and English. My kids learn more from watching the Science and History channels than they do in school! Perhaps if we inniated schools on line here, we could elimiate the incompetant teachers, hire only the best to teach our kids on line, maybe then they will learn something! The schools here have always been thrid rate and will always be third rate until you pay better and hire better teachers!
3. Histadrut needs its powers slashed
zionist forever   (08.27.08)
The Histadrut need to have their powers slashed the way Thatcher did to the British unions in the 80's Back then they could bring the country to a standstill everytime they decided to strike. Israels Histardrut has to much power, the can and do reguarly bring the country to a standstill costing the country millions daily. Last year they closed to schools down for 2 months which is totaly unacceptable if it had been the US those kids would have been back at school within 1 week. Now they are threatening to not even open the schools because they didnt get enough money in the budget. Its the job of the cabinet to decide on who gets how much money and everybody is allways left thinking they deserve more. Its not the job of the Hstadrut to strike because of how much money has been alocated to the education budget now its for the municiaplities to decide how to spend their share of the money. Israel was founded on communist / socialist ideas but not only did it never get right either the idea of being a socialist state or a capitalist one which is why we have the bad political system and an all powerfull Histadrut.
