The "peace" activists have been trying to manufacture a controversy all along. Firstly Israel didn't halt them so they made up a story about their comms being "interfered with". Then they announced they would make this a regular occurrence - no reaction. They took Palestinians who had been denied exit visas out - no reaction. And now we are supposed to believe that after Israel let them in, let them do a photo op with Haniyah, let them take people out, let an Israeli who had gone come back into Israel that the SISTER IN LAW OF AN EX-PM cannot get out of Gaza at all? While you're absolutely correct that not everyone on these boats was British, I think part of the problem is that it seems there's an overwhelming amount of anti-Israeli sentiment coming out of the UK these days, whether it's the calls for academic and trade union boycotts, the rank bias of the BBC and The Guardian, and that unutterable nonsense about Israeli generals being tried as war criminals. Perhaps, it's because we expect better of the Brits that you're now seeing a lot of sentiment against them. That is the real qestion. Why would Egypt collaborate with the Israelis in maintaining the blockade of Gaza? I always find it strange that first, the Israeli supporters claim there is no blockade. Then they glorify the blockade by claiming that there is some sort of 'war' against the Gazans. Then they claim there is no occupation. Everyone, outside of the knee-jerk racists understand that this activity by Israel is collective punishment of a mostly defenceless civilian population, the only real question is the rationale behind Egyptian cooperation with this violation of the Geneva convetions and international law..
