Stop these protests and you won't get shot.
2. Crocodile tears from the professional terrorists
JPS ,   Efrat   (09.01.08)
Sorry, but I fail to see the argument coming from the Palestinians. They have spent the past 60 years being professional killers of unarmed civilians. Their human rights atrocities are well documented, from suicide bombings of public buses and restaurants, to sniper attacks against men, women and children, to public throat slittings to airplane hijackings to lynch mobs. The Palestinians are the ones who set the standard for international terrorism, yet they have the audacity to say Israelis should be tried for human rights abuses? Sure, I'll support Mustafa Barghouti the second he calls for his cousin Marwan, the convicted multiple murderer of unarmed Israeli civilians, to be put on trial in the Hague too. B'Tselem's problem is that it is just another racist organization that professes to be a "human rights" organization. Like the others, it only looks at one side of the equation and ignores the human rights violations carried out against Israelis.
3. Human Rights
Ricardo Macher ,   KarneiShomron Israel   (09.01.08)
Time has come to say "Enough"! Enough with this kind of anti Israeli info. Enough with these anti Israeli groups. Enough with all this "human rights violations watch" Ladies and gentleman, we are in war! War is not like a night in the ballet. Whoever does not understand that is simply stupid! More than that, it is funny, yesterday they denounced an attack on a 12 year and a pregnant woman, today a mentally ill with a blind daughter, Nobody, but nobody normal gets hurt! Is it because they are hiding or because this is all a bunch of professional liars?
4. CT scan: 2 bullets in head for questioning brother at 3 am
observer   (09.01.08)
maybe the soldiers thought that they were curing the brother's mental illness by putting a couple of bullets in his head. It's a disaster for Israel to a have a Hague's sponsored autopsy.
5. from the X-ray
observer   (09.01.08)
judged from size, those were metal-coated rubber than rubber-coated metal bullets
6. The Hague?
Brod ,   USA   (09.01.08)
Has the Hague become an Islamist-Jihadist institution?
7. Yeah!! let's go The Hague
Talula ,   Israel   (09.01.08)
And let's take all the people of Sderot and let them file a complaint against Hamas and their constant violation of International Law!!!!! Yes, lets!!
8. Really stupid article
Adam Eliyahu Berkowi   (09.01.08)
If the army comes in the middle of the night, they are usually coming to arrest a suspect. To stand in the doorway and yell at soldiers to "wait a minute" is sucidal. It sounds cruel , but in a hot operation, I can totally understand the soldiers actions. Is this going to set a precedent that now the IDF has to ask permission when arriving at a house to arrest a suspected terrorist? And contrary to the article, there is justification to shoot a bullet at the head of an unarmed man. If I am a soldier entering a house on such an operation, and someone ignores all warnings and runs at me, I assume that he is armed. That is why soldiers and police carry guns. And that is why the law requires civilians to listen to them. Before blaming the IDF on shooting rubber bullets, maybe the people of N'ilin and the left wing criminal that incite them should look at their own actions. It is clear they are breaking the law and endangering the soldiers and themselves. I think they are responsible. Soldiers and police are not to be held responsible for self defense when faced with criminally negligent violence.
9. Idiots: The ICC Has No Authority Over Us
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (09.01.08)
You Arab terrorists will not win- not on the battlefield and not in a court of law- especiallyone that we (and many other countries) don't recognize.
10. yes,please,do it!
Ivan ,   Haifa   (09.01.08)
PLEASE, THE ISRAELI COURT WON'T NEVER PUNISH THESE TERRORISTS, DESPITE THERE IS NOT ANY EXECUTIVE BODY TO ENSURE THE DECISION OF THE HAGUE I think palestinians must go.
11. #1 that solution with hurt Israel at the Hague,
observer   (09.01.08)
rather than solving little shooting problems.
12. two bullets in bother's head for questioning at 3 am
observer   (09.01.08)
the scout view of CT shown with article depicts meta-coated rubber bullet rather rubber-coated one; judged from the size. Hague's sponsored autopsy would be a disaster for Israel because it will expose how the soldiers tried to cure the brother's illness.
