The article by Yoram Kaniuk on Sarah Palin is the biggest load of condescending garbage I have read from someone who obviously knows little about life in American and what Americans care about. As a citizen of the US I am insulted at the notion that Americans only care about driving their cars and don't look beyond that. As a citizen of Israel, I'm ashamed that this sexist nonsense can be published. Palin's looks are mentioned more than once - when are Israelis going to grow up? And when are you going to get rid of the notion that you are so morally superior?

Americans like someone to talk about their economy, unemployment,gas prices,health,education,Iraq,Afghanistan and Bin Ladin but surely not the BS that Sarah Palin talking about.

Palin is an insult to America. The McCain campaign watches her very carefully and won't let her be interviewed by the press. She is the contemporary equivalent to Caligula's horse. The basic christian right wing support of Israel is based on their belief that israel will be destroyed so jesus can come back and finish off anyone who doesn't see it the same way as the Christian evangelicals. Palin must NEVER be allowed to come close to any sort of power.

She represents the dumbing of AMerica. Remember this woman who is anti-Abortion and believes in creationism is one heartbeat away from the presidency. God save us if McCain is elected.

I have been saying for months that there are 48 other states besides NY and California. With time even those states who are "blue" inclined will question Mr. Obama's qualifications. I think he will be ready in 4 to 8 years and will be an excellent President but not in '08. He jumped the gun!

McCain is 2 heartbeats away from going to the emergency room. Palin is planning to take over. Palin is an american religious fanatic. Dangerous for progress. Obama will show a new path to a better life.

This article only makes it more clear to me that Palin should not have EVER been even considered for office. First, is it necessairy to continually state that she is an attractive woman? As a woman, I find that slightly degrading that the author would even consider that a "redeeming factor" of Sarah Palin. She is not fit to run a country the size of America. So what if she's the "atypical down home American". We already have one of those in office and he all but killed America, and everything that the Republican Party stands for. Instead of going based on the thoughts and the fundamental ideas of the Republican Party's forefathers, Sarah Palin is the exact oppisite. Her and John McCain will try to micromanage every part of the average American's life. It could turn into a modern day 1984. For all you Palin supporters- kiss the America that stands for equality, justice, and liberty away. Palin is one of the most un-American people that could possibly come into office.

She was suggested by Mr. Kudlow (from the most popular and respected bussiness show, CNBC) who interveiwed her several times and said that she is the best; and by Newt (the most respected Republican). The only way Dems have a little chance if they replace Biden with Hillary. But Palin will eat Hillary alive because she is much more knowlegable and smarter. Dems may try to replace Biden in October so to awoid Hillary debating Palin.

In the past, you have provided long lists of people that you say are anti-Semitic. Yet now you would have the Democrats win the 2008 election. We are not living in the days of Truman and LBJ. Kaniuk doesn't impress as a writer, and his argument lacks cogency, but there are nuggets of substance buried here. Palin is tapping into sentiments that are unfamiliar to the blue state liberals and bi-coastals. Most Americans think that their country is special, that life is precious, and that one can distinguish good from evil based on Judeo-Christian values. They believe in progress, hard work and freedom. Liberals, in contrast, think America is to blame [for whatever], evil is a social construct or something to be "understood", everyone is "entitled", and government is the answer. It's no surprise the left has been so quick to smear this woman, to make stuff up when they've got nothing else. She is their worst nightmare because she challenges their core worldview. Given the choice of "world citizen" Obama and "old fashioned American" Palin as role models, it's fairly clear which way many voters will lean.

It amazes me to no end that Israelis allow their government to be controlled by the single most corrupt group of human beings in all of man's existence. The Chasidim. YET, a woman who is a devout Christian in America is suddenly too religious to be vice president! As a Jew, I find this hypocrisy amazing to witness!
