1. Integration
Talula ,   Israel   (09.09.08)
'Integrating' is not the solution in the Middle East. Acceptance and tolerance are the key issues to a stable Middle East. Integration holds the risk of us losing our identity. And that's the one thing we need to keep. Hostile countries such as Iran and thugs such as Hezbollah and Hamas need to accept and understand that Israel is going to be around for many more thousands of years, as a Jewish State. Acceptance of that will change the face of the Middle East dramatically.

3. The Jews must first accept who they are
Matityahu ,   Slovenia   (09.09.08)
Accepting our identity is of utter importance. One thing is political and economic philosophy that Israel has embraced, but there's a limit to it and this is where our roots come into perspective. I can accept western values to the point where they collide with jewish ethics. There's a limit to everything and that goes also for integration.

7. Intergration...a leftist peace group dream
Jayyy ,   Israel   (09.09.08)
But reality is that the Arabs dont want integration, and theis poll proves that. Most want Israel destroyed and the Jews gone. Why are most of these peace groups that conduct these polls, run by leftist fools? If they truly wanted to create peace, they would be trying to change the Arab mindset instead of demonizing and blaming Israel.
8. To number 1
Palestinian   (09.09.08)
There has never been a state like that for thousands of years before, and never there will be for sure. You are immigrants who stole this land from its original people. If your mindset does not allow you to understand this basic and simple fact, then you will never be able to get out of the box you are pushing yourself in.
9. 95 Million Arabs are Illiterate
Thomas   (09.09.08)
http://www.ansamed.info/en/news/ME09.@AM16472.html That's about 1/3 of the people. And what's the excuse for this? They are the richest people on the planet so this problem is a reflection of their values as a people.
10. #8, your history is incorrect, thats why there is no peace.
David ,   Boston, USA   (09.09.08)
FOr 2,500 years we have prayed to Jerusalem, the undivided capital of Israel. Just because Arabs are the latest occupiers of the Temple Mount, you are not the native population. Accept historical facts. Its all around you that Jews were there before Arabs. Muslims tend to build on other peoples land all over the world, over Jewish, Christian, Hindu, and other religious holy sites which are far older than Muslims ones. Another example, Nablus is built on th Jewish city of Shechem. This is why there is no peace. Why are you so afraid of truth? We Jews are very patient people. We are home. Arab squatters are not welcome, Either live at peace with the native Jewish population or go back to Arabia. End your occupation of Jewish land. Please read some history.
11. To David in Boston
Palestinian   (09.09.08)
David, I am not saying that there were no Jews in Palestine before. What I am saying there was not state that lasted for thousands of years and therefore why should we expect that today's Israel last for thousands of years. Finally, Arabs and Jews, or the original Arabs and the Hebrew Israelites are cousins... Todays Arabs are called so because they are Arabic speaking not that they come out from the Arabian Peninsula. Also most Jews are called so because they practice Judaism not that because they come from Judah or have semitic roots at all. Think of the Khazars as an example. Also, Nablus, is a palestinian town and the Samaritans call themselves Palestinians. A Palestinian can be a Muslim, Christian or a Jew... Finally, Jews of the middle east historically spoke Arabic just like muslims like christians. This is a language of the this area just like Aramaic has been. The fact that Palestinians are Arabic speaking does not imply that they have no roots in Palestine! This is ridiculous thinking. In fact, many Palestinians are descendents of the Semitic people whom inhabited Palestine since the early history. Whether they were Canaanites, Hebrews, Nabateans, Ghassanids, etc... You see, people change their religions and languages. Think of Egypt, it was a pagan country during Moses, but now it is a Muslim Arabic speakinf country. Does that imply that today's Egyptians have nothing to do with the ancient Egyptians. Think of Sudan, does it mean because that Sudan is Arabic speaking and predominantly Muslim that it has nothing to do with its indigenous black people! The list could go on and on. Does it mean that because modern Greeks are Christians they have nothing to do with the ancient pagans Greeks!
12. Thomas, this is about Arabs, and not Arabia!
Observer   (09.09.08)
Arabs include very poor countries, in fact most of them are very poor! The most educated of them are Jordan Lebanon, and guess what, the Palestinians...
13. No peace
i ,   jerusalem   (09.09.08)
There is no peace because, first of all, there is no Middle East. This is southwestern Asia, and we Hebrews are native to this, and the other end of this fertile crescent. Secondly, we have a loud minority of Hebrews who dont acknowledge the patrimony, and a pack of misfit Arabs who, thanks to us are educated and wealthy relative to the Ummah in general. Educated masses dont play well there, and honor killings dont really vibrate well in the West.
14. # 11
Bill ,   US   (09.09.08)
Most people in Egypt today have nothing to do with ancient Egypt of the Pharohs. The ones who do are called Copts and the speak a dialect simnilar to that spoken in pre-Arab Egypt. As for the Samartitans they practice a religion native to the land and while they may speak Arabic they pray in Hebrew, a language natve to the land. You have nothing that connects you here except these lame conjectures to anything non-Jewish you can come up with. It's almost believable if not for all the evidence of Arab migration into Palestine within recent history.
15. Longing for the ghetto
Naftali Lavie   (09.09.08)
The ghetto was bad for the Jews. Zionism has recreated the ghetto, only this time, on a massive scale, an anti-semite's dream. How else describe a state that is alienated from its Muslim and Arab neighbours, and hostile to them? At the same time, Israelis humor themselves that Israel is a "democracy", and that it adheres to "Western values". The Israeli ghetto-garrison state is a dead end. The Palestinians oppressed by Israel are the key to Israelis breaking out of the ghetto. Israelis and Palestinians, working together as equals, can create democracy for all.
16. Lavie's ghetto
Clement Stein ,   Jerusalem,Israel   (09.10.08)
Mr lavie constantly posts on multiple websites his desire for a binational state. If Czechs and Slovaks cannot live in the same state, nor Hutus or Tutsi's how does he expect Jews and Palestinians to live in a binational state? Truth is he knows this is impossible, but would prefer Israel to disappear because it makes him uncomfortable with his progressive friends
17. #8 is an example of a hostile middle east
Talula ,   Israel   (09.10.08)
The fact of the matter is this - Israel became a nation in 1312 B.C.E - that's two thousand years before the rise of Islam. Now, you can either accept that or not. But those are the facts. Now, you either accept it as a fact and tolerate it or you can wage war and murder. But I think acceptance is better than killing.
