1. MK David rotem's motion
English person ,   London   (09.01.08)
Rotem calls for "the revocation of pension rights of any MK suspected of violating State Security" I presume that means all those MKs who support the settlement adventure - as that obviously violate's state security, plus all those MKs working themselves into a froth and gunning for an attack on Iran, on Lebanon, on Syria - as all those actions violate state security. Then we have those MKs who support the Israeli soldiers who shoot blindfolded and handcuffed Palestinians, plus the MKs who agree to send tanks into Gaza and the West Bank on a regular basis - all actions which could cause violations of state security. So, really only the Meretz MKs will be entitled to a pension. The rest will be going around with their schnorrer bowls. Oops - so what's new?
2. #1 Do you have a job?

You seem to have a lot of time on your hands to try to rile people up and bash Israel with talkbacks on every article. Is this only your hobby or is it your full time job?

Frank ,   Canada   (09.01.08)
These judges are ennemies of Israel and must be dismissed.
9. It's simply a technical matter
David G.   (09.01.08)
The high court is simply following the regular procedure. The can't revoke his pension and citizenship, as "no charges were ever filed against him"!!! Why no charges yet? Once there are charges, then the process of revoking citizenship, pension and so on can begin!!
10. f course. Don't want precedent.
Adam Eliyahu Berkowi   (09.01.08)
If an evil politician gets his pension yanked, can you imagine what kind of precedent that will set? Olmert, Peres, most of the supreme court justices, 80% of kadima, all left to live off their overseas bank accounts. On the simple level, this makes me sick. A man accused of espionage still gets a pension. What is the justification? Left wing politics makes me puke.
11. stupid and immoral decision. (end)

12. #2 and jobs
English person ,   London   (09.01.08)
Do you only ask people whose opinions you disagree with whether they have a job? Or do you ask those far-right knee-jerk racist Zionofascists whether they work too? At least I have a moniker, which is more than you do. To respond to your question - about 35 years ago, many people were trying to convince me to take up Israeli citizenship and to work for the future of the Zionist enterprise. However, my first trip, as a bilingual teenager opened my eyes to the crimes committed against the non-Jewish inhabitants of the country - swathes of destroyed villages, rampant and vulgar racist talk against "the Arabs" - and not a sign that the "rebirth" of Israel had made the world a better or safer place for anyone at all. Now - as a citizen of the world, it is my priviledge to be able to read what a like, and to write what I wish. If you have a problem with that, I suggest you don't read my posts or that you respond to them with opinions or facts or anything that is not just a foul stinking racist rant.

English person has a job. His job is to turn hospital beds towards Mecca five times a day so British Muslims can pray. In between he seems to be free to post rubbish on Ynet.
14. bishara's pensioin
alexi   (09.01.08)
The supreme court is doing as it should on bishara's pension. They cannot go outside of legal precedent. Instead, the mossad should put a bullet in bishara's head.Uner neville olmert, the mossad has become a weak knead group and israel's deterrence has been smashed, totally at this point. However, as to gaza,t he idf has to decapitate it and not have the supreme court dictate strategy. Beyond the law, its common understanding that lawyers are one of the most cowardly groups when it comes to defending the country. If you want vivid proof of that, look at olmert, who did not do combat duty because of some so called injury liek a scratch , his 2 sons evade idf or reserve duty. And now, olmert says give back jerusalem because of 2 tractor incidents.Olmert would give back all of israel to abbas if the extortion threat were great enough.Olmert has no ability, none whatsoever, of saying No, no to concessions, no to surrender. if he was around in world war ll, there would not be one jew left today.
15. Bishara is Jesus like figure for the Palestinians
Yaakov Sullivan ,   NYC   (09.01.08)
and all freedom seekers from the big see to the far ocean and all over the world. Bishara is an honest intellectual force in the sea of small people who try to make a change in the cup of tea. In his short life he became a symbol of incredible intelligence and being a hero, helped to develop Islamic culture. This intellectual is in the same line of Jesus, Gideon Levy, Chomsky and even A. B. Yehoshua.

Obviously you had some "bad" experience in the past, but how about trying to live for a while in Gaza, or Syria, or Lebanon ? and try to see for yourself how tolerant, liberal and human kind loving are the "Enterprises" of those countries...

19. response to your post
American Person ,   Tel Aviv   (09.01.08)
Can't comment about your experience 35 yrs ago. But I am in Tel Aviv now, as a bilingual person. What strikes me immediately is that Arabs wonder through the streets of Tel Aviv, women with their head coverings and traditional clothes. They speak Arabic to each other and generally walk around, take public transportation without difficulty. How about trying an experiment: 1. put on traditional Islamic religious garb and walk through Tel Aviv. then 2. put on traditional Jewish religious garb and walk through Ramalah. Then tell us who is the aggressor. Suggestion: do #1 before #2 since the reverse order will endanger the experiment. Please come back and report.
20. REVOKING CITIZENSHIP ?
Arik Silverman ,   Miliwaukee USA   (09.01.08)
Let me remind Israelis that many of them hold dual citizenship, US and Israel, only because a lower US court ruled that citizenship was a fundamental right and could not be revoked. This ruling was made when a man migrated to Israel and the US State Dept was going to revoke his citizenship according to normal procedure. He sued and won, though the issue was never pursued to a higher court.
21. #19 vs #1
Maurice ,   Montreal   (09.01.08)
American Person, your argument is excellent. It should be enough to shut English Person up if he has any decent unprejudiced logic at all!
22. Once again, English rot #1 forgets to mention that his
David ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (09.01.08)
country and by extension of his hatred of Israel and Jews, are responsible for a major part of the holocaust. How in good conscience, can he talk about Israel shooting someone's toe, when the Brits assisted the Germans by telling them how Jews were escaping Europe and by Handing them back to the Germans, when they did escape. Again, he and his country should be tried in the Haig for war crimes during WWll. Horrid antisemitic Brits!

24. Looks like we need judicial reform.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (09.01.08)
It's not bad enough we have a dysfunctional political system, but we evidently have a dysfunctional judicial system as well. The method by which judges are selected needs to be changed. This self-selecting, self-perpetuating clique of leftist jurists needs to be shaken up. A system in which judges must face confirmation hearings in the Knesset as in most countries needs to be established. Our elected politicians have abdicated all authority to the courts & some balance must be restored. I know enough about law to know that judges can always find a way to the ruling they ideologically prefer.
25. Become a traitor and collect your pension.

The Bagatz and the Elites are turning our nation into a Joke. Feiglin for PM
26. JUSTICE,JUSTICE YOU SHALL PURSUIT
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (09.01.08)
Now there many of us who know were this is written and the consequences when they fail to do so. For these jerks calling themselves judges, they are only interested in their political agenda and would not have a clue about justice. Over and over again their rulings are a travesty of justice and just show how corrupt and evil they are. This whole system has become a sad joke and it seems to implode more and more to a level of the absurd.

30. Bishara's Pension
Oskar Prager ,   Petach Tikva   (09.01.08)
It is truly amazing how out of touch the Supreme Court and ALL its Judges are with the Isreali Citizens. Letting a traitor such as Bishara continue to receive his pension and remain an Israeli Citizen shows that the Supreme Court lives in Chelm. It is no wonder that the majority of Israelis hold the Supreme Court and its Judges in utter contempt.
