First, the all-white religious schools produce what are now being referred to as Israel's new terrorists, who do not even include the modesty brigades and closet wife beaters. It also does not include the many white children who beat the crap out of one another on a regular basis, and who wear out Israeli teachers with their antics on a regular basis with alcoholism and bullying. Second, where are the statistics? Like our "great" Islamist propaganists, the people quoted int his article are taking advantage of the relative lack of access to the media of the average Ethiopian parent, and the public's desperation to hate all things non-white and justify segregation. I work in a gan yeledim with Ethiopian children, and have worked with "white" (mixed), and I would suggest the failure lies in the hands of the school system. If segregation is the proposed answer - and one which the "veteran Ethiopians" are rejecting, too - the problem is deeper than it appears.

The problem here are the teachers. They do not know how to behave when faced with certain situations. If they managed to get it under control and get some respect from the students, it would be an entirely different situation. It's very unfair to blame the Ethiopians. But then again, it seems when anything is to blame, it needs a label. Maybe they need to be schooled in another way, maybe they first need to be taught about Israeli society and what is acceptable – but to solely blame them is very unfair. Labeling them Ethiopians IS discrimination – they are now Israelis – just like the rest of us.
