1. Who said that they are forced ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.28.08)
Galatz serve the general public with their road information , so it's a necessary job that they do , even maybe life saving .
2. Insanity...
Noam ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (08.28.08)
The more I live in this country the more I think it becomes insane...Its foundations are not undermined by the ''hilonim'' but by the short and middle age minded religious people (not all of them off course). Really, as if they were listening to this radio...that is so pathetic...
3. what hypocrites
Avi ,   Ramat Gan   (08.28.08)
First of all the Army Radio is for the people of Israel, and the majority of Israelis are non religious, any religious person dose`nt listen to the radio on Shabbat in the first place. The soldiers are in the army anyway on Shabbat like any other day of the week carrying our their duties. They are also "forced" to guard the settlements should we ban this to? Its the same old pathetic excuse that they care for the soldiers well being, which is a laugh, so why do`nt they draft the ultra orthodox to the army and reduce the time others have to serve if they are so concerned about their well being. This is just another excuse for them to shove their religious life style on the majority, have they actually asked those soldiers who work on the radio station,? have they actually listened to their point of view and their so called suffering. No they haven't as its just a pack of lies and they know it.
4. Thank God I'm secular!

5. Galei Zahal is an anachronism
Ilan ,   Ariel   (08.28.08)
The station's importance to the military is so minimal that it's continued existence is only a drain of resources. There are enough radio stations that either it should be privatized or shut down.
6. Religious hypocrisy
Ben ,   Monroe, USA   (08.28.08)
The only desire by those "religious" is to turn Israel into a theocracy. A most sad commentary on what they want Judaism to become.

Dani ,   Tel Aviv   (08.28.08)
And that's wrong too.
9. God will no doubt
Sagi ,   Israel   (08.28.08)
rain down his thunder upon the desecrators and they shall not know peace until the end of time which is nigh. Oh thee sinners repent now and have redemption or forever shalt thine souls burn with remorse.
10. How sad real Jews are treated by almost Jews.

robert goldman ,   kfar saba Israel   (08.29.08)
Army Radio is one thing religon should have no control. it's the Army and slodiers run it so leave it that way..
15. Great Idea!
shrinkDave ,   Miami USA   (08.30.08)
A solution to end this dilemma might be to allow God to decide! Let's ask God if it should be allowed to do radio broadcasts on Shabbat! The station could broadcast the question to God, and God could even be allowed to broadcast God's opinion on the radio station! If God has no opionion, God could decide either not to bother answering, or God could broadcast that God has no opinion. Why didn't I think of this before?