13. The pali gov(s) should be tried by ICC
Robert ,   USA   (09.01.08)
They have a hero who murdered a 4 year old, they bomb malls and buses... all for land that is not theirs and a people who never were. And it's not like the IDF strapped a bomb on this guy and made him commit suicide. That's what the palestinian governments do to their own people and why there is a wall. When are the Arabs going to stop lying, being used, and making outragious claims for their leaders selfish interests? The Hebrews have to move to one country, Arabs have 22! Muslims 57!
14. All of them are mentally ill, that's no excuse
DM ,   Amsterdam   (09.01.08)
To just do as you please.
15. observer
israeli ,   israel   (09.01.08)
I didn't know bullets were square.

Human   (09.01.08)
Very very sick!!!!
18. Have you no heart, people?
Ruben ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (09.01.08)
This kind of stuff makes me want to vomit. Any of you who is happy when people are getting shot and killed are sick. And it dont matter if they are jews or arabs. So vile, disgusting.
19. To Mustafa Barghouti
gabriela ben ari ,   Jerusalem   (09.01.08)
Do me a favor and ask that all you murderers of girls/women for honor kilings to get proved as well. After all these ladies were no doubt, not involved neither in terrorism nor posing a threat to anyone else
20. I you read other outlets, the story is DIFFERENT!
m ,   Toronto   (09.01.08)
The Arab tried to get the soldier's gun, and was screaming the usual Alla hu Akbar, mental or not the soldier did what he had to do. The whitewashing of this article is SICKENING! Who are you YNET, Hamas' Voice?
21. SRUR TRIED TO GRAB A SOLDIER'S GUN
Full report, please   (09.01.08)
Ynet doesn't report the resuls of the IDF inquiry in full. (For a more comprehensive article, refer to Jpost) Not only did the Palestinian try to grab the gun, but after the first rubber bullet, soldiers were pelted with stones and then fired the other rubber bullets. Also, the brother Aked wasn't merely 'active' in protesting the fence, he was also suspected of actively throwing a grenade at IDF troops, which is why they were at his house.
22. #15, and Observer's many replies
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (09.01.08)
That's because you're both not looking at the right part of the X-Ray. You're looking at obstructions in the X-Ray (appears to be metal plates reinforcing the skull, but doesn't look like they're part of a new operation - possibly a remnant of a previous one). What you should be looking at is the fracture caused to the skull, to the right of these obstructions. This wasn't a bullet penetration, but major fractures to around what appears to be a broken region - caused most likely by a small object hitting the area at very high velocity. To whit, a rubber-coated bullet, which is counts as a lethal weapon at the range discussed. The thing is, the shooting was entirely valid if even a third of the soldiers' version of events is correct. That Ayed was mentally unstable only corroborates their version of it, as his reaction to his brother's arrest seemed to range from odd to hysterical to violent, being entirely unpredictable all around. If he *did* make a grab at one of the soldiers' guns, the short-range fire from that very gun would result in what we see here - a man injured by point-blank gunfire from rubber-coated ammunition.
23. Fabrication
Great White North ,   Canada   (09.01.08)
How could the neighbor know whats going on in the house next door. The neighbors statements are fabrication.
24. Pallies dreams and nightmare
Septimus ,   Rome   (09.01.08)
Unfortunately for the Pallies the Hague court does not work in accordance with tehir dreams. The Hague court is teh emanation from the UN, and will do what teh world powers decide to do. So far for their ludicrous claims. By teh way, Israel could open claims against teh palestinians and against lebanon, Syrai and Iran , for terrorism, war crimes kidnapping etc.. this time with teh support of the US and other western allies.. This wills oon become a nightmare of these croonies. Perhaps is t also teh begining of the Ramadan thet make them so vociferous.. ? perhaps ..

28. Not "bullets" but "batons"
Wallace Edward Brand ,   Alexandria, VA USA   (09.01.08)
A "bullet" is something that comes out of the barrel of a gun. These are propelled from special devices placed in front of the gun barrel. They are referred to as "batons" and are used for crowd control by the police forces of many US cities when they wish to use non-lethal force.
